Does the new MAC Leopard OS have an equivalent to the Windows (XP, Vista and Windows 7) File Manager?

Finder "works just like Windows Explorer"? Only if you have your rose tinted spectacles on. Even Mac blogs admit that it's a POS and that you need an alternative... and of course is there an alternative? The recommended one has been abandoned by its developers, another one just plain doesn't work (and won't let you quit it either). Still searching an hour later for something that actually has the same overview, and ease of use as File Explorer. Finder isn't it. No path, no hierarchical tree, an eyesore of an interface... what's to like?

  • Yes, it's called Finder.

  • Yes, Mac OS X uses a file manager called "Finder." It works just like Windows Explorer. You can physically see all the files on your hard drive. You have folders and files just like in Windows. Every generic file like .doc or .mp3 can be read and seen by Macs.
