I was skeptical, but now I couldn't go back!

The keyboard came with my new 20" Al iMac. I was skeptical; I thought I'd hate it, even though it looks amazing!

Well after using it for an hour, I got another one for my white (2006) iMac, which I use in both OS X and Bootcamp.

I find the new keyboard less tiring to use, and far more accurate once you get the feel for it!

I hope Apple doesn't change this keyboard for a long time, they got it right!

    Great Design

I recently purchased this keyboard from my school's bookstore. I'm using it with a Macbook and I have to say that I am very pleased with the design of the keyboard.

Being used to the macbook keyboard I easily started typing on this one, the throws of the keys are the exact same. I feel that the response of the keys are even better than those in my macbook (I have a black one, and I have always felt the white keyboards were built better). Also the overall quality of the Aluminum makes the keyboard feel like a nice piece of technology.

The only complaint that I have is the re-configuring of the function keys that apple has recently decided to do. I like having F8 open spaces, on this keyboard you will need to us FN or re-program it to another function key. But that is my only complaint. Over all a great product at the sweet spot for price.

    A work of ART!

I just bought this keyboard a few nights ago but have already used most of its features, and I'm completely blown away by it. Its new sleek design is just awesome and the keys are so quiet on it. The USBs work flawlessly with no problems with errors coming up saying not enough power.

I did read a review on here about the spacebar not working reliable but I have no complaints about that ether it works fine so I don't know if apple fixed it or its just some keyboards that have that problem but all is great. Apple did a amazing job on this keyboard it almost puts the old one to shame. Great job guys!!!

Great but 1 defect (also solutions for some other reviews)

I just purchased this keyboard for my powermac g5 because it sure matches the look of it better than the white one that came with it. Unfortunately, my right arrow key is sticky. It just seems to take a split second longer to come back up than any of the other keys and sounds different too.

I noticed that in another review somebody said it doesn't work with vista. I believe if you insert a leopard disk while running windows, it will install drivers for the function keys. Also somebody else was disappointed because the usb ports were not powered enough to support his ipod, but almost all keyboards with usb ports on them are this way. They are just enough for a mouse and perhaps some other small accessory.

    Excellent keyboard

I've had this keyboard for about a day and it is so nice to type on. The time it took to get use to it wasn't more than 30 minutes. The keys have a nice tactile feel and are spaced so that you don't tend to hit the wrong key while typing. The low angle it forms with the desk top makes it much easier on your wrist which is great if you have problems with arthritis like I do. It also seems to be well made and is surprisingly heavy for something this thin.

I would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

I am very pleased with it (except for one point)

I spilled coffee on my old keyboard (FYI: not good to do). I tried my best to clean it, but to no avail.

I almost ordered another keyboard (an ergonomic keyboard), then read a review that the other keyboard didn't have a numeric keypad. That wasn't acceptable.

Then I found this keyboard. Reasonably inexpensive. I bought it.

    It is a great keyboard.

    Good points:
    19 function keys!
Useful icons on some of the function keys (Dashboard, Exposé, etc. In other words, made for Mac OS X)
    Unbelievably slim
    Aesthetically pleasing

    Bad point:
The USB ports on the keyboard are off of the ends instead of the back. Not good for my USB memory stick.

But the Good points far outweigh the Bad points. Bottom line: I'm very happy with my purchase.

    Excellent accessory

This is perhaps the nicest overhaul of any component or accessory I've seen in many a moon. I love the (almost) flat profile; the steadiness (no slipping and sliding); and the tactile feel of the keys (almost like typing on a flat desktop surface).

In short, I'm sold. I'd like to see the wireless version when it's full-grown. For now, this is near-perfect.

    one of the best keyboards

This could be the best keyboard I've ever had the pleasure to type with.

I've been a software engineer for the past 22 years and I must say I am very impressed with the feel of this keyboard.

It feels solid, has just the right amount of keyboard clatter (subjective to preference) but most important feature is that it lies really flat on the desk and coupled with its solidness feel plus the texture of the keys provides for a very pleasing experience.

You almost feel like you want to type more and more and faster and faster. I don't know what it is but just feel s right.

    Enjoy

    Definitely a fine upgrade

I've been using their various keyboard since 2003. This by far is the best one they've designed to date. Over the years I've always compared various keyboards to the Thinkpad's I used before going over to Apple completely. I feel that Apple has finally beaten the Thinkpad keyboard with this offering. The keys move with just the right amount of feedback, while remaining almost silent. Much better than previous models that had the distinctive clicking sound to them. Makes the last model feel like a dinosaur. My question to Apple is 'How will you top this one?"

    Amazing!

This is a sleek and beautiful keyboard. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I've found that I can type more quickly than on my old Apple keyboard (Bluetooth). I wish this keyboard was wireless, but not a big deal. Recommended...

    Best Keyboard Ever

Far and away the best keyboard I have ever used. Sleek, stylish, and the best part: it's a pleasure to type on. I wish every keyboard in the world could be like this one.

    Amazing Compatability

I run the Linux distribution openSUSE, but have always loved the Apple style and operating system. My old keyboard needed replacement, so I decided to go all out and buy this keyboard, and don't regret it for an instant. I plugged it right into Linux, and it just worked! Beautiful keyboard all around!

    Nothing short of brilliant!

What's not to like? It's small, comfortable, beautiful, quiet, and much easier to type quickly and correctly. My former white mac keyboard, at home and office, had an annoying sticking or binding feel...possibly due to the angle at which I strike the keys. Not so with this new keyboard. Aesthetically, it pairs perfectly with both of my white/aluminum iMacs and my Mac Pro and looks like it was specifically built for both. Frankly, I don't like using traditional keyboards now. For a product this good and innovative, it is worth $49.

    Love it!

You can't go wrong with this one. Like going from their old keyboard (yugo) to a Porsche, Very comfortable. If you buy, when you get it you will need to go to system preferences then universal access and turn off mouse keys to get the key pad to work.

One more thing, don't forget to get your software for it by doing an apple update!

    Best Wired Keyboard Ever

I've used lots of keyboards with a variety of computers. This is the easiest to use and most aesthetic keyboard I've had my hands on, except maybe it's wireless cousin. I bought both and have no regrets. In fact they are both extremely pleasing and worth the money.

Form and function -- AN AMAZING KEYBOARD!

I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD! It's design is, well... Apple... genius of the refined aesthetic. It is the embodiment of the whole notion that less is more.... like a Danish Modern piece of furniture. It's really so nice to look at. From a functional perspective, it's pretty darn perfect as well. For me, anyway. Why didn't anyone think thin like this before? It's ergonimally so much better suited to work with human hands... no need for any additional props to lift your wrist up to achieve a comfortable position.. You just lay your hands on the desk where they naturally fall, and and this keyboard gently supports them... simply amazing...... simply, perfect.
