    Cute but won't work

    • Written by steven H from New York

The robot was more complicated to assemble than I thought it would be, making me wonder if a child as young as 8 or 9 could do it.
Now that's it's assembled, I am unable to get the robot to charge and I have no idea why. No online support appears to be available and there are no printed references. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot. Looks like it will be a very expensive desk ornament. Too bad--it's a great idea!
Wish I know who to contact!

    Don't buy it

    • Written by Amanda L from London

I bought this as the main present for my daughter for Christmas. What was supposed to be a special gift that we would build together and play with - is still not working two weeks later. The battery doesn't work which I suspect from their website is a common problem.

It's not worth the money and has left us very frustrated and disappointed.

Awesome Idea, Shame it won't work.

    • Written by Donna F from Barraba

We brought 2 of these for our daughters for christmas. We spent hours of fun putting them together as a family, only to be disappointed when we put them on charge for a few hours to discover that both battery packs will not charge. i have since been researching online and it seems to be a common problem. Its a real shame as these robots could be awesome fun and education for kids. I am disappointed that a company as big as UBTECH would continue to sell a product with such a huge fault. Apple you may want to discontinue the sale off this product until UBTECH have sorted the problem out.

    • Written by L L from Woodbridge

Bought as a Christmas present for my 9 year old son, he was very excited when we started to build it (parent help definitely required) looked great when complete but would not move - the battery doesn't seem to charge :0(((( Contacted a friend who had bought the same for their son and they are experiencing the same, two very disappointed children - not a cheap gift ! I have now emailed the support team and am awaiting a response, wouldn't recommend this seems to be a common fault !

    Battery doesn't charge

    • Written by Victor N from Bilambil Heights

Bought this product for my son for Christmas After building the robot found it would not work as the battery appeared not to have charged. Put back on charge to find that the battery is flashing red and green. After searching for a solution on line found a suggestion to remove the battery and reseat. Did this with no change. Logged a fault with the support staff, after three days of no response, returned to Apple at Robina who replaced without question, took home and plugged the battery unit in first to check to find that it was also flashing red and green. will give the support staff a couple more days and will then return to apple for full refund. Great idea but very disappointing for a Christmas present. Support service non existent. Apple were great but Ubtech not so.

    Jimu Meebot

    • Written by Alec S from Fitzroy North

Worked initially, but battery wouldn't charge. Red light then Red/Green flashing. The Meebot was reassembled to ensure all connections were good, including the unreliable battery fastening system. Now the switch won't even turn it on. No response from multiple attempts to contact support via email.

Battery Problem (4 of last 9 reviews).

    • Written by Nigel K from Isle of Man

Put this together with 9 year old. As others say, great package, quality and instructions. All fine until you try and turn it on, to encounter unsolvable, oh so frustrating battery problem.
I was fairly annoyed, I don't get a lot of time with the kids, and to spend so long without the bang at the end, grrrrr. But then I checked reviews here , to find almost half have the exact same problem. This is just completely unacceptable from apple who are selling faulty products and ubtech who are making them.
Ok, so they will send a replacement, but I have to contact them, wait for delivery, remake the bot, and try and kids engaged in something that was so bitterly disappointing first time around. This is a toy aimed at primary kids to get them excited and interested in robots and programming. To make and sell something like that with a faulty battery is a complete and utter betrayal of the values both companies espouse. I guess someone may have got a bigger bonus by putting a cheaper battery pack in though, so there is an upside.

Apple , Ubtech, this is a shambles

    Another faulty battery

    • Written by Peter O from windella

This product is obviously suffering from a lot of faulty batteries to the point that it is the very first question in the FAQs for the product. The solution to take it out for 1-2 minutes and then keep trying a few times. Madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
Very disappointed when you pay this much for a product.

Cannot even walk in straight line

    • Written by Theam Wah L from Singapore

MeeRobot cannot walk forward in a straight line. It always veers to the left. It is clearly a software bug that can be fixed through app update. Feedback to UBTECH but they are not doing anything. Disappointed that Apple Store carries such product that fails to even perform basic function correctly. Definitely avoid UBTECH product in future.

Great product until battery stops working

    • Written by YALDA C from LONDON

My 8 year old son has really enjoyed playing with this, however the battery stopped holding charge - it simply flashes red and green forever. Having spoken with the company UBTECH I was told that this commonly happens and the battery will need to be replaced. There is no UK supplier of the battery which in the US is $22, but they put me in contact with their China office who offered it for $75!!! PLUS SHIPPING. At that price I could buy a whole new robot but then I wont because the battery wouldn't last on that one either. A rip off!

    Great Product

    • Written by Andrew H from Minneapolis

App directions made is extremely easy to get my robot built and running. It works great and looks nice on my shelf when i'm not deconstructing and creating my own bots. 5/5

    Great Product and App

    • Written by Colin B from Minneapolis

The app design is designed well, it's easy to navigate, and makes the process of building your robot easy to execute. Fun product with great educational capabilities!

    Challenging but fun

    • Written by Nicolas W from Minneapolis

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this up, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and build of the components once I started building it with my kid. It's definitely a learning experience with a fun outcome. The app is beautiful, however it does take some time to get a full understanding of everything.

    Great product!

    • Written by Rebecca N from southampton

This kit is a great intro to coding! The app is really well designed with 3D instructions which meant it was easy to navigate and build the robot. It took just under an hour to make him, which isn’t bad. It’s good fun for kids to see it come to life and you can make it perform crazy dances and things either by coding it or using pre-programmed movements on the app. I would try the newer Tankbot kit as well based on this experience. I’m not sure what problem the previous reviewer had with the battery but I haven’t had any issues.

    Fun Toy/App For Kids

    • Written by Oliver L from cupertino

Just got this Meebot Kit today and I love it! I bought this robot for my nieces and it took us about two and a half hours to make. The app makes it super easy to assemble and my nieces really enjoy all of the robot dances. I think this will be their new favorite toy for a while.

Easy to build right out of the kit. The actions are fun and somewhat silly. Was a great gift for my young cousins who like building and playing around with their tablet.

    Very creative product

    • Written by Robert H from Placentia

I bought a Meebot kit for my 9-year-old nephew at Glendale apple store . He got super excited once we opened the package and we spent about 3 hours assembling it. My nephew enjoys assembling it and watching it dance. He even created a hat for the robot. He is probably going to be creating his own model soon.
