Did not work for me. Neither did the Thunderbolt 3 to AV multiport adapter.

  • I tried using the Apple USB-C to Thunderbolt adaptor with a Thunderbolt 2 cable from my Mac Pro to this display but no joy. Maybe the adaptor is bad. I switched out the Thunderbolt cable and still no joy waiting for a new adaptor USB-C to Thunderbolt adaptor.

  • Supported displays and configurations

You can use 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs with these Mac computers.
MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013) and later
    Mac Pro (Late 2013)
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) and later
    Mac mini (Late 2014)
    MacBook Air (Early 2015)
MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015) and later

If you read the list, the Mac Pro is compatible, as long as you have a Thunderbolt 2 - Thunderbolt 3 cable

  • Yes, with the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter (you would also need a Thunderbolt 2 cable).
