The Greatest, Sexiest and Most Silent...

    Need I say more?

The things is beautiful, thin and clean. I had the last version of the Mac wireless keyboard and the thing held garbage like a trash can. This thing has no nooks and crannies, just sleek, smooth surface. Its so silent when you type, make those plastic buttons of the last version look like dinosaurs.

Trust me, I don't work for Apple at all... but I'd support a great product. This keyboard is the BOMB!

    New keyboard works great

We got two keyboards directly as they came out. Since we had never used them it was a buying decision based entirely on aesthetics and the clear advantage of them being obviously very easy to clean. We've been using them for about two weeks now and the ease of use is tremendous. Not only do they look good and are easy to clean, the typing itself is fast and a lot less noisy, the keys are more solid and easier to press, and the flatness dramatically reduces strain on the wrists when typing (why didn't anyone come up with this before?). All in all a tremendous product we would recommend to anyone.

    An incredible achievement.

The new Apple Keyboard is a work of art. The tactile sublimity must be experienced first-hand; I can't adequately describe it, but I'll try. The keys are solid. Really solid. I can hear the faint "thud thud thud" of my keystrokes resonating through my desktop as I type.

For right-handers, the smaller footprint allows you to move the keyboard closer to your mouse, bringing the letter keys into alignment with the center of your monitor. The low profile provides for a much more natural positioning of your hands, even if you rest the heels of your hands on the desk.

Aesthetically, it is stunning. I've never been emotionally moved by a keyboard until now. It is design in its purest form. There are no unnecessary lines or forms. Only functional beauty. As a product designer and an engineer, the keyboard simultaneously fills me with joy and envy. If you have one in front of you, take a close look at the corners of the keyboard frame. Notice how the radius of the frame is concentric to the radius of the key. That is a line of poetry in a love letter to design.

Though seemingly insignificant compared to the recent high-profile product launches, I believe that the future will look back on this keyboard as a watershed achievement in Apple's legendary design history.

    Great Keyboard...USB ports Pointless

Bought this keyboard so I could have a desktop set up with my new 2015 MacBook. The keyboard itself looks great and is nice type on. The keys are laid out well and has all the apple fiction keys you would expect to find on a Mac keyboard. However the USB ports on the keyboard have so little power going to them that I can't even plug in a USB Flash key without getting the low power warning. As the new MacBook only has one usb-c port I would have thought that they would make its power output enough for the keyboard ports to be fit for purpose. Very disappointed.

In a nutshell, if you are buying this keyboard to work with your new mabook, don't even think about being able to use the 2 USB ports!

2015 MacBook Pro 13 Retina does recognize this keyboard

Not even the latest 2015 MacBook Pro 13 Retina with El Capitan does recognize this keyboard in System Preferences - Keyboard - Change Keyboard Type and returns "Your keyboard cannot be identified.".

    Almost perfect

I've had my wired Apple keyboard with number pad for a few days now and I have to say I think it's a marked improvement on the wireless variety which it replaced.

The thing I don't really understand is why haven't Apple produced this keyboard in a wireless version for users that would prefer it.

For my part the cable doesn't trouble me in anyway whatsoever with the exception that it takes up a USB port on my iMac but as pretty much everything else I use is wireless it's not an issue for me and considering I no longer have to be concerned with battery power/replacement and the occasional bluetooth disconnect this just isn't an issue, at least not for me. I suppose it would be more aesthetically pleasing without the cable but hey ho I think the advantages that this keyboard offers over the wireless version far outweigh any disadvantages.

My only gripe is that although it's very pleasing to the eye as it is it would be better if it had the same profile as the wireless keyboard but only because it would then be a better match for the trackpad, perhaps an option for Apple to consider would be to produce a trackpad that matches this keyboard ... merely a suggestion ... I'm very happy with it the way it is.

    This is my favorite keyboard

I have used many window's keyboards, a macbook pro's keyboard, and the older imac keyboard. When i first tried the macbook's keyboard, i was amazed when i noticed how much faster i could type with it, and the design seemed so simple. When i saw the new imac, i knew this keyboard must be good. I finally bought it a year later, and it is better than i expected. They keys are well spaced, and the result is reduced errors in your typing. the height of each key allows for less time for typing, and your fingers to move quicker through out the keyboard. This is a product i would recommend to anyone looking to get a keyboard, wether it is for a mac, or for a pc. This is one great keyboard.

    Best keyboard ever!

This is definitely the best keyboard of all time. It has a gorgeous design like the MacBook one and it feels good when you're typing. The two USB ports are good for the Mighty Mouse and something else you'd like to plug in. A must buy!

