    Extremely limited product support.

I continue to have an issue with installing Parallels 12 on to my system. I'm sure it's just something simple I'm missing but they have no means of contacting anyone directly to help. I tried Apple support and the third party provider they suggested with no luck. I have gone back to using Boot Camp. I'm not impressed and feel the purchase was a complete waste of money.

    Superb piece of software

If you want to make the jump from Windows to macOS but you still need essential Windows programs then fear not! Parallels Desktop is an excellent piece of software for the job. It allows you to run a virtual Windows machine within macOS and gives you the ability to run all of your Windows programs on your new Mac. You're able to independently allocate different hardware specs to the Windows machine (e.g: if your Mac has 16GB of RAM you could allocate just 8GB to Windows). I would definitely recommend this to anyone making the switch from Windows to macOS that needs to keep certain apps that are required for educational or business use for example. The only thing you need to have is the Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac software and a new Windows license key (which can be anything from Windows 7 up to Windows 10). The setup process is straightforward and allows the user to purchase a new license key for Windows during the setup process if the user doesn't already have one. I would highly recommend Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac.

    v12 is a DOWNGRADE from v11

V12 is a downgrade and they even make you pay for it.
After upgrading, it tells me i cannot allocate more than 4 CPUs and 8 GB RAM to a
VM. I did that in V11. And it worked fine. Now you need to buy the pro version to
unlock this which comes with a yearly subscription fee. Are you kidding?

    Going with VMWARE FUSION now!

    Not to be trusted

This started out as a good program, and then Parallels got greedy. Every time Mac updated its software, you lost features in Parallel, unless you paid to upgrade to a newer version. Finally, the software became completely dysfunctional. Files in Mac were not available in Windows. So my Sync program with the server at my office became worthless. I could not open files in both Mac and Windows, even though the files could be seen in Windows. When I checked with Parallels, they said it was their way of forcing me to pay for an upgrade. In other words, it was deliberate. They could have sent out a patch or an update to fix the problem, but it was more profitable to force me to pay to upgrade. Sorry guys, I will not be held hostage until I pay the ransom, which you admitted will occur every time Mac upgrades the operating system. So given the choice of never upgrading my Mac operating system to avoid paying your upgrade fee, or living without Parallels, I'd rather live without Parallels. I'm doing a clean install of the Mac as I write this to get Parallels and Windows off my machine.

Windows 7 "just works" on my Mac

I use Parallels Desktop each day to run Windows only engineering programs and some corporate web software that only runs on Internet Explorer. Using Coherence view the experience is seamless and I can leave the Windows 7 virtual machine running most of the time even with only 8MB memory on my MacBook Pro. Parallels Desktop lets me do most of my work on my Mac where I want to be and in Windows when I have to be. I wouldn't be without it now.

    Simply the best.

I have been using Parallels since version 6 and it is by far the best way to run Windows or Linux operating systems with the minimum of fuss and greatest of ease of switching and sharing resources. It also means I can try out over systems and discard them without compromising the security of my iMac.%0D%0AWithout it I would either need to some other products which have not been satisfactory of maintain a separate PC with associated overheads and no sharing of resources. I still have a couple of programmes that are not compatible with Mac and even some web sites which don%5C%27t display properly so access to Windows is still a necessity.

    Excellent software

I have used this software at work as well as for personal applications, and am very happy with this product. It's relatively easy to set up, runs very smoothly, and has some pretty neat features that make it my go-to virtual machine (I particularly enjoy coherency mode). It's so much handier than having to re-boot into a bootcamp partition like I used to have. Definitely would recommend this product to anyone in need of running Windows on Mac.

    Good and reliable product

I use Parallels may years and find it extremely useful and user friendly. For me it is essential as some of the software I need to use has no Mac OS based equivalent. I can recommend it to anyone needed VM for x-operating systems utilization.

Parallels has raised the bar. Again!

Over time, Parallels has grown from a somewhat buggy and, albeit, clunky "second behind the rest" hypervisor to a true First Class leader in the world of Desktop Virtualization...absolutely hands down!

