Good at first, not so good later, but I still love 'em.

They cancelled nearly 100% of outside noise for about the first two weeks I had them. Then they became less effective - I'd say 80 rather than 100. The good news is that they're still quite effective, blocking most background noises, but not voice when someone is talking. (Initially they also blocked voices.) They're light. They run a few days on one charge (moderate use). Since I use them on my Macbook Air, I can always be charging them while using them. There's an active mode, where they block most outside noise, and a passive mode, where they still pass through audio, but the quality in that mode is pretty flat. Very good frequency response from low to very high, in the powered/active mode. I use them on long flights - great! I use them in the library at school - great! I use them on the subway - great! You already know about the price. I agree they're expensive, but doggone it, they worked.

    Good Headphones

    • Written by Steven D from Old Hickory

Purchased a pair and am very surprised how well they cancel noise considering they are an in ear headphone. The noise cancelling feature use in airplanes does help and it is great not to have the volume at maximum to hear.

The only drawback for me is that they are not wireless.

Are they as good as over ear, no. If you are looking for something in ear and lightweight, this product is something to check out.

    Bose QC20

    • Written by Joseph P from Fountain Hills

Yes, it's a lot of money for a pair of earbuds, but if you travel a lot especially on airplanes they are great. I can't say the sound quality is in that price range, but it's more than just about the sound. They are lightweight, not bulky like over the ear noise canceling headsets. They come in a small pouch which is easier to carry than the larger headsets. The silicone ear cups are very comfortable (comes with 3 sizes). They are compatible with both android and iphones, but make sure you get the QC20i if you have an iphone (no extra cost). Battery life is good. You don't have to use the noise canceling feature if just listening to music, but it is better that way. If you are not listening to music, but just want some quiet time you can do that too. I would have given them 5 stars if they were not so expensive.
