    Great Keyboard

I love the small footprint. I love how everything fits perfectly in the small footprint without looking cluttered at all. The keyboard is setup very nicely with perfectly spaced keys and inconspicuous toggle buttons. Definitely an upgrade from the previous Apple Keyboard.

    The Best!!

Hands down, by far, the best full size keyboard that I have ever used. USB ports work great with my external hard drive, mouse, etc. My only recommendation would be is to buy one as soon as possible and you will see.

Is it art or is it just a keyboard?

It's both. Truly a comfort to type on - the keyboard looks amazing atop the surface of my desk.... an inconsequential piece of technology taken to the next level. Bravo.

    Less Typos!

Just "upgraded" from G5 Quad to 24" iMac 2.8Ghz with this NEW KEYBOARD. It is better, quite, much easier to type on since it lies flat, and looks better than the older white plastic model too. I am making MUCH less typos! I will be buying a second one for our MacBookPro and selling the old Apple pro Keyboard.

    Wow!

That had to be the best $49 investment I have made lately. I was so happy to junk my old Apple keyboard you have no idea! I hope this new technology is what Apple intends to use on its laptops. Thanks Steve!

    Neat! Recommend upgrade.

Very low profile. Will take some getting use to. Very fast typing. Smooth key strokes. Keys are spaced perfectly. I also like the new keys and layout. I have full control watching movies with DVD player using the control keys. This keyboard works perfect with the keyboard update 1.1. I did not have to manually change anything.

Very sleek design worth the price. Recommend buying.

    USB and key issues

I have had this keyboard for 3 years and it has worked fine until recently. I have found other users reviews helpful in that they have experienced the same issues. The USB port sometimes does not recognise the keyboard. Restarting the computer helps with this. I also have the same issue with keys in that they do not recognise when they are struck. Currently the Shift, Caps Lock and (that is w) key is playing up. Yes it missed it when I typed a capital w. It's frustrating for a premium priced product from Apple. I've bought Apple since 1990 and recently have found the quality decline in the past two years. Disappointing.

    Does not always work!

I have 5 of these keyboards and they all suffer from the same issue. I love the typing action and have never experienced any problems with the USB ports as referred to in the comments. All keys function properly and are easy to use. The Fn key being in a different position has never bothered me. The are two main problems however - (1) The keyboard gets dirty quite quickly and (2) EVERY keyboard I have suffers from a capacitance issue that can only be resolved by unplugging the keyboard overnight when the computer is switched off or discharging it by disconnecting it and attaching a card reader to one of the USB ports to use up any retained charge. If I forget to do this I have to allow at least 30 minutes unplugged before the keyboard will function again. I have tried taking them all back to Apple Store in Kingston upon Thames but of course they are discharged by the time I get there and are found to be working normally! I believe the wireless version does not have this issue.

the alphabet according to my keyboard

keyboard number #3, that is malfunctioning after less than a year's use, is great if you don't use the letters b,g or t.

    Good but not durable

I bought this keyboard as I wanted the number pad on the side. I bought it in December 2016 and everything was working fine and I thought it was a great keyboard. It is now February 2017 and the caps key is stuck on and won't work anymore. I can't believe this only lasted 2 months. I would not recommend buying it as I have seen similar reviews about the same issue.

    Unreliable

We purchased quite a few of these for my lab, since they are very elegant and comfortable to use. They average life time however is less than a year, event in clean and proper-used circumstances. We had a lot of problems with keys that pop out and cannot be put back; or with cleaning. On the last one we cleaned, by using a lint-free rug slightly humidified with alcohol on an unplugged keyboard, the whole bottom rowe stopped working, and we could not solve the problem despite hours on internet forums and help sites; this also follows from the fact that the keys need frequent cleaning because of their colour and texture. To our regrets, we will turn to another brand.

    Works fine since '09

Came in Jan 09 with my 24" iMac. Both continue to work fine. I'm on OS 10.5.8. The numeric keypad is essential for me.
    PROs:
    1. Key height – top row shorter, bottom row slightly longer (Apple screwed this up on the new Magic Keyboard).
    2. Tilt angle, tactile feel, ease of cleaning (always turn the keyboard upside down).
CONs (makes keyboard awkward to use – PC influence):
    1. The registration bumps are on the wrong keys. Apple's original approach was better.
    2. Middle block is wasted. Move the cursor keys to the main keypad (like wireless keyboards) and lose the others.

    Many pros, very few cons

    PROS:
Thin, lightweight, and incredibly stylish. Typing is extremely quiet, and there are plenty of function keys to customize.
A BIG pro is the presence of two USB ports. These are great, I have my mouse's wireless receiver in one and use the other for my iPod or USB stick. This is a huge advantage over the wireless keboard.

    CONS:
The keyboard isn't height adjustable. However for me personally, it is at the perfect height anyway.

    I like this keyboard.

Its works great and came with my imac when I bought it at the store although I replaced with a wireless one I still use it for when I need the extra keys but for people who aren't obsessed with only have a power cord coming out of the computer than this is a good buy.

    Very nice.

A nicely built keyboard, sturdy and light. Great for those who like the feel of keyboards on laptops but dont want to deal with cramped conditions. I wish Apple had the option of a back lit keyboard, but I guess that is down the road.

    Absolutely Great!!!

I have had my Macbook for about 3 months now, and I really liked the keyboard on it, so I decided to buy this keyboard to go along with it. I decided on the wired one because I love having the ten key (which is absolutely great). Anyway this keyboard is simply superb I can already feel my typing speed increase a great deal, and my hands never get tired typing on this keyboard, I feel like I can get a considerable amount more work done with this keyboard, and that is why I am able to write a review on it, because I finished with all the work I was aiming to this evening, so I figured why not it deserves a pretty sweet tribute.

This keyboard reminds me about the character Frank in "You've Got Mail". He is absolutely in love with his typewriter and I feel the exact same way about this keyboard which is ever so wonderful.

    Form & Function

A slim, beautiful and very useful design. Once I became accustomed to the feel of the keys (took me a couple days), I much prefer it over the older "typewriter"-style Mac keyboards.

    Highly recommended.

    Highly recommended

This keyboard looks fantastic and is an absolute pleasure to use. In a crowded work environment the near silence of the keys is a revelation. The slim profile and small travel distance of keys means it is less tiring to use than any other keyboard I've tried. And the special function keys for Dashboard, Exposé and volume adjustment, for example, are quick and easy to use.
Furthermore the keyboard gathers less dirt than other models, and is easy to clean.
This is the best keyboard I have ever encountered.
