depending on if you have SSD or Fusion drive it will speed things up when it comes to processing video encoding. As for Skype, the limitation with it is often related to internet speeds that communications encounter between the connection points. The more participants in a Skype session the more potential there is for bottlenecks. Depending on the purpose of the online session, and the number of participants, Skype may not be the best solution. It works fine for 1 on 1 meetings but getting more than 3 participants and it becomes difficult to have everyone online and not constant freezes or participants dropping of sessions. If the purpose is presenting or training a group then a program like WebEx or GoToMeeting is better equipped to the task of having larger groups in a session. In that case more memory may be useful as you share content through the session.
