This is a really good controller. I bought this for my son to play his favourite games on a TV with an HDMI cable. The best-optimised game is Minecraft.

Works awesome but do your research.

    • Written by Casey G from Morgan

This controller works perfectly and is very simple to set up. A lot of reviews complain that it doesn’t work with every game. Thing is NOT EVERY GAME SUPPORTS A EXTERNAL CONTOLLER! If the game you are wanting to use it for supports a MFI contoller then buy this item. I researched if Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was compatible before I purchased. This item even has an app that has a list of compatible games and there are multiple web sites that list MFI compatible games. Do your research before you buy. Don’t blame the controller for not playing a game that doesn’t support.

    An excellent controller

    • Written by Dilir D from Chicago

I have been using this for over a month now , and it has little to no issues on my iPhone & iPod 6. It has few games suported on Mac , but this is to be expected. But it does feel a lot better than the Logitech Powershell I use. I have played GTA Chinatown, GTA San Andreas, Dead Trigger 2 ,Impossible Road & a few Sega games on this.Plus lightning charging makes it quite easy to charge too.

Don’t listen to bad reviews. Amazing controller!

    • Written by Bradley S from Marion

First let’s put out all the “issues” everyone has with this controller. It does not come with a charging cable. Which should be fine because it uses a lightning cable the same cable you use to charge your iPhone or iPad. Also, it charges very fast when plugged into a wall charger. Also with a 40 hour battery life you will not be charging that often. Next, there is lag when using it through your Apple TV. This should be obvious since it’s connecting to your Apple device and then over WiFi to your Apple TV and there is delay due to the WiFi transmission. Some games it makes them unplayable, others do a better job of handling the lag. Shantae was unplayable, but GTA was fine. So even though it says it will do this, I would not suggest it. And lastly, the manual that comes with it is super lame. Download the app and that will help you far more. Not only do I suggest the app, I suggest checking it out before you even decide to buy this controller because it has a list of all compatible games, and some are strangely absent. All the GTA games are there, but Bully isn’t. No idea why.

There is a lot of quality built into this controller, it feels very solid. Some could complain that the D-pad and front buttons feel a little cheap, but all react perfectly and spring right back. The analog sticks and L and R buttons are perfect! They feel exactly as you would expect a high quality controller to feel. It also has a comfortable form fit to your hands for long gameplay sessions. Also the matte finish is nice providing great grip.

Probably the only thing I really wish it came with is some sort of carry case. It’s not a deal breaker, but the is the first thing I’m going to look for. Over all I highly recommend purchasing one if you have compatible games. I personally hate touch screen controls, even good ones take me out of the action by placing my hands and fingers in the way.

Super excellent controller for new Apple TV 4K

    • Written by Martin G from Pompano Beach

Simple to set-up and pair with Apple TV and iPhone. Uses lightening cable - a huge plus in my household. Sturdy feel in hand and it is very responsive. Just as good or better than any Microsoft or Android controller. Only negative, works only with MiFi enabled apps and it would have been nice if they included a lightening cable for charging (although we have plenty at home. Great value for the money. It really works great and makes Apple TV even more fun. Definitely highly recommend! :)

    Best Controller Yet!

    • Written by Tristan J from Chittenango

I just bought my Apple TV to be a mixture of entertainment devices. While in the Apple Store, I happened to notice two controllers, this being one of them. The second I picked it up, I knew that this was the controller for me. It feels very secure in my hand, very similar to the feeling of a PS4 Controller. The price is great, the fact that it is wireless is even better, and finally the fact that I have charged this controller once and it has lasted me four days and counting is the icing on the cake. This is a must have for gaming on the Apple TV. Charges via lightening cable. I play Real Racing 3 the most on the Apple TV and this is the perfect addition for gaming.

So I had recently bought a gaming controller on online and it didn't work at all. I totally regretted getting it. So I decided to look more into controllers and came across this one, I decided to buy it and give it a try-- I received the gaming controller in the mail today and I absolutely love it totally worth the price! It works amazing with the iPhone 7 Plus. It's compatible with a lot of games.

I purchased this controller to play GTA games on my iPad Pro 12.9 and it works with all GTA games it has an app nimbus where you can update firmware etc and check what games are compatible and download them via link to App Store this controller doesn't come with a lightning cable so make sure you have one of those .... but it's Easy to pair, good battery life the way iPad games are ment to be played, only gripe I got is no analogue stick click buttons (as apple don't support this feature anyway so no point putting it in)

Couldn't imagine a better wireless controller for my iPad. Solidly built and feels great in the hand; I actually prefer it to the 360 controller. Charges quickly (and the Lightning connector means I don't need to find a separate cable for it) and lasts for ages. Highly recommended.

It's a must if you want real enjoyment with your gaming experience on Apple

    • Written by Rocco C from Bonbeach

I think this is a great addition to the new Apple TV. My only flaw is not with the controller but the lack of really great High Def quality games. Don't get me wrong between this my Plastation and my WiiU this certainly keeps me playing at the best of times I love the controller reminds me of an early Xbox controller and at the right weight. Cost may be excessive but with 6months battery life between each charge it's a must in my eyes.

    Better than expected!

    • Written by Murphy M from Ketchum

When I first got my Apple TV 4th gen, I liked the Siri Remote for the games I got, and I played a few times a week, but then I decided to buy my first MFi controller! The SteelSeries Nimbus Wireless Gaming Controller! Because of the types of games on the TVOS App Store, I was kinda skeptical about how well the games would convert, and what the extra buttons do, if anything; plus, I mean, the Siri Remote has the Play/Pause button, the touch pad, the clicking of the touch pad, and the motion sensor in it (I might be missing one.) That's 4 buttons. This controller has X, Y, A, B, Right Stick, Left Stick, Menu button, D-Pad, and two "bumpers" on each side. But most every game I've played with it on ATV4 has become MUCH more like a gaming console. A must-need for Apple Gamers. I see a bright future for games on the TVOS App Store!

Last tid-bit, this controller is kinda like an XBOX 360 Controller, but a bit smaller. Easy set-up, and easy on-off switch. Thank you for reading!

    Amazing controller!!!

    • Written by Sonya H from Baldwinsville

The Nimbus is one of the most comfortable controllers out there. I bought it to play Asphalt 8 on my Apple TV and it works flawlessly. There is no lag, and the controls are spot on. It cannot double as a steering wheel. The whole point of a controller is to get more precise control. The included Siri remote is what you want to use if you want to steer by turning your hands. This controller seems to be getting bad reviews from people who aren't used to playing actual video games. The Nimbus is for people who want traditional video game control and feel. I have multiple charging cables. One came with the new Apple TV. Problem solved.

Apple, encourage more support for the Nimbus. As an avid gamer, the Nimbus and my iPad have become my go to portable gaming rig. I don't touch my PlayStation Vita anymore. Nimbus owners, download the Nimbus app and when synced to the controller, it allows for firmware updates. The app also shows what App Store games support the Nimbus. It's made finding those games easier.

I picked this up for my iPad Pro after a friend recommended it. It works even better than I had hoped! Syncs immediately with my iPad when turned on and has it's own app with a ton of compatible games. Lightweight but definitely solid and well built.
