Sound over HDMI?

Does this adapter allow sound over HDMI? The description mentions hooking it up to your TV, but it doesn't specifically say sound works or does not work.

If I plug my Apple LED Cinema Display 27" (Mini DisplayPort not Thunderbolt) into the HDMI port of this adapter will it work with the new MacBook?

Has anyone tried this adapter (or the similar VGA adapter) with an Android phone or tablet with USB-C connector?

I'd like to be able to have my Android phone being charged while having it connected to an external USB device that can't charge it (like an external disk or other peripheral). I realize that it's very unlikely that the video port could work, since that would require a specific driver in the phone/tablet, and I don't need that. But if this adapter could provide a standard USB port while allowing charging, that would be very useful.

If I use an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable or adapter with this adapter, will I be able to pass video/audio from the new Macbook to my Thunderbolt display?

Can I play dvd or gaming consoles using the USB-C digital multiport adapter

My question is on a 2018 MacBook Pro with 4 USB-c ports, using this said adapter can I use the HDMI port as an input for a dvd or gaming console ? Or is it only HDMI output for external display.

Webcam (HDMI) for facetime use, would this HDMI to USB Adapter work with an external camera (GoPro, Camcorder,etc) in conjunction with a facetime call

Webcam (HDMI feed from camera) for Facetime use:

-->would this HDMI to USB Adapter work with an external camera (GoPro, Camcorder,etc) in conjunction with a Facetime call, if i prefre to have an external movable camera on a Facetime call, versus using the built in imac or mac camera?
