    Pointlessly expensive

    • Written by Russell B from DONCASTER

It's more than twice the price of all other USB c drives of the same capacity - even SanDisk themselves sell a dual drive that is 256gb for less than this 128gb version, and it even transfers quicker!

    Pointless waste of money.

This product is unusable because its USB-C connector does not fit into any of the USB-C ports of my 15in, 2018 MacBook Pro! The design of this product is clearly flawed because all of my other USB-C peripherals can be connected with ease.

Hand warmer for a Lego Minifigure

    • Written by David S from dallas

I was trying to figure out why SanDisk made this product. It gets extremely hot instantly. That's its best feature. It works with traditional USB ports perfectly but I could recommend many other drives that could do that. And if you want it for a contemporary MacBook - good luck getting this to mount due to a variety of issues. Truly substandard as a Type-C device... unless you need a hand warmer for a Lego Minifigure. (Disclaimer: extended use could melt your Lego Minifigure's hands.)

The SanDIsk USB A to USB Type-C is way faster than the cheap competition on Amazon. I know this cuz I bought the other brands before getting this one. NO MAJOR brand is offering a Dual side USB Flash drive that looks as good as this one. If you want a Flashdrive that is Type C and Fast you either get a standard Drive or one of those Double plastic caps out there. If that works for you then good.

This Aluminum double Flashdrive will get as hot as ANY other aluminum drive whether is USB A or USB C, there is no way around this. However as someone who has many Aluminum drives like this one from different brands, I can say that none of the SanDisk aluminum flashdrives have ever died on me or slowed in performance.

You have to understand that MOST people who leave bad reviews and their only argument is cuz it gets HOT, these are casual consumers who don't know any better. You will not avoid this issues no matter the brand.

With those issues aside this is a solid Dual Flashdrive that looks sleek and is faster on readings and transfer speeds. You will not get a better dual drive like this out there.

    Look Elsewhere

Like similar Sandisk USB C drives you can find on other sites, this drive gets really hot after a few minutes of use. Plugging the USB C side into my Macbook also caused the USB 3 part of the drive to push out of the case on the other side. Apple support was helpful with the return process.

So I'm a college student and that means that when I bought my MacBook Pro I didn't have the money to upgrade the memory so I opted for this for my files and what not. I swear I plug it in to my computer and within 5 minutes its warm and leave it in 8 minutes and it is HOT the all metal design isn't great.
