    annoying functionality

After breaking i6plus screen twice in 4 mths I decided to use life proof especially when it claims water ingress resistance for one hour at 2metre depth. After 20 days ownership I decided to testing an empty case in a 30cm deep jug overnight it was quarter full. Returned to retailer who tried to be difficult about replacement but after I loudly reminded them about Australian consumer law I had replacement. For now seems waterproof but whenever the lightning cable is plugged in I cannot use the numeric selector key on bottom left side of screen. Annoys me to no end. And as for the sound volume its just awful. I will again test the waterproof effectiveness but the annoying loss of the 123 button whilst charging is slowly wearing me down. Might just buy a military style full corner wrap case for far less and get my money back on this poorly designed product.
For now I say buy something else unless you are prone to dropping phone in water or mud if your work is such as im sure you will be protected for the 1-3 minutes will take to retrieve the phone but I don't think the 2m x 1hr claim is realistic. How long that little charging port door seal will last with daily charging? Its a pretty case and does offer some protection but not at $80 a pop. Should be around $25 in my humble opinion.

    Read fine print

I was told this case would protect my phone and that there was no was for it to break while in this case. My kid dropped his phone in front of me 3 feet off the ground and shattered his screen while in a life proof case. Life proof does NOT warranty your device. They warranty their case. This is a complete misrepresentation of what their case is suppose to do, protect our I phone 6. I purchased this product to protect our phone, not for the phone to protect their case. Buyer beware, their case does not do what they say it does and they do not take ownership of their claim. Save your money and buy a less expensive case as it is just as effective!!!!

    Disappointed

Was very exited to get this lifeproof case and loved it. It has been very hard to open and the edges are sharp. I recently got it and just tonight I was trying to open it and it cut me. iPhone cases are supposed to be safe. Not supposed to cut you when you try to put my phone in. I'd rather a broken phone then get cut every time I try to open the case. Very disappointed and will be asking for my money back.

    Disgusted

People can't hear me and the screen protector makes it almost impossible to text.
    Hate this product.

    Horribly dissapointed.

I was so excited to get my new case and use it at the water park. Now, my phone only works on speaker and Bluetooth. I'm hoping it dries and my expensive phone begins to function properly. So mad. Don't waste your money.

will not last piece of trash

No matter how careful you are, the charge port door will fail...over and over again. What a great disappointment Lifeproof never again.

Garbage case, this company is terrible

I was sent this case when my other lifeproof case failed to protect my iphone 6 from a puddle of water, making the camera non functioning. After a month of regular use, the piece which flips over the charging port now does not seal at all because the two tiny plastic pieces that clip it in place broke off. This case also makes it hard to pull up the multimedia menu from the bottom of the screen. This company's cases are complete garbage. The company itself is lame. I would strongly recommend nobody buy any lifeproof product ever. Now I have a phone without a camera and will be looking for another case. Otterbox aren't bad. Lifeproof is awful

10 months after purchase and WATER damage

I was a believer until recently. I have seen this case protect my phone a number of time. No idea why it didn't work last week, but I had a new iphone, new case, tested it before heading off on vacation --- and everything is lost. We were in Cuba so nothing is backed up in the cloud. :( After all the dust has settled I really do want to know why it didn't work. The company isn't responding - weird. I couldn't get a genius bar appointment because my phone is less than 2 weeks old. I spend over 2 hours of phone calls (borrowing a phone) to get an apple appointment finally.... I won't buy another or use the free replacement unless they can explain why it suddenly didn't work. My phone was never submerged into the water. i was taking video of my kids playing with a starfish and singing - yes in the water, but splashing water - this case did in the past work protecting my phone in 1 inch of water. Ugh.

    Needs significant improvement

Looks great and keeps water out, however, i get what sounds like siren feedback when I make calls and any type of speakerphone feature or audio is rendered useless. Unless they make some serious improvements, don't waste your money

    Great!

I see everyone complaining about how they can't hear people and vice versa. Well it's meant to protect your phone from anything getting in, so it's going to be tightly sealed, what did you expect? It's meant for when you go hiking, to the pool or anything that can possibly damage your phone. It can be used everyday, yes, but it's designed for those activities and keeping it safe during. Get an otter box for the times you just need fall protection and want to hear about your aunt Margery's day. It's a good product. Just make sure you test it before putting your phone in it, machines aren't perfect and can make a mistake.

