Unable to communicate with the plug after a power outage.

Like the title states, after a power outage the plug is useless, one must reset and add the plug again, waste of time...

    Terrible support

    • Written by Gary T from Innisfil

I hope the most recent software and OS fix the problem of constantly disconnecting. I emailed for support and it took so long for them to reply that I had (5 days) tried many things on my own. I found, with this product, that resetting it and then connection it to the WiFi network using IOS settings first, fixe the problem. Their answer was exactly what did not work.

    Falls short

    • Written by Andrew B from Peterborough

This is a great idea in theory. I bought it and when it arrived I needed phone assistance from iHome support to set it up. Once it was up and running it worked alright. Once added to the Home app you're supposed to be able to ask Siri to turn lights or whatever you're plugging into it on or off. Most of the time Siri can't communicate with it so I was left to manually engage the device over the Home app. We had a power outage today and although the iHome plug wasn't damaged it stopped working. Following every step perfectly it refused to connect again after almost 4 hours of coming back again over and over to make it work. Returning it tomorrow.
