Does this adapter work with Thunderbolt 1?
Most adapters I have found require Thunderbolt 2, and I have a MacBook Air (early 2014) which only has Thunderbolt 1.

The adapter will work with Thunderbolt 1 devices. However, only Thunderbolt 2 devices are capable of outputting 4K content.