    NOT WATER PROOF

It was very exciting to get the case for my birthday. I have used this case several times to go to the beach. It keeps the sand out and it is pretty shock proof. However, the reason almost everyone wants this case for is to take your phone in the water and to take pictures underwater... this case is NOT good for that. I even did the water test that comes with the lifeproof and it didnt get wet. But the first time I submerged my phone in the water with the case... I was in the pool for not even 10 minutes with my phone and it shut off on 78% battery. I looked at the case and through the back I could see huge water droplets inside. I then took it off (which isnt very easy) and my phone is still broken. I used some tips off of the internet to dry my phone but the microphone will not work and professionals said the only way to solve it is to get a new phone. This case is definitely not worth the $80.

THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF - THEY LEAK

You will LOSE your expensive phone if you trust a Lifeproof case. Mine was on perfectly. I checked it very well. But it leaked and I lost a perfectly good iphone. Check the reviews. PRETTY BAD. You will be furious. Your warranty does NOT cover water damage. Lifeproof will NOT cover your phone. You will be OUT an EXPENSIVE PHONE. NOT WORTH IT !!!!!

Keeps falling off the clip-zero stars

I've had lifeproof for several months now, and I can say that I'm lucky to have not lost my phone dozens of times. I had the old. Case before they went to the square, and I was always confident that it was secure. If I apply even light pressure at the right point it falls right off. I would give it 5 stars for WASTE OF MONEY

When talking on the phone people can't hear me - solution

After I put the lifeproof case on my iphone6 people could not hear me when talking on the phone. I fixed this by turning OFF noise cancellation (Settings/General/Noise Cancellation) Next: opening the case & putting a small piece of paper (1'*1' folded in 4) in the center of the back just under the apple window. Worked like a charm

At least they replace for free.

With the first one no one could hear me unless I used speaker phone. The switch to turn the ringer off broke on the second case but people could hear me this time. The flap that protects the charge port broke off the third. The 4th is definitely not water proof. I think a small piece is missing from the charge port area. They replaced it for free every time, no questions asked and they didn't ask for the defective/broken ones. Done with LifeProof.

    Horrible Waste of Money

Dropped my iPhone 6s plus from about 2 feet onto a tile surface, and my phone shattered completely. Complete waste of money.

    "What? I can't hear you."

If there was an option for zero stars, that would be my choice. If you never use your phone as an actual phone and are a texting maniac like my kids who think talking on the phone is crazy, then go for it (I think teens need a class on how to talk on the phone, but I digress). If you need to use the phone for its original intended purpose, be prepared to repeat everything. My final day with this piece of expensive junk was yesterday when my accountant said to me, "You really need a new cell phone." (headshaking and palm slap to forehead)

    Awesome case

Have used three Lifeproof cases. Two for my iPhone 5 and one for iPhone 6. The cases delivered on its promises. Protected both my iP5 and iP6 from drops, performed well underwater for photo and video taking. I believe the ergonomics and well thought through design has kept my iPhones in good shape and prolonged their life. Now my sons are using the hand me downs iP5 and they are still in top shape. Can't really understand the poor reviews given it though.

    Not recommended

I have previously used otter box cases, and I wanted to give this a try. It was good for a month until it started going bad. It gave my phone touch ic disease, because as you use the case, it beds, thus bending my phone. Also, terrible build quality. The headphone jack piece is way too easy to lose, and the rubber on the case just peels off. Also, horrible sound quality. The audio from the phone sometimes has a vibration sound with it. The headphone jack only works on a few accessories. I know some of these are flaws with having a waterproof case, but it is only waterproof for the first few months of use. Save your 80 bucks, or get yourself a good case.

Do not buy LifeProof it is useless

I bought a LifeProof case for my daughters iphone 6 plus for Christmas. She treated it like a baby. She was very careful with her phone. She accidentally dropped it once less than two feet and the screen is now cracked. LifeProof will not stand behind their products. They will not fix the screen for her phone. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING BY LIFEPROOF. Otterbox is much much better.
