    Modern, chic, practical

    • Written by Charlotte G from Lausanne

Love it! Although slightly big in size, it looks great and really reduces cable clutter. I dont use it by my bedside table but instead in the living room, and when friends come over they always ask about it.

Does NOT charge latest 2018 MacBook Pro!!!!!!

    • Written by Simon T from Milton Keynes

Really disappointed writing this - I recently bought this charger to be the desktop charger for my new MacBook Pro (2018) as an alternative to purchasing another OEM power block for convenience. When plugged in with the USB-C cable it slowly loses charge so I'm not sure it's doing anything. The MacBook says that it's connected to a power supply but it says 'Battery is Not Charging' in the menu bar.

    Back to the drawing board!

Doesn’t include the cables. Comes with a card offering you to ‘complete’ your purchase by buying cables from Native Union direct. Annoying.

    Terrible product

    • Written by Tom N from Kirkland

I was given this as a gift and what a waste of time. It takes up way too much room, it's a challenge winding the cords around in the right order while plugged in to the respective outlets, while at the same time, getting it to lock in place, and it turns the base light on and off at random. Surprisingly, the most logical thing of all, having the top act as an induction charger isn't even considered! Basically, this is one giant cord-keeper, except far more difficult to set up. This is the worst product I've seen in a while.

    However did I manage before?

    • Written by Carina D from Whitby

I love this product. It is a very good looking device that fits in any room of your home, or on the wall if you prefer. The touch sensor is so cool, once to light the underneath so no more hunting in the dark for cables, and if you tap twice the 'lid' opens up for cable management and set up, then another two taps and it returns to its neat status. Goodbye cable wires all over the place. This amazing product is what I have been waiting for and I came across it by chance whilst browsing the chargers in the Apple Store. I can’t recommend this product enough. The charge time is super fast.

Functional but Noisy in quiet rooms

    • Written by Damien R from London

I have 2 of these. They work well for charging and hiding cables, with a gentle light beside the bed. the downside is when you're lying in a quiet room. It emits a very strange high pitched "beeping" noise. It's not super loud, but is distracting enough in the early morning that it has been moved to a room where it's less distracting.

Total Misrepresentation by both Apple and NU

    • Written by Brian P from Indiantown

Bought mine from online Apple for my brand new MBP. If the description said anywhere it will only charge an MBP with the lid closed I would have never bought it. Unfortunately it took me more than the 2 weeks to discover this problem because I charge at home with the OEM charger at night and this product during the day.

When I engaged their CS via chat I was told to "put my machine in Airplane Mode and close the lid for it to charge". That's when I knew I was in trouble as there isn't Airplane Mode on an MBP

Neither Apple nor NU will stand behind their product. Both blame each other. Disgusted with both.

From a wonderful manufacturer, a stunningly awful product

    • Written by Alan S from La Crescenta

I love Native Union products, and thought that the Eclipse Charger would both help clean up my work surface and keep the cats from chewing on my cables.

But the Eclipse is the most stunningly awful product I've seen in years. It lacks the convenient AC outlets of my other Native Union charger, the touch pad usually requires an extra series or two of taps to get it to respond, and if one has the cables neatly wound around the spindle, it's then a PItA to retrieve the ends. The elevator motor will surely break one week out of warranty. I had this boxed up to return less than eight hours after bringing it home.

Take all the bad reviews of this product to heart. Dunno what the engineers were ingesting when they came up with this harebrained idea, but it must have been quite a party...

Visually & Aesthetically Appealing, Will not maintain charge on 12" MacBook

    • Written by Michæl S from Brooklyn

This charger looks cool and the idea is right, it just barely charges an iPhone and almost cannot maintain the large on a 12" MacBook. This absolutely does not maintain a charge on a 15" MacBook Pro. I purchased this at the apple store and returned a few days later.

    Take a pass

    • Written by Shari B from Porter

I was so excited for this product.

Yeah, first Native Union customer support is almost nonexistent. Yes, they will call back if you make a stink and have a meltdown. But the most they can do is send videos. No one seems to know anything about the products. Annoying.

A real pain in the backside to put together, although I am not the most patient person. But still, it took me way too long (what, almost two hours, because I got so frustrated and CS is clueless) to get everything set up because, well, NU doesn't want to deal with customers.

The set-up should have been much easier.

Apart from my personal pet peeve that their customer service is built around as little human interaction as possible, this doesn't work with the USB-C. As I write this, my 2017 MacBook Pro is draining because I have yet to disassemble it from the device that is not charging it. Imagine my surprise to see that my MBP tells me it's not charging. I double checked, and the connection to the port is fine.

This charger can't do the job.

Doesn't juice a MacBook Pro, as it is advertised.

For the record, I am usually skeptical of negative reviews, because so many seem to not have any problem-solving skills. Trust me, TAKE A PASS if you are using this for a MacBook Pro.

iPad Pro is juicing via USB. Beats headphones juicing via USB.

MacBook Pro not juicing via USB-C.

    Back it goes.

A waste of way too much time.

Don't do it! Huge and unnecessary

    • Written by Josi T from Pacifica

As other reviewers have said, the eclipse is HUGE and not worth the space it takes to charge 3 items. It's also strangely over engineered, with a weird light that glows from the bottom, not totally sure why that is there. It's worth note that this thing cannot be returned or exchanged, so go see it in the store before you commit.

Caution: Does NOT reasonably charge a MBPro while using

    • Written by Ryan B from Charlotte

    Title says it all...

Assumed this was the Holy Grail and would make the desk super neat for my partial OCD. No go, as my Macbook Pro shut down halfway thru the day.

    Cool multi-charge tool

    • Written by Joshua B

This is a pretty cool and useful little charging tool. funny enough, I have a phone, iPad, and watch that, of course, I charge every night. throw all of it on one platform to charge. AND FAST. Cord is a decent size and, personally, I like the color.

    Review product description before purchasing

    • Written by Jeffrey D from FRESNO

Make sure you read over the entire description before you purchase this. The thing is HUGE - over 6" in diameter and 2" tall. I say this because I bought it thinking it would reduce clutter for me on my bedside table. It did reduce the clutter, but now my table won't hold my watch, ipad and iphone because this things takes up so much space. Also, this is one of those items that Apple makes "not available for return", so you're stuck with it.
