Does it output all game apps?
I'm getting mixed signals as to what thiis thing does. Does it just clone the ipad video to an external source? and if so, should all game apps be automatically viewable on a bigger lcd if i used it?

Best Answer:This adapter outputs video from SPECIFIC apps. These apps are the Photos app, the Videos app (although some movies purchased through iTunes (HD specifically, or so I have heard) wont work), Keynote, and any app in the App Store that says it will work with the VGA Adapter. Do not be fooled, although App Store apps that work with one adapter (VGA, Composite, or Component) should work with all 3 adapters, they don't. Meaning that though an app may work with the VGA adapter, it might not work with the Composite or Component adapters, even though it should!!
To my knowledge, there aren't any games that use these adapters.
Due to restrictions on the iPhone OS, the adapter cannot clone the iPad's screen.- Answered by Alex N from Memphis

Will it project all iTune downloaded movies?
- Asked by Anonymous A from Xxxxxxxxxxxx
- 19-Apr-2010
- Flag as inappropriate (Will it project all iTune downloaded movies?)
Best Answer:It will not let you play iTunes downloaded movies on an external display but gives a message "this monitor is not authorized to display protected content"
If you sync the movies to a MacBook you can play the movie using the same monitor so I don't think the problem is the monitor- Answered by John S from Piedmont

Are there wireless connections for mac to lcd projection?
I am a high school teacher and apple enthusiast, I am in love with Ipad ( Thanks for that ). My problem is projection using my LCD projector with these marvelous products . I want to do it wirelessly. There are 2 questions I would like to ask ;
1. Is there an app that works wirelessly with the Ipad macbook, pro and the projector syncing them together under the control of the Ipad?,If possible, this marvelous invention would allow me to peruse while supervising my energetic students and still dynamically teach. The apple remote is an option I use , but is so limited.
2.Are there further upgrades for the first IPad? ( I feel cheated LOL) If not what about trade in's?- Asked by Vogel W from Hialeah

Will the iPad dock connector to VGA work with my iPhone 4 in displaying videos recorded onto the TV??? Can I see my HD videos on the TV?
- Asked by Anonymous A from Xxxxxxx
- 22-Jul-2010
- Flag as inappropriate (Will the iPad dock connector to VGA work with my iPhone 4 in displaying videos recorded onto the TV??? Can I see my HD videos on the TV?)
Best Answer:If it's an unprotected video file, yes it will work at 1024x768 (almost HD)
But if its a video you purchase on iTunes, then it wont work, not even SD video, you'll just get an error message.
The cable doesn't offer any power input or sound output either. If you want to watch an iTunes
video on an external screen, your better with the AV composite or component cables.
I bought the dock to VGA cable for my iPhone 4 and so far I'm pretty much disapointing.- Answered by Marc-andre L from Montreal

Can the desktop or Keynote be projected (not just videos or photos)?
I would like to use the iPad for presentations.
- Asked by Larry K from Vestal
- 13-Apr-2010
- Flag as inappropriate (Can the desktop or Keynote be projected (not just videos or photos)?)
Best Answer:First, it is important to understand that with this adapter you are connecting a 2nd display to your iPad. From this point it is up to the app developer to decide if and what will be displayed on this 2nd display when you launch the app.
At this time, the following apps will use the 2nd display:
- keynote - when you shown a presentation
- video - when you play a video
- Photos - when you run a photo slideshow
- Youtube - when you play a youtube video
In all these cases the 2nd display will show the object when you start playing it.
Other apps can follow and offer their support for a 2nd display using this connector since this is part of the iPhoneOS SDK.
As you can understand there is NO mirroring of the iPad primary display.- Answered by Yossef M from Brookline

does mirror video playback?
i would like to know if i can see my ipad movies on my HDTV such as the ones downloaded from itunes or simply uploaded into my ipad.
- Asked by Anonymous A from Xxxxx
- 25-Apr-2010
- Flag as inappropriate (does mirror video playback?)
Best Answer:Yes and No. You may watch the movies you have uploaded to the iPad on your HDTV if it has a VGA port. You may NOT watch the movies you have downloaded from iTunes because they are protected...DRM...and come up with an error saying the device connected isn't supported for playback of the video. I tested it and it works with podcasts and other movies I have encoded from elsewhere for the ipod/ipad.
