Functional but Noisy in quiet rooms

I have 2 of these. They work well for charging and hiding cables, with a gentle light beside the bed. the downside is when you're lying in a quiet room. It emits a very strange high pitched "beeping" noise. It's not super loud, but is distracting enough in the early morning that it has been moved to a room where it's less distracting.

Total Misrepresentation by both Apple and NU

Bought mine from online Apple for my brand new MBP. If the description said anywhere it will only charge an MBP with the lid closed I would have never bought it. Unfortunately it took me more than the 2 weeks to discover this problem because I charge at home with the OEM charger at night and this product during the day.

When I engaged their CS via chat I was told to "put my machine in Airplane Mode and close the lid for it to charge". That's when I knew I was in trouble as there isn't Airplane Mode on an MBP

Neither Apple nor NU will stand behind their product. Both blame each other. Disgusted with both.

From a wonderful manufacturer, a stunningly awful product

I love Native Union products, and thought that the Eclipse Charger would both help clean up my work surface and keep the cats from chewing on my cables.

But the Eclipse is the most stunningly awful product I've seen in years. It lacks the convenient AC outlets of my other Native Union charger, the touch pad usually requires an extra series or two of taps to get it to respond, and if one has the cables neatly wound around the spindle, it's then a PItA to retrieve the ends. The elevator motor will surely break one week out of warranty. I had this boxed up to return less than eight hours after bringing it home.

Take all the bad reviews of this product to heart. Dunno what the engineers were ingesting when they came up with this harebrained idea, but it must have been quite a party...

Visually & Aesthetically Appealing, Will not maintain charge on 12" MacBook

This charger looks cool and the idea is right, it just barely charges an iPhone and almost cannot maintain the large on a 12" MacBook. This absolutely does not maintain a charge on a 15" MacBook Pro. I purchased this at the apple store and returned a few days later.

    Take a pass

I was so excited for this product.

Yeah, first Native Union customer support is almost nonexistent. Yes, they will call back if you make a stink and have a meltdown. But the most they can do is send videos. No one seems to know anything about the products. Annoying.

A real pain in the backside to put together, although I am not the most patient person. But still, it took me way too long (what, almost two hours, because I got so frustrated and CS is clueless) to get everything set up because, well, NU doesn't want to deal with customers.

The set-up should have been much easier.

Apart from my personal pet peeve that their customer service is built around as little human interaction as possible, this doesn't work with the USB-C. As I write this, my 2017 MacBook Pro is draining because I have yet to disassemble it from the device that is not charging it. Imagine my surprise to see that my MBP tells me it's not charging. I double checked, and the connection to the port is fine.

This charger can't do the job.

Doesn't juice a MacBook Pro, as it is advertised.

For the record, I am usually skeptical of negative reviews, because so many seem to not have any problem-solving skills. Trust me, TAKE A PASS if you are using this for a MacBook Pro.

iPad Pro is juicing via USB. Beats headphones juicing via USB.

MacBook Pro not juicing via USB-C.

    Back it goes.

A waste of way too much time.

Don't do it! Huge and unnecessary

As other reviewers have said, the eclipse is HUGE and not worth the space it takes to charge 3 items. It's also strangely over engineered, with a weird light that glows from the bottom, not totally sure why that is there. It's worth note that this thing cannot be returned or exchanged, so go see it in the store before you commit.

Caution: Does NOT reasonably charge a MBPro while using

    Title says it all...

Assumed this was the Holy Grail and would make the desk super neat for my partial OCD. No go, as my Macbook Pro shut down halfway thru the day.

    Cool multi-charge tool

This is a pretty cool and useful little charging tool. funny enough, I have a phone, iPad, and watch that, of course, I charge every night. throw all of it on one platform to charge. AND FAST. Cord is a decent size and, personally, I like the color.

    Review product description before purchasing

Make sure you read over the entire description before you purchase this. The thing is HUGE - over 6" in diameter and 2" tall. I say this because I bought it thinking it would reduce clutter for me on my bedside table. It did reduce the clutter, but now my table won't hold my watch, ipad and iphone because this things takes up so much space. Also, this is one of those items that Apple makes "not available for return", so you're stuck with it.
