Oh dear - read this to avoid heartache and get the right keyboard

Bought this with the PRO. Was really pleased with it with travel on the keys, backlit and the ability to call up the Siri function. Lots of protection for the device and although heavy was content.
HOWEVER THE DEVICE SCRATCHES THE SCREEN OF THE IPAD. This is totally unacceptable and resulted in me getting a full refund from the Apple Store and purchasing the Apple keyboard. It also had a short lag.
Now the Apple keyboard has a 'dead flesh' feel and you cannot access the Siri function without a laborious workaround. My solution now is to use an Apple standalone Bluetooth keyboard and carry the iPad around with the Apple case only. The proper keyboard is absolutely on the money and while it means carrying two items then my productivity is improved.
Logitech - please redesign this great keyboard so that it is fit for purpose. I would give zero stars if I could.
NB - cannot fault the Apple Store team in Leeds that gave me a full refund and were fully understanding in replacing the iPad.

    Buyer Beware

bought November and quite happy but have noticed that my beautiful iPad Pro is being damaged by the case. Scratch across both top & bottom (portrait is the way the case works). Full width of screen. Just thought I hadn't cleaned it properly till I looked closely. Also on the back which you never look at it's all scratched. VERY POOR.

    Damages iPad Pro 12.9

Be very careful purchasing this keyboard. The one I received, received in January from Apple.com, has done significant damage to my iPad Pro 12.9. The metal casing on the keyboard has worn straight line scratches the length of my screen along the edge of the keyboard. To make this problem even worse I've had no luck in speaking with anyone at Apple who can resolve this issue. Frankly I'm shocked Apple would continue to sell and endorse an accessory that damages and degrades the customer experience of one of their flagship products. I look to them to have stricter quality controls.

Logitech create keyboard scratching iPad Pro screen

Love the iPad Pro, as I wasn't able to get the apple keyboard at time of release, sales rep at Apple Store suggested the Logitech create, it was endorsed by Apple and my understanding is Apple gave input into its design. Well 4 months into using the keyboard, it's scratched my iPad Pro screen. When you close the case, the palm rest design touches the screen and over time I believe their is constant small movement that leaves a gloss line on the screen. Tried cleaning to no effect. I'm going to be talking to Apple tomorrow and see if I can get this addressed. It was advertised to protect the ape pro. It's a shame that design team didn't discover this at testing.
Haven't heard back from Logitech, very disappointed.
Spent over 1000 pound on this iPad Pro and I hope apple takes back keyboard and allows me to upgrade it to the Apple keyboard and replaces the now damaged iPad Pro.

    Great Design and Functionality

This keyboard case transformed my iPad Pro into a laptop substitute for most of my business purposes. Though I own a MacBook Pro, I am able to accomplish 90% of my work with this iPad/Logitech combination. Very good tactile feel when typing, effective backlighting, and useful keys for screen brightness, sound and media control. After using it for several months, I am very satisfied, and have not experienced any "scratching" issues discussed by some reviewers -- and I open/close my keyboard-cover many times a day... every day.

Damages screen - avoid! Effecting many people.

After 3 months use the palm rest of the keyboard has badly scuffed the screen of the iPad Pro. There is an obvious mark the full width of the screen.
The US apple.com and Amazon reviews show many people with this problem.
    Avoid this product.

Danger! It damages your ipad pro!

Types very wel and protects your ipad for damage from the outside world. But watch out it is a wolf in sheep's clothing it damages for ever your screen within months! Long stripes on the upper and lower part of your screen. I am now in the process to activate Logitech to take responsibility for this faulty product.

    Logitech CREATE Keyboard -almost perfect

A great keyboard. Perfect for typing. I am a touch typist and it is flawless. All necessary keys and functions. Great feel. Backlite is great.
    Only 2 negatives:
    1. On the heavy side - almost like carrying a laptop .
    2. It DOES scratch the screen. A line just below the space bar ....leaving marks on the screen. However, I have a screen protector on so I can live with it. Annoying though.
If Logitech could improve on weight and correct point 2. Perfect!

    Very Good with One Flaw

A very good keyboard except that the screen does sit against the palm rest, as others have commented. I have been using mine for a few weeks now and it hasn't scratched the screen as some have reported, but I am now taking the precaution of putting in place a thin, soft screen-cleaning cloth to prevent any possibility of this. I firstly tried a small detached Logitech keyboard (A$78.00) which meant the iPad was free to use as a tablet (which is an advantage), but I then needed to purchase a separate cover, which would be dearer than the keyboard, and, furthermore, the detached keyboard seemed to use more power on Bluetooth (although I can't swear to that). And so I thought about the Apple keyboard which does not completely enclose the iPad (and so you still need a back cover), and then ended up choosing the Logitech Create keyboard - I prefer the Logitech with its complete cover, its steeper angle (which some didn't like), its backlit keys, and its extra function keys. The weight is not an issue for me, because it is still very lightweight and easy to carry in a 13inch bag, compared to a laptop with its heavy charger and cords.

Initially very good, then discovered the damage to my screen

Very happy initially with this item, as it was a good keyboard and provided seemingly excellent protection for the iPad Pro. Later, started to notice the reliability of connection with the iPad Pro was not as good and the unit had to be on 100% level surface to catch every keystroke. When cleaning my screen today, I noticed a terrible rub mark on the screen of my device. This aligns perfectly with the top of the palm rest of the keyboard. Currently in the process of making a Genius Bar appointment, to see if Apple will do anything (purchased both items from the Apple Store).

    cheap case

After only 1 day of use, I decided to return it. The keyboard is ok, but the case is very difficult to use.

