I have had this case for more than 1 year and it is wonderful!

    • Written by Stephen C G from Miami Beach

I travel the world with case and it has been exceptional. I have nothing negative to say and can't understand the negative reviews as I use mine everyday, both with and without the keyboard. I have never had any issues with the iPad playing music when stored, or draining the battery. I honestly have no idea what these people are talking about?

Pros: Excellent protective case that lock the iPad Pro in place. Great location for Apple Pencil (version 1). Backlit keyboard is excellent and I would not get a keyboard without it. Function keys on keyboard are excellent. Ability to adjust viewing angle to the widest range I have ever seen.

    Cons: None

    Exactly as Advertised

I ordered this cas so i could turn my iPad into a portable, lightweight and easy to use laptop that twinned as a tablet. I can use it in the studios I work in and it protects my iPad and iPencil when I’m not using them. Typing on the keyboard is just like using the MacBooks in feel and mildly in looks. I feel the product is sturdy and is just what I was looking for - I would definitely recommend it. Delivery was amazing and swift the day after I bought it and customer service were incredibly helpful.

    Great, but not perfect

    • Written by Jonathan M from Champlin

I didn’t know what the smart connect was when I bought my iPad Pro 10.5. I knew I wanted a keyboard and I spent a lot of time looking for 3rd party options. There were a few I found that I liked. The Valkit Bluetooth keyboard was probably the best one I found out there. But, this Logitech was immediately a standout. I wasn’t even turned off by the price. Here’s what makes it superb (Keep in mind that the combination of these features make it what it is).
    1. Smart Connect (no charging, it connects via magnet and works right away. No charging is a big plus. This one edges out the apple keyboard because it adds some protection and costs less.
    2. The case allows for an adjustable screen angle with an impressive range. It even has a portrait position if you’re into that sort of thing.
    3. Almost full size keys. Other keyboards have small keys.
    4. Backlit keyboard (maybe seems frivolous, but it’s totally important once you know it exists. It’s also “spillproof’, but I didn’t test that. Proceed with skepticism. Better yet, don’t spill on your keyboard!
    5. There’s a bar above the numbers for quick commands similar to what you’d see on your MacBook. The Valkit uses a Function button to activate.
    6. The case has a firm hold on the iPad so it doesn’t slip, but even better, it interacts with the screen in a way that allows you to have a screen protector on it.

    Here’s what disappointed me
    1. When set up, it’s not incredibly sturdy. If you pick up the iPad, the keyboard is going to fall off. I didn’t think that would be important until it happened. I was more bummed than I would have expected. Also affects using it while on your lap.
    2. It’s kind of bulky. I don’t have concerns about it keeping my iPad safe, but it’s not as slick/slender as I was hoping for when bundled up.

    Love it!

This is a beautiful keyboard to type on and I've been a keyboard operator for many years on one machine or another. It sits on my lap well & I even like the area to rest the wrist whilst typing it's so comfortable.. It is a little heavier than the last Logitech keyboard I had due to the stand but it's not a drama.
I really like the backlighting plus being able to charge the keyboard through the connection between that & the screen without a cable.

It Depends On What You Want...

    • Written by Lynn G from Duluth

I love this case, because I was looking for great protection for my new super-expensive iPad Pro. I was also looking for an amazing, responsive, full-size keyboard that works flawlessly with iOS, and a case that has a place to keep my Apple Pencil handy and safe. I wanted a keyboard case that would give me the ability to use my iPad Pro in place of my MacBook... and yet one that would also easily sit on my lap, without the keyboard, so I can read in bed. I found all of these things in this Logitech Slim Combo case. It is perfect for me, and I could not be happier.
Regarding all the complaints here.... people should not dis this case just because they are looking for something else. If you want solid protection, a great keyboard, support for your Apple Pencil, and versatility for holding/viewing/maneuvering, then you will love this case.

I don't know why people are giving such terrible reviews of this case, because I love it. Yes, the materials aren't as sleek or luxurious feeling as the apple keyboard or other keyboards, but there are plenty of postitives to it.

    1. The case fully protects the ipad. The keyboard does not scratch the screen and all of the corners of the ipad are covered. I have had no problems with the funcionality of the buttons on the iPad. It took one or two tries to get used to the lock button, as it was more flush with the iPad than the volume buttons were, but I have had no real issues with it.
    2. The keyboard is fantastic. It is backlit, which is really nice, and has a lot of useful shortcut keys. You can also detach it easily while still having the ipad protected with the back of the cover. I prefer the Logitech keys over those of the apple keyboard. (It's more of the normal "clicky" keyboard feel).
    3. The case can hold the ipad at almost any angle- the stand on the back its very useful. I get frustrated with the smart covers because they can only really hold the ipad at two angles, and this one can tilt any way you would like!
    4. The pen holder is very nice, I have had no issues with the pencil staying in place.
    5. I know this isn't necessarily a leg up on the apple keyboard, but I like that it magnetically attaches/charges from the ipad so you do not have to worry about battery life.

