    A Great Start to Automating Your Home

    I installed my August Smart Lock this evening and could not be happier. Installation was easy with one exception for me, my Schlage deadbolt's screws were to short to install the lock orignially but I quickly found the answer to my problem on August's website and they quickly sent me longer screws for free (seems I have one of the few models which requires this). HomeKit setup was easy and works great. I will update this review later with how it performs long term.

    Works well and would make the purchase again...

    So I have had this lock for 6 months and can tell you we use it heavily. The auto unlock feature has worked without fail...every singe time we arrive at the house; with a prompt notification on my phone. The connection feature with wifi has worked flawlessly. If I had to give constructive criticism, it would be that the batteries have been changed 2 times over the course of 6 months. That said, I have to reemphasize that we use this door and the locking mech. heavily. I would definitely make the purchase again and overall enjoy the lock.

    A great lock!

    Simple installation! Close to about 5 mins to have it installed and running. The integration with Siri for automated is pretty awesome. I have no complaints and look forward to expand to more of their products!

    Auto-Unlock

    The Auto-Unlock is by far my favorite feature of this product. I ride my bike to work and back and it was always a pain digging through my bag for my keys. I love being able to get a notification directly from my apple watch telling me the door is unlocked while I am putting my bike away and then walking inside my home without fumbling for keys.

    The installation was very easy, and currently I have the first generation and have had it for a year now, but I am saving up to get the home kit version :)

    No HomeKit support for IOS10

    This product prides of being "HomeKit" enabled. and it was. but since the iOS 10 was introduced - the homekit support is gone!! software reviews are at zero stars because many of us customers are pretty frustrated with this company lack of support for iOS10!
