AnswerNo. Here are the ones it is compatible with:
MacBook Pro with Retina display
MacBook Air
iMac (late 2012) and later
Mac mini (late 2009) and later
Mac Pro (late 2013)

Best Answer:USB 2.0, but the speed of USB 2.0 is much more then you need due to the read/write restrictions of DVDs/CDs.

None. You may select files or folder and perform secondary click(usually two finger tap) and choose Burn "selected Items" to Disc

can the usb superdrive be hooked up to a normal TV?
I have a dvd drive in my macbook pro that works just fine, but i like to multitask on my down time. so can the USB SuperDrive be hooked up to a normal TV that way i can watch a movie and still be able to use my mac for other things? If not, is there a way to work around that by hooking it up to a secondary unit that routs into the TV?

Best Answer:No you can't hook it up to your TV. This is only really made for Macs that don't have an optical drive built in. Honestly, I would just buy a basic DVD player. They're cheaper as well.

Will the Superdrive burn both sides of a 2 sided dvd? That is: does the system manage the transition for large files that overflow side 1 of the Disc?

Will this drive burn HD-DVD's from an iMac running Sierra? How about 4k?
I've just switched from PC to Apple and know that Apple doesn't support bluray but want to know if that applies to HD as well. I don't want to lose the sound and picture quality HD provides.
