    Excellent camera!

    • Written by Chris W from London

I've had this camera for 5 months and the Logitech app has always worked perfectly but the Home app always failed to live stream. That issue has recently been fixed and it now works perfectly however you access it. Intercom feature and ability to watch back is excellent. Definitely recommend. (I use this for security in living room, plus as a motion sensor to activate lights using HomeKit automation)

    Not a good experience

    • Written by Michael H from FLEMING ISLAND

Initial set up went okay, then after about 3 hours and I'm at the airport, camera showed off-line and the recording quit soon after I left the house. When I returned home I went through all the recommended reset steps with no luck. I tried to contact Logitech for support, also no help. Now trying to get return authorization and that's not going well either. Time to move on to another brand.

    Really happy with this product.
I have the wired in version. The picture quality is fantastic and I have no issues with the notifications.

Happy to recommend this to anyone

    Not perfect, but pretty good

    • Written by B V from Colleyville

Let me begin with a caveat. I have owned smart home devices from several manufacturers. My main learning is that you need a good, strong wifi signal at the point where you plan to install the device. IMHO, the wifi connection is the weak point in all smart home devices. Time and again, a power outage, a firmware update, or similar event will cause the devices to lose (and not automatically restore) connectivity. This just seems to be the state of the current technology. So be prepared for a certain amount on ongoing manual intervention.

Having said the above, I've found the Circle 2 to be slightly above average in terms of connectivity. I've unplugged the device, turned off my wifi and performed firmware updates - each several times - just to test how well the Circle 2 recovers. So far, so good. On the functional side, I find the camera's image quality to be great in well-lit rooms, and I find the night vision to be adequate. I haven't seen a camera with truly great night vision, so I've set my expectations accordingly.

Logitech's free plan gives you access to your video footage for the last 24 hours. The software sends you a notification (not an SMS or email) when it senses motion. This means you need to review the footage and download (to your phone) the video that you want to keep before the 24 hours runs out. If there are no notifications, then there is no need, of course, to review the footage. Logitech's "day brief" feature makes it pretty easy to review footage. You can purchase one of Logitech's subscription plans to retain your footage for more than 24 hours, if you wish. You also receive a notification if the camera disconnects. I tested this by disconnecting the power cable, and it worked fine.

As others have commented, the Homekit app does not fully integrate with the Circle 2. So you still will want to have Logitech's own app on your phone. One last comment: this camera has no alarm feature (or, at least, none I've been able to find). So if you want a camera that emits a loud piercing sound that both wakes you up and scares off an intruder, this camera is not for you. Otherwise, I've found it to be a good device.

    The Dumb Smart Security Camera

    • Written by Richard P from Ottawa

I have had this camera for several months. As mentioned in other posts, it's far from a 'smart' camera. Even though it is 'off' with the red light showing, it's still on in Apple Homekit. Logitech has been saying for months they know this is an issue that will be fixed with a firmware update. I'm still waiting!!! Which is why I felt compelled to give a review. Nor can you automate turning it on and off (e.g., such as when you exit the house). I bought a Pop to turn the camera on as I left, but it keeps failing.

Camera broken after turning it off

    • Written by Jean B from Los Angeles

It all started well with the camera setup successful and working for about one day. Then I decided to try the "Turn Off" feature. And then unable to turn it on and reconnect to it, no matter what (I did reset it, unplugged, etc). I might be unlucky but for this price, I'm expecting a more reliable camera. Too bad.

Good Security camera with poor HomeKit execution.

    • Written by Rey G from Menifee

I purchased 2 of these mainly because of their stated HomeKit compatibility. When trying to access these cameras remotely (away from the home network) through HomeKit, I've found that these will show as Not Responding more often than not. When would one want to monitor their security cameras the most! This camera fails at HomeKit and is almost useless under HomeKit. Now, to be fair, under the native Logi Circle app these are solid security cameras and are very versatile with different mounting options. BUT, that is not why I purchased these. I purchased these because of the Works with HomeKit badge prominently placed on the packaging. I wish Apple did more testing before allowing Logitech to apply that badge to their product.

I want to love it, just not now

    • Written by Nicholas N from Dallas

I had very high hopes for this camera. I read amazing reviews for this camera online and the for the homekit integration. That is the main reason I bought it. But unfortunately with the latest firmware update homekit simply does not work. I've had to reset this camera EVERY single day, and exchange once already, and I've only owned it for 5 days. My internet is fast, and all my other homekit gear works great. So I know its not that. And after calling Logitech support they even told me they are working on a firmware update to fix homekit integration issues since there have been so many complaints.

The camera works FANTASTIC in the Logitech app, but if you link it to home app it will disconnect after awhile regardless if you have a homehub setup. And don't bother using Logitech support online, their website is infuriating as well, it doesn't work. Like, at all. Their website constantly deleted my account, but wouldn't let me create another one, and the password reset link just sent me back to the home page. So if you do have problems just call in. Trust me.

If you're willing to wait it out for the firmware update this camera for homekit integration that works has the potential to be something amazing. It's small, great quality, and the Logitech app has a ton of features.