    Types flawlessly

I love this keyboard for typing. The keys are exactly the same as any MacBook, so it feels just like a laptop, and the large iPad is well supported. Another nice feature that not everyone knows about, is that the return key is magnetized and can hold the cap for your iPencil while it is plugged into your device syncing. I have not had any issues with keys skipping or losing a connection. I also haven't had any issues with marks on the screen. The only negative is that it adds a little weight to the iPad, and it doesn't fold over that flat when using it as a tablet.
It's not bad though. If you are going to type a lot, this is probably the keyboard you want to get. I found it to be very stable while typing on my lap and while in bed. The apple smart keyboard has a great slim look and feel to it, but it is a little more flimsy and the iPad isn't supported at as good an angle as the Logitech. It lays back a little too far with the apple keyboard. Also, really love the quick keys and shortcuts on the keyboard. I don't know why apple didn't find a way to incorporate that in theirs.

    Logitech Keyboard Case

I've had this case for a week now, I have NOT had any of the issues people are talking about. I'm using it right now, no missed keystrokes EVER, I love the case design, sound is great, design is great, thin design, love the connection type. IPad Pro imidiately recognized the keyboard, it's been smooth sailing ever since. I have large hands, and I still manage to type pretty effortlessly. So easy to take with you anywhere and work, would not want any other case.If this one somehow breaks, don't see that happening anytime soon. I will not HESITATE to get another. Hopefully they will still be available if I need one. Love the Back Lighted keyboard ! I Would Recommend 100 Percent all day, every day. 0 Issues in Over A Week Of Use ! With this case and the Apple Pencil, I am in IPad Pro Heaven !!!

Scratches the Screen. Logitech Support Unhelpful.

While I first thought the product was great, with a thick protective cover for the iPad and a realistic keyboard to type on, I have to give this product one star because it produces a long scratch in the screen where the palm rest of the keyboard touches the glass when the case is closed. Logitech support was unhelpful in reaching any resolution, drawing it out for weeks with emails back and forth, requesting multiple additional pictures, etc. I finally just went back to the Apple store and returned the product, even though it doesn't change the fact that there is now a long scratch down the screen. I am not a heavy user. I would recommend that you NOT purchase this product. It will ruin your iPad screen.

Yes, it does scratch the screen!

Below the spacebar, there is a metal area which rubs against the screen when you close it. I've had my iPad since December and noticed this "line" across the top of the screen. Before, I could clean it off, but now there are permanent scratches on the screen. I tried putting a cloth over the metal area, but there is a magnet that secures the closure and the cloth prevents it from locking. Too bad, the keyboard works great otherwise.

    Leaves Linear Scratches on Display

When I first got this keyboard, it was alright. The keys don't register sometimes and I find myself having to frequently retype things. After using it for a few months, I noticed a line on my display that wasn't cleaning off with a microfiber cloth; it was a permanent scratch caused by the metal palm ridge of the Logitech keyboard rubbing the oleophobic coating off of the iPad to expose the raw glass.

To stop this problem from getting worse, I recommend putting a long strip of clear tape over the palm ridge of the keyboard to prevent it from rubbing against the display when the keyboard case is closed. The tape is softer and smoother than the metal and should prevent the glass of the display from being scratched. This is very poorly designed; the palm ridge is the first thing to touch when the case is closed; the rubber bar at the top of the case touches second.

Permanent mark on my $1000 iPad Pro!

I am so upset and angry! This is totally unacceptable and I will be complaining to Logitech too.

This should NOT be sold in an Apple Store.

Bummer, too, because Logitech usually has such good products.

    I'm Perplexed???....

So I've been reading all the reviews of the Logitech CREATE Backlit Keyboard Case for the 12.9 inch iPad Pro. I have to be honest, I'm a bit confused by all the negative reviews? I bought my iPad Pro & Logitech Keyboard at the same time in early January 2016. So far I've absolutely loved it! After reading about how it scratched screens, I got concerned so I did my own critical check of my iPads screen. To my happy surprise, I haven't found any scratches, permanent or otherwise. I really scrutized the screen in the process. I did my homework and compared this keyboard to the Apple keyboard before purchasing and there were some things about the Logitech one that really stood out for me. The keyboard is backlit, very key for no to low light environments. It protects the front and back of the iPad Pro which is awesome! The Logitech keyboard has more functions than the Apple keyboard. The price of the Logitech keyboard is less than the Apple keyboard and yet these items that I've mentioned are key differences that stood out for me in choosing the Logitech keyboard. If the Apple keyboard mirrored these items I've listed about the Logitech, I have a feeling I would have made a different choice, but as it stands it doesn't.

    Damaged screen

Worked fine as a keyboard, nice backlit screen.

Has left permanent damage to my screen. It seems I'm not the only one. Left linear marks which line up to the pressure points on the keyboard. Do not come off with cleaning...and one part there seems to be an actual chip.

Do not recommend. 0 stars. Will be ordering apple keyboard.

Left a mark on my ipad pro

DO NOT buy this case! It has left a permanent smear on my ipad pro along the right edge. It appears that the front of the keyboard rubs against the ipad while in the case.
