    When it works it’s great

Setup is easy, operation is easy, but the product just isn’t reliable and has to be re-booted regularly. These plugs drop the connection to the router (Apple Airport Time Capsule) far too frequently and the only way to get them to re-connect is to unplug the switch and plug it back in...usually in the dark while cursing as you blindly feel for the outlet. These switches don’t always play nicely with Alexa, but do work well with Siri. I have three and regret the purchase. There are more reliable products on the market in the same price range.

They lose connection most of the time

Dont buy this product, it is flawed and lose connection most of the time. In the end, you will just end up with manually switch it on and off with huge frustration. It is totally a waste of money.

Cannot get it setup in HomeKit

My initial attempts to setup the outdoor switch have ended in failure. I’ve followed all the settings advice for the iDevices app and iCloud setup and ran thru the setup instructions. When I get to the point where it logs the device into the network it seems too work, with a flashing green light that lasts for a second which then turns off. The iDevices app then attempts to find accessories again and fails to do so. At this point I’m stuck. There no indication that the switch is available for HomeKit in either the iDevices app or the HomeKit app. And what’s worse yet, there’s no instructions on how to troubleshoot this other that to make sure the settings are set correctly. Note that I’ve reset my network routers, a pair of AirPort Extremes, and still this switch is not working. I have a Phillips Hue bridge and a Koogeek plug, both working on HomeKit. One more thing, I have the same problem with my EcoBee 3 thermostat so there’s a connection there somehow. Oh, and one last thing. I can see and ping the iDevices switch using the Net Analyzer app.

    Great switch and night light

This thing is great! I use it to control a hot water recirculation pump. Homekit makes it super-easy to set up and program so it only comes on when someone is home. There is also a convenient manual switch on it in case you need to force it on when you do not have your iphone/iPad nearby.

It is a really good value. It also includes a separately addressable night light.

    Waste of money

Wish I could return it. It only works with the iDevices app. None of the scenes I set up work. It only works when you are home and phone is connected to home WiFi. Will only work on set up phone. Every other phone can’t detect the device. Amazon’s Alexa Dot couldn’t detect the device either.

    Not reliable

Every time I come home from work I try to turn on lights or the air conditioner and the devices don’t respond, I regret purchasing them after I saw positive reviews. When they do work it’s kinda cool, but I’ll be sitting there for 30 min waiting for the device to respond which it’s like what’s the point of even having something like this then.

Easy setup (RTFM) and works great - even in Costa Rica

I was frustrated trying to set this up initially - and finally broke down and read the brief instructions. Just had to push one button on the device and then it was a piece of cake. I use it with an Apple Airport Extreme router (it automatically chose the correct band, while my computers etc. stayed on the faster one) and an Apple TV G4 and can control it from work or even from another country. I have it set up to turn the lights on shortly before I arrive home on week days on schedule, then from upstairs at bedtime I tell Siri to turn them off. No problems whatsoever, even with dodgy electric supply and internet connection in Costa Rica. And I can move it from one lamp to another one without losing any of the settings. Now I'm trying to figure out where I could use another one. Highly recommended.

    They work great!!

I have 6 of the switches, 4 in-wall light switches and 1 in-wall plug. They all work great. Very little time to install and set up. Have had no problems at all. Use the iDevice app to set up and then use Home to turn on or off. I use the schedule function on the iDevice app the do all my schedules. Easier than the Home app. Would highly recommend all the iDevice items.

    Reliable and easy

I've had 6 of them for more than 8 months now. Very reliable and easy to set up. I'd prefer the plug come from the bottom, rather than the side, but that's a matter of taste I think.

    Works!

Great customer service. Connection with my wifi gets spotty. I believe it's time to upgrade my router, not an issue with idevices. Love that the switch lets me control several different lights, connected to the switch with a power strip.

Great product and even better support

We use this to control driveway lights so our transformer timers are not on all the time. Absolutely love these products.

    Junk

Have had for 6 or so months. Inconsistently functional. Set up arduous. Software terrible. Going in the trash. Interesting that all the bad reviews are stuck at the bottom.

    Ensure to download iDevices App

I had some trouble with connectivity at first.
It disconnected quite often and I had to reset the devices.
Then I downloaded iDevices App, updated firmware and it works great now.
You are able to set up automation in order to control several devices at the same time with Siri or HomeKit.

    Siri support and low profile

One of the clear advantages to this smart switch, aside form the HomeKit and Siri support) is the way the outlet is put on the side of the device. This allows for a much better placement in a narrow space since you can run the plug parallel to the wall instead of perpendicular. The night light is a neat addition, but not noticeable when you have this hidden behind some furniture. This product is recommend.

    Best of HomeKit switches

Of the available HomeKit switches/outlets, the iDevices in the best. It is well thought out both from a hardware and software perspective and is easily more reliable than some other brands.

In addition to providing app/Home/Siri control over an outlet (I've used this with a lamp, christmas lights and slow cookers), it also has a physical on/off button for when you don't want to grab your phone etc. It also has an adjustable color LED night light (which the kids love) and energy monitoring with historical data.

Either in the iDevices app or the Home app, you can schedule time/location based events, such as turning on the lights when you get home from work, but only after sunset, which is what I do. All in all, a reliable device with more polish than the competitors.

    Consistently Great

I've got loads and loads of HomeKit compatible devices, and some of them are just not that reliable. They'll work most of the time, but sometimes I'll find them slow to respond or disconnected from the network and needing a power cycle (looking at you Hunter Fans). The iDevices switch has never given me any trouble, and I couldn't ask for much more, but the app is also killer and even shows me energy usage - a $20 dollar value in and of itself. They really hit it out of the park!

    Great Product

Not sure what the people with the bad reviews are doing wrong. Mine works great. I first tried with one, then added 3 more. Works fine remotely too. With Siri you need something like AppleTV for remote control, but even that works fine. We've used them for two 2-week vacations, all without a hitch, and about a dozen weekend ones since getting them working flawlessly.

And yes I've tried a few other manufacturers plugs all with limited success -- most don't last two weeks before they hang and need to be unplugged and plugged in (hard to do when you're away). Since I'm pleased with this I'll next get their switch product to control the outside lights.

    Works great once set up

These can be a little "fiddley" to set up, but once that is done I have found them to be quite reliable. The recent addition of energy consumption monitoring is really nice. My one real gripe is pricing. $99 seems a lot for the new outlets and wall switches.

    Works Great With HomeKit!

I purchased one of these and then immediately bought another. They integrate great with the HomeKit app and home automation functions. I can't wait to try out the new hard wired wall switches also.