Decent camera but known issues with HomeKit

    • Written by Jamie M from Anchorage

The camera itself works fairly well with a wide angle lens and decent night vision. However, one of the primary reasons I bought this camera was for HomeKit support. Unfortunately, there is a known issue with HomeKit which Logitech claims is an issue with HomeKit and not their camera or firmware. Basically, when you try to view the live stream through the iOS Home app, it will say "Not Available" about 50% of the time. You can read more about this in Logitech support forum. Another issue I have is you can't automatically have the camera turn on/off via automations or location so unless you manually turn it off when you're home, it's always recording when motion is detected. Speaking of which, there are a couple reviews out there that mention this camera is always recording which is not the case - it only records when it detects motion.

Doesn't do what says on the tin

    • Written by Dan O from Bristol

Not happy with purchase at all.
    1. Connectivity - mounted outside, double glazed windows separates camera from Airport clearly visible from camera location, 8 m away. 2.4 and 5GHz tested, still having poor connection alerts from time to time.
    2. Image quality - even on 1080p picture lacks details and crispness, it's hard to recognise face of a person moving 5m away from camera
    3. HomeKit - I gave up in week 1 after care lost connectivity to HomeKit 3 times and the only solution was to remove it, reset and set up from scratch.
    4. Storage - unable to choose storage for video footage, all stored in Cloud using lots of bandwidth around the clock.
    5. Alerts - tested free and paid subscription (free for a week with fresh install) - zoning doesn't work, people recognition misses people or alerts and records when nothing happens or out of zones activity only. Camera records even when out of zone activity detected, waste of time and bandwidth. Absolutely unreliable as a security camera. Monthly service expensive, more than for Netflix subscription, not worth it.
    6. Indoor usage - not going to use it indoor as it records whenever it wants, not happy to send all the footage from my living room to some company's server.
    7. Overall build quality - camera mount is rather a toy quality, intruder wanting to disable it just needs to pull it harder.
    8. Camera has a mic and speaker build in. Voice level too low to be used when a car passes on the road or chatting people walking by. On top of that you receive alert a few second after camera notifies person, takes a moment to start app and load video. When you ready to chat a courier with your delivery has just left. On top of that there is a 1-2s delay seriously damaging chances to communicate with anybody.

    Works awesome, clear and nice!

    • Written by Braden A from Chilliwack

Just ordered my camera. Got it two days after ordering, shipment was good.

Went to install, had a few hiccups trying to get it connected, but after setting it up and actually following the sintructions, it works awesome. Noticed that it works better through the Logi Circle app, as it is faster, very clear, and you can go back to time stamps where it saw or is seeing movement. Sends notifications to my phone, watch and everything when it detects movement, and has a crazy viewing angle. I have it just above my front door, and it can see the door knob, both walls to the left and right (I’m talking the wall it’s mounted on too... full 180 degrees...) and it sees about 30 feet forwards too (towards the road)

€10 a month to use all features

    • Written by Nicholas C from Cork

This camera integrates with homekit. philips hue lights activate with camera motion detection.
HOWEVER to use all the main features like have 30day recording, human recognition motion detection etc you need to pay €10 a month PER camera, which is ROBBERY. Camera quality is ok, the microphone and speaker are mediocre and not loud enough.
Logitech are CHEEKY to be asking €10 a month per camera, their website does say discounts coming soon for multiple cameras, but you'd be sure to be spending several hundred a year for the needed subscriptions if you want multiple cameras. No option to store recordings in other cloud locations

    Excellent Camera for the Home

    • Written by Christopher B from Calgary

Got this as a Christmas gift and I'm thrilled. The setup was super easy and very fast! The image quality is fantastic (you can adjust it up to 1080, it's 720 as default). I was pleasantly surprised that the camera also has a "motion sensor" that will show up in HomeKit that you can use to set up automations with other HomeKit connected devices!
I'm really happy with this camera overall. Would definitely consider getting another to mount on my window to monitor the backyard.

    A few things to note:
    - HomeKit allows you to stream your camera at any time. It doesn't record on your device. It's streaming only... (which is perfect for me!)
    - If you want recording capabilities, that's where you set up your account through Logitech Circle Safe
    - If you have your camera set to "privacy mode" or "off", the motion sensor will not trigger in HomeKit.... because it's set to be off or Private.

I have 3 of these and they are great

    • Written by Jason C from Thousand Oaks

I have two window mounted and one wall mounted. I've done all of the app and firmware updates since I purchased them in August. I tried Homekit but the Logi Circle app is much better. Night vision doesn't work as well in window mode, do your homework and research before buying any camera. IR does not work through glass. I spent more time cable managing the wires and getting them power than I did setting them up. Like all technology, there's people who know and everyone else. Remember that when reading reviews. It's a great product and it doesn't deserve 1 star from 1 review.

Not sure about the recording on/off function as mentioned in the earlier review but so far I'm loving this camera. So quick and easy to set up and the picture quality on my iPhone looks great. A bit grainy on the iPad Pro tho. I will likely order another one soon.

Can not stop camera from recording in HomeKit

    • Written by Adam G from Dallas

I bought this camera in hopes of replacing my nest cameras so that everything would be integrated into the home app. There are a lot of limitations currently with HomeKit and this camera. It can not be turned on and off via HomeKit. If I use the Logitech app to turn the camera off and then goto the home app, the camera is still streaming video even though it shows off. Also, there is no way to automatically turn the camera on/off via location, which is a major bummer. If/when this is fixed via a software update, I may consider this camera again, but for now I am returning it.
