I have a 500MB portable drive plugged in to my Time Capsule USB, which I can access via Finder on my MacBook Pro. Would this be a suitable upgrade?

  • Yes, in that all AirPort Time Capsules come with one USB port. BUT, note that even the latest Time Capsule only has a USB 2 port so, for connecting to the Time Capsule, this USB 3 external drive is a bit of an overkill. Although, of course, a USB 3 port is absolutely backwards compatible. This just means, when hooked up to your Time Capsule, you won't get blazingly fast USB 3 transfer speeds. ;-)

  • Sure, as long as you have a USB port on the back of your Time Capsule.
