  • They are the same product. When the first models were released, the MacBook Air was the only Mac to support the drive. Once more Macs became available without disc drives, the product was rebranded as the Apple USB SuperDrive. However, there are some differences mentioned in Apple's support document Mac computers that can use the Apple USB SuperDrive (HT202665).
