Works well With Mac Mini 2018 and Black Magic EGPU

    • Written by David R from KEIGHLEY

After spending some time researching this product on the internet there are mixed opinions and reviews I wanted a good monitor to do video editing on my Mac Mini i5 2018, As I am not a gamer I purchased the Black Magic EGPU and the LG UltraFine 5K display. The display connected to the EGPU works well out of the box and just as important all my keys on the mac keyboard work with the monitor so there is no more fiddling with buttons on the monitor to alter brightens etc. The sound quality is also better than my previous monitor and the picture quality and colour are superb. Also I tested face time with the built in camera and mike and they work well just as they did in my old iMac. In conclusion I find this setup perfect for my needs as I wanted to separate the monitor from the computer it all works well and I am impressed with the quality of the screen.

Works for 2018 Mac with Radeon Pro 560X

I spent a lot of time looking for a monitor that would work for my Mac and this one seems to fit the bill. The monitor works seamlessly so far. All I have to do is connect one thunderbolt cable, which is supplied. My only complaints so far is the plastic bezel and that it doesn't rotate vertically.

This display is a vast improvement over my old 27" Apple Thunderbolt Cinema Display. The Apple Display, which was due for a replacement, kept crashing my MacBook Pro. This display works flawlessly with my MBP, and looks great. Resolution is fantastic. The default color profile seems to me to have a slightly off-white color cast, but it doesn't bother me in the least, so I haven't tried to correct it in Settings. Audio output works fine, although the speakers are perhaps not quite as good as the ones in my old Apple display. I have several other devices connected to the USB ports--a printer, a scanner, and an external hard drive. All work fine. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

ok. SHORT AND SWEET. THE New 24" I could not get past the rez diff. This monitor rocks. The rez is to my eye as good or better than 2019 imac which I had it sitting next to being run by a 2017 mid MBP. Thanks LG and Apple. great job. Also the bezel is my friend. Much smaller than imac and it feels like the ipad pro and after a short period of time you do not even notice it as it goes away and you see that great 5k. Also the adjustment arm is really nice especially on a height adjustable desk or I guess and desk for that matter :).

    Best monitor I've ever owned.

    > Best display
    > Super bright (500 Nits)
    > Great colour accuracy
    > Charges up to 15" MBP.
    > Single USB-C Cable.
    > Great speakers
    > Software controlled
    > Built in Webcam/Mic
    > Adjustable robust stand + VESA mount.

Only downfall is that I wish more eGPU solution were supported other than the Blackmagic eGPU. Also the bezels are way too large.
    100% recommend this beast.