I'm a huge VMWare Server Virtualization guy so naturally you would think VMWare Fusion would be my first and only choice when it comes to Desktop Virtualization, right? Wrong! Parallels has constantly blown Fusion out of the water in almost every regard...and this is coming from a diehard VMWare "fanboy" (...yeah I said it. Lol!). The latest release of Parallels Desktop for Mac has hurdled over VMWare Fusion by leaps and bounds in performance, speed of VM load time and stability. I can leave my VMs open and running on my Mac full-time and not be concerned with degradation of performance of my Mac Host OS environment. I tried doing the same with Fusion and it drove me nuts with the effect it had on my OS.

I am a proud user of Parallels Desktop for Mac and have seen their positive growth first hand. I look forward to their continued improvements and advancements in the Desktop Virtualization space and can't wait to see what they come with next.

    Their best product yet!

I love this product! If I didn't have Parallels I would have to have a second or third computer on my desk it runs the software I need. With Parallels I have virtualize Windows 10, MacOS Sierra, Windows 7, MacOS El Capitan and a few more. I use Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition on a regular basis for development and testing. The one touch tools make it easy to do many tasks. Parallels has really thought out this release of their software for developers. It's their best product yet for developers!

    The Best Virtual Machine

I am using Parallels already for a long time
It never disappointed me, or let me down.
Parallels starts very fast, faster than the computer running only the virtual OS.
It is easy to install and adjust to your preference, updates are very smooth.
In case there are any issues found (which almost never happens) the support team responds very fast.
It gives you the benefits of the reliability of the Mac OSX and the advantage that the outside world thinks that only the virtual OS is running.

I get the best of two worlds The Mac and a PC

I am a Mac owner but also have several projects that require the use of Windows. I was lucky enough to be included in the Beta testing of the Mac Pro edition of Parallels 12. I have had some issues in the past with some windows not displaying correctly. Parallels 12 was right on It was Great. Now Parallels also includes a Tool Kit for doing things like converting video, taking screen shots, turning your mike on and off and more. I have been a Parallels user for years and in my opinion this is the best to date. I would recommend this to any Mac user who needs to venture into the Windows world from time to time.

    Pinnacle Studio Runs Well.

I expected Parallels would do well running Microsoft Office 365, Adobe CC and other mainline software I was running on Windows 10 and was not let down. What surprised me is how well Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate runs, which probably tests the Windows graphics device driver compatibility more than most applications.

Just as fast as a native system

"I work for the US government and telework frequently. The office has a limited number of laptops for telework, so I use my Mac and Parallels to manage email and documents. I am required to use Outlook Web Application and a certificate card to view my email. Without any special software, my certificate card is read by the card reader. The MS 10 system works very smoothly with only a few glitches, but I don't attribute them to Parallels as I have the same issues at work. All of my applications run quickly, sometimes faster than on my native machine. Overall, this is a great compromise to having a second machine to lug around."

    Fantastic Features and Superb Support!

Ever since I switched to Apple's Intel-based MacBook Pros in May of 2006, Parallels Desktop has been the go-to solution for all of my virtualization needs! While there are native Mac versions of almost all the applications I use in the course of my daily work, there are a few that are only available for the Windows platform. Plus, when Apple releases a new version of macOS, I can load up a copy in a Parallels Desktop VM and make sure all my development tools function property BEFORE I install the upgrade on my primary machine.

Parallels has consistently pushed the features set envelope with each and every release producing a truly best-in-class virtualization product. I have been a loyal customer since 2006 - when it was known as Parallels Workstation. I have installed and used every version of the product since that day and have NEVER been disappointed. The "New Virtual Machine" wizard, the process of creating a VM and loading up an operating system couldn't be easier! If you are setting up a LINUX, Chromium or Android VM the wizard will do EVERYTHING for you. Intuitive defaults are used when sharing files between your virtual machine and host environment, but if you want to tweak any of the settings they are intuitive and simple to configure! Coherence mode is an amazing feature that lets you run applications inside a virtual machine but you interact with them as if they were running along side of native Mac apps!

From time to time, I will load up some of the other products available on the market today (both commercial and open source), but they always find their way to the recycle bin. Parallels Desktop for Mac continues to earn a permanent place in the Applications folder on my Mac!

    Must Have App

I'm an iOS and .net developer and have to switch between the two worlds every day. The new version of Parallels Desktop supports me at work and brings the two worlds together. The performance is even better then the previous version and the Tools are just great. Parallels Desktop is a Must Have App for every person who has to switch between these two worlds.