    Works with older Mac too

It took a little while to get used to using this keyboard (with a Mac Mini) but now I'm a fan. I bought the same keyboard for my older model Imac running system 9.2, as I still need to run Classic Apps - PageMaker in particular - and it works fine with that too. A big improvement on the previous English-Japanese keyboard I was using.

    Great Keyboard!! Five Stars.

This is by far the best keyboard i've ever owned. Between the affordability, the crisp, clean keystroke, the amazing look of it and the extra buttons, it makes for a fantastic experience. The real highlights of this keyboard (for me anyways,) are the comfort, it truly is extremely comfortable, and quite easy to use. As well as the extra keys, there's one for dashboard, there's one for exposé, and some for brightness and volume. And finally, there's the extra features. For instance, to make this character (é)all you ahve to do is press option + e. So simple. it's really quite intuitive, apple thinks ahead and makes the keyboard shortcuts ones that the users would think of automatically.

All of this leads to a great user experience, and whether you're on a mac or pc, BUY ONE TODAY.

    Why did I look elsewhere?

I was looking for a new keyboard for my old Mac. I went to a dozen stores and display-tested a hundred or more keyboards before finally sucking it up and getting the Apple Keyboard. Man, am I glad I did! The keys are the perfect distance from eachother with a good feel, it's easy to see in low-light conditions, and it's heavier than you'd expect from such a thin keyboard so it doesn't slide around when you use it.

I'm miffed that the F-keys I've used for Exposé and Dashboard moved, but I'll live. Also, I got a KVM switch so I could use my PowerBook at my desk, and of course this is probably the only keyboard on Earth that won't work with it. I blame my discount KVM switch and retain my 5-star rating of this sweet keyboard. Mouse shopping was harder...

    Great keyboard

I just got this keyboard and really like it a lot. Everybody has their own keyboard preferences, and I happen to like flatter keyboards better - I also tend to like my powerbook's keyboard better than my old Apple desktop keyboards (this should give you an idea of what this keyboard is like it you haven't had a chance to test it). So, while it might no be for everyone (see other comments), function and form really work for me on this one.

    Worth the upgrade

I spend a lot of time having to type in awkward positions - semi-touch typing, not hunt and peck. Due to that, I had noticed my old white keyboard was developing a 'catch' if the keys were not hit absolutely square.

As soon as I put this on my Mini I noticed an improvement. Not only does it accept off-center strokes without errors, but the keys have just enough travel to prevent mistypes while still not requiring excessive movement to produce output.

This is the best full-sized keyboard I have seen in a long time - HIGHLY recommended for anyone not tied to a desk!

    Bought it for XP

I needed a good keyboard for programming while at work because my PC keyboard just wasn't cutting it. As far as keyboards go, I'm looking for a short throw and good tactile feel. This keyboard is solid and feels really good beneath my fingers. My typing on this keyboard is much more accurate and my hands don't feel fatigued after a long session. I'm using the keyboard with a Windows XP box and have no problems. I considered buying an IBM M series (billed as the "ultimate" keyboard) but after checking one out recently, I decided that I prefer the Apple keyboard's action and quietness. If there were one change I could make ... I would switch the 'caps lock' and 'control' key positions, but I'm sure I'll manage.

    Awesome! BUY IT

This was a great buy, though 50 dollars, i would still buy another. It is so, so slim and im not sure if its just me, but the keys feel so great and make my typing easier and even faster. Don't waste the money on the wireless, it doesn't have the extra usb, nor the num pad.

I recommend 100% this keyboard over any other.

    Best keyboard ever

I love this keyboard. I used to swear by the Macally icekey for years. Finally apple creates a keyboard of equal (I'd say even superior) quality for the same price.

The pictures don't do it justice -- it's TINY. No space is wasted, and the thing is ridiculously thin. Definitely worth the money.

    MacBook Tiger User

I am a student who has a White Macbook with the 2.16 Intel, and the 120 GB HDD. I am running 10.4.11, and was worried about the function keys. I bought the keyboard, and was thrilled to find out that the sync was seamless. I am a fairly heavy typer, and I tend to slam the speacebar. Even with the thin profile, this keyboard will take every punch of the key. I have never been so comfortable typing on any keyboard. The Keys move flawlessly, the layout is ideal, and the dual USB Ports allow for a mouse on either side, when my left handed brother needs to use it. I am amazed at how little it costs, and I HIGHLY recommend it for ANY Mac user, who types a fair amount.

    Match made in heaven

I have this keyboard at work. I was skeptical at first, but the multi-media (Function) keys rock. I can start and pause songs in iTunes even when it's not the active window. The only bad thing is now I want to replace my PC style keyboard on my Mac at home. Santa, please...
