does this 15 pin adapter work with MacBook 5.1?
- Asked by Byerly W from Merced

- Flag as inappropriate (does this 15 pin adapter work with MacBook 5.1?)
AnswerNo. This adapter is only compatible with newer versions of iOS devices including the iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th generation, iPad and iPad 2. Video out is supported for the iPhone 4, iPod touch 4th generation and iPad while mirroring is only functional with the iPad 2. You can purchase the Apple MiniDisplay Port to VGA adapter for your MacBook to support output via a VGA connection.

Best Answer:From a first generation iPad, your options are limited. However, if using iPad 2, you will be able to mirror the whole iPad 2 screen (including apps) using VGA. Mirroring without HDMI willonly work on iPad 2.

Best Answer:
The first answer to this question is completely inaccurate. Any iPad that is model iPad 2 or later, as well as iPhone 4S or later, will mirror the display. I have tested and confirmed this with an iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Any and all apps will mirror to the external display through the Apple 30-pin to VGA adapter with these newer devices - no Apple TV required.

If you have a .ppt file in email will it project?
- Asked by Anonymous A from Xxxxx
- 15-Apr-2010
- Flag as inappropriate (If you have a .ppt file in email will it project?)
Best Answer:If you also have Keynote ($10) for the iPad, then you can get it to project. You click the PPT in the email. Then click the "Open in Keynote" button at the top of the screen. When it opens in Keynote then the slide will project on the monitor. But I don't find Keynote to be a very great app, and I am disappointed with the ability to add notes and export back to PPT. You can only make edits and get it back as PDF or Ketnote file.
