  • Overview

    Thin, minimal design.

The lightweight, durable Smart Cover protects your iPad screen without covering up its aluminium back. So your iPad still looks and feels like an iPad — just with a little extra protection.

    Polyurethane design.

The Smart Cover is made of polyurethane. It also features a soft, colour-matched microfibre lining that helps keep your display clean.

    Magnetic connection.

A hinge magnetically aligns the Smart Cover with iPad for a perfect fit, while magnets inside help it stay put.

    Keyboard stand.

The Smart Cover does double duty as a keyboard stand. Fold it back to tilt iPad into a comfortable writing position.

Wake on open. Sleep on close.

Open the Smart Cover and iPad magically wakes up. Close it and iPad automatically goes to sleep.

    FaceTime and film stand.

The Smart Cover folds in just the right places to become the perfect FaceTime and film-watching stand.

Worse than the iPad Pro 9.7" Smart Cover.

I bought this Smart Cover and found that it's very annoying! I always take good care of my Apple Products and all of them are in Perfect Condition! However, this Smart Cover ruined my iPad. The place where the Smart Cover's magnet attached to, scratched by the Smart Cover, not 1 scratch, but 3 scratches! I don't understand what material is this. I wiped the Smart Cover with wet tissues before attaching it to the iPad so that it's dust free! So that means it's the material of the Smart Cover which causes the scratches. Besides, the magnet of the Smart Cover is not as strong as the iPad Pros'. Definitely not worth it. Think about it before buying! [This is my personal experience, doesn't mean that all the Smart Covers will have the same problems.]

I wanted a full case (back and cover) but the smart cover is currently the only option. The magnet is so weak that it won't hold the iPad upright horizontally and won't stay connected when holding it vertically in one hand. Incredibly over-priced at $40 and useless to boot.

This product caused an iPad drop and screen crack

My daughter held her iPad across her arm while standing. She became unbalanced for a moment and held onto the cover instead of the iPad. The iPad dropped onto My daughter held her iPad across her arm while standing. She became unbalanced for a moment and held onto the cover instead of the iPad. The iPad dropped onto a hard floor. A normal cover would not have allowed this to occur. This product looks sleek, but presents a false sense of security for a child. It’s better to use a normal iPad cover.

      Magnetic cover badly worn!

Bought an iPad mini 4 series a couple of years ago, together with 2-piece Smart Cover, which I love. Quite expensive at £49 and £29 respectively. Unfortunately, Bought an iPad mini 4 series a couple of years ago, together with 2-piece Smart Cover, which I love. Quite expensive at £49 and £29 respectively. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed how the magnetic cover has worn. Whilst the underneath is still as good as new, the magnetic cover is badly worn and looks shoddy. My question is do I replace it with another Apple cover or do I buy a cheaper copy? Or should Apple replace it with a new one?

It is a thin piece of microfiber material with a magnetic edge that, theoretically, clings to the IPad. In reality, You will need to be verrry careful to keep it on the front of the iPad. There is no back and no padding. There is no protection if you drop it, so my new Ipad’s days are numbered because I dropped my old one twice! How I wish I had saved that raggedy old red cover! Love the iPad. Hate the cover!
