Will it work with Apple Thunderbolt Display?

The display appears to be hard-wired with a male plug.

Since this cable is male-to-male I don't see how it could be used.

Can it perhaps go from the Mac into the female port on the back of the display?

  • No, your right.
As the Apple Thunderbolt Display has a hard-wired Tbolt cable, you cannot use this to connect a Mac to the display unfortunately.

You can only use the female port on the back of the display to plug this optical cable into, and then connect other SELF-POWERED Tbolt devices to it.

  • Just to be clear:

Can I connect a Apple Cinema display with a 33ft cable to a Mac Mini. While using a BT keyboard and mouse?