Overall if you do not mind that it's not as "nice feeling" as some ipad cases, I think you will really enjoy this case. It does add a good amount of thickness, but a lot of protection and functionality. Honestly the materials do not bother me. I bought the iPad and this case in order to replace my MacBook that was on its way out and so far I am thouroughly enjoying it.

    Give an opportunity

    • Written by Sarai M from Miami

Let me tell you saw the reviews on this page and did the thing that you might do..not get it and instead get the apple keyboard, but boy was I wrong. When I had the apple keyboard the ipad wich is very expensive does not feel protected at all. Yes, the case can feel a little bit heavier, but it feels protected. Love the keyboard super effective and gives you the laptop feel. Has the pencil holder wich is convenient. The only downside is that since the keyboard is with a smart connector.....when you are on the go and don't need the keyboard it can get a little awkward. Over all it is excellent for me!!

Liking this keyboard case more every day

    • Written by Jeanette W from Buford

I was hesitant to get this keyboard, at first, because it is so thick but I went ahead and picked one up for my Pro 10.5. The more I use it, the more I like it. The keyboard feels sturdy, love the feel of the keys, and love that I can remove the iPad with the back still on it for protection. Love that it has the pen holder. I have had a pen since I bought the first 12.5 Pro and at the time, none of the cases came with a built in holder so I would always have to search for my pen if I wanted to use it. Now it is always in sight. The case does still seem a bit thick but it also really protects my iPad and it is kind of cute. You never have to charge it or worry about having to change batteries. It is powered from your iPad.

Not perfect, but great alternative to Apple's Smart Keyboard case

    • Written by John P N from Kansas City

There are currently not many IPad Pro 10.5 keyboard cases. Below are a list of Pros and Cons I ran into.

    1. Backstand - The back stand is sturdy and is adjustable at practically any angle. The stand even works on soft surfaces like my bed. This stand is much better than the typical fold out stands in the slimmer folio cases.

    2. Keyboard - The keyboard's backlight is beautiful and the keys are responsive. It snaps on and off with ease, and I have not ran into an issue where it snaps off by accident

    3. Protection - The cover is the actual keyboard, and rests on top of the screen. There is a lip that sticks out from the iPad screen due to the back cover. This prevents the keys from scratching the screen, but provides comple protection.

    4. - Apple Pencil Holder - The pencils holder is located on top of the screen. It has a nice fit for the pencil, and the pencil securely fits. No issues of it being accidentally removed.

    5. Material - Other reviews mention the material, being cheap plastic. While the case is completely plastic, I did not find it cheap. Nothing on this case is flimsy, and the plastic makes this fairly durable.

    1. Thickness - The case is advertise as "slim" but it is not. Like other reviews have stated, it does add bulk to the IPad. It is a bit better when the keyboard is not attached, but even the back case does add bulk and weight. If your are looking for a slim case, this is not the best option.

Overall I enjoy this case very much, It is bulky, but it also protects the case extremely well. Add the adjustable backstand and solid keyboard, I personally can overlook the case's bulkiness I do wish Logitech removed the "slim" branding, which may of contribued to some of the negative reviews.

Not perfect, but better than Apple Keyboard

    • Written by Ward R from Greenville

Biggest complaint is the overall thickness of the keyboard and case. There is a 3-4 mm gap from the iPad screen to the top of the case. This is to accommodate the "hump" on the keyboard when you close it. The keys are in no danger of touching the screen, as the keyboard rests on the outside rim of the case. It works perfectly if you usually cram your iPad into a cramped backpack, and the iPad Pro is protected really well. In a nutshell its designed to close by pulling the iPad down onto the keyboard, then closing the kickstand (like closing the screen on a MacBook etc.)

The stand uses spring hinges, so its fully adjustable from roughly 20 degrees to 110 degrees. This is really nice when using the keyboard on varied surfaces as you can angle it perfectly (i.e. Your lap, a bar table, etc.) The pencil holder works fine too--no risk of it falling out. The real standout however, is the keyboard itself. The fact that its backlit, uses the smart connector and has iPad specific keys (Home, search, screen lock) plus the usual--brightness, play/pause, volume, keyboard brightness is awesome. The keyboard starts to dim after not touching it for 5 seconds, then totally fades out after 8-10. Touching any key again and it's back on (not instant on, it just brightens back up very quickly, like maybe a full second, looks nice).

I think once iOS 11 rolls out this keyboard case will be perfect for someone who is looking to replace the functionality of a MacBook. When I traveled in the past I would need to take my MacBook Air and my iPad Air 2...Then for short trips I was able to just use my iPad Pro 9.7...It was great in a pinch but still couldn't replace my MacBook because the keys are cramped, its not backlit etc, not to mention the lack of functionality in iOS. If I needed to work for more than an hour at a time I would borrow my wife's MacBook Air. Not the case for this keyboard--it is very comfortable to work with for long periods of time.

Once iOS 11 goes live this case, along with my LTE iPad Pro should allow me to finally mothball the MacBook Air.
