Does the new Airport Extreme support scanning, either from a standalone USB scanner, or the scan function of a USB all in one machine?

Depends upon the model.
A Canon MP- all in one, such as the MP190, can be plugged
into the Airport Extreme, and any mac running OS X 10.8.5 or higher
along with the appropriate drivers, will recognize the device's capabilities.- Answered by Terry J from Oklahoma City
