can i create a home network (in order to extend by WiFi signal) by combining an airport time capsule and an airport extreme? Is it best to hardwire?

Answer
Yes, you can use an Airport Extreme (or Express) to extend the WiFi signal. You will get best performance if you connect them through Ethernet.

I have literally set up 2 hours ago, in my home, which has very thick cement walls (40 cm thick) with my main router… an Apple Time Capsule and used my old 2012 Apple Extreme as a network booster (extender). It works beautifully! Ultra easy to set up. If you have an iPhone, download the Airport Utility App. and let it tell you what to do! BTW, turn off "Ask to join other networks," first!
