Best Prosumer RAID on the market

Sorry Joseph L from Colorado Springs that you have a poor experience with this RAID, but the fault that you lost everything is upon you, not the RAID box. Learn how to use RAIDs correctly for their given purpose. I have two R4s, eleven R6s and three R8s, never have a box fail. Sure, had plenty of drives fail, but not a box, and have always been able to rebuild the RAID without any data loss. I use these boxes every day (I work in film and TV production) and highly recommend them.

It's supposed to be a way to safely store info, but it lost mine

About 6 months after the warranty expired, it ruined everything for me. Suddenly no Mac can see the drive. Unfortunately for me, I had stored all my User info on mine running as a RAID 5. I thought that would be safer than leaving my user files on the internal drive. Not so, because now I can't log into my Mac Pro using my account at all. I had to set up a new account to even log in to try to repair the disk. It would finally show up in Disk Utility after several hours but then it said it couldn't be repaired. Finally it let me see the contents, and if I had another Drive just like this full of new HD's to copy all my data to, maybe I could salvage my info. As it stands I would need to spend $1,500 to get the same amount of storage to transfer it over to. I've tried everything. I can't access any of my time capsule backups. Basically, I put my trust in Raid 5 on this and it completely failed to protect me from anything. Ion fact the cause of all my problems appears to be a hardware issue with the Pegasus 2 R4 and it has wasted so far four days of time trouble shooting and doing without my files.
