What a disappointment and financial waste.

I love my MacBook Pro, and I loved the power adapter. Now I see what everybody's talking about. I have had my Mac for a year and some months and the power adapter won't even connect enough to power the LED on it. Apple says they listen to their customers, if they truly do, they will change this piece of &#^¥. I paid over $1000 for a computer and I expected quality. One star? I only put it because they made me.

    Worst product they make

Sure it sounds like a great idea, and really it is a great idea. Where this product fails is the execution. The quality is really poor, but you would never know it by the price! Every single one I've had has failed after about a year.
Don't try telling the apple store employee that though. Every time I've gone to get a new one and complain about the faulty product I've only heard what I did wrong. Of course I must be the problem.
Too bad you don't have a choice, gotta charge your MacBook somehow.

Disconnectability of Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter, Model No.: A1344

Apple claims that the Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector that will disconnect from the computer upon undue strain. This however is not entirely true. The new model of the MagSafe Adapter, Model No.: A1344, is really worse compared to the older models featuring the disconnectable magnetic DC connector. If the strain is applied in the direction of the power cable while it's connected, in other words, if one were to simply pull the cable while it is connected to the laptop, the connector does not disconnect but simply pulls the entire laptop along with it instead. This is exactly what happened with my laptop. I tripped over the power cable, unaware that it was coiled around my leg, and I ended up pulling the laptop down from the table. Fortunately, the aluminium casing took most of the impact and the computer is still functional. However, this is the very risk that Apple claims to avoid by their innovative power cable design. I'm really dissatisfied with this new model. I strongly urge Apple to revert to their older model of DC connectors that were truly disconnectable under strain applied in any direction.

3 in less than 2 years

I can't in good conscience, recommend apple products to anyone due to the fact that I have replaced 3rd and going on my 4th 60w Mag Safe Power adapter within 2 years. Apple we have a problem! At $80.00 why fix it that is good revenue!!! When you spend $1200 one might expect an accessory to last.
I give it one star to alert potential victims of apple to look elsewhere.

    Overpriced Junk

I've had my macbook for less than 2 years, I'm the sole user and the charger is not mishandled in any way. Last month I noticed that the L-shaped connector began to get very hot and the charger just quit working yesterday. I was very unhappy to find that it will cost $79 for a new one, especially after I read the terrible reviews. Shame on Apple for soaking their loyal customers by selling this overpriced piece of junk.

    Piece of junk

I am onto my third one. Typical Apple making their gear fail so they charge you horrendously more than you should be paying for this junk. Don't buy this one, go to eBay and get one. Apple doesn't get the profit and you actually get an adapter that isn't trash.

The WORST thing in the World!

I am a huge apple fan. I almost love everything they make. But this MAG safe charger for my macbook pro 13 inch is ridiculous. I am so frustrated with it that I planned to create an apple id and write this review. For God's sake improve the pathetic design of this horrible thing!
I think apple should all a rating of zero or maybe -1 for this thing.

    No Good!

The adapter never did work properly. It failed after I only owned it for a few weeks. Now, 6 months later, it won't work at all. Really poorly designed.

Dumb that you can't buy replacement pieces

We have only had our MacBook Pro for a little over 1.5 years. I can't believe that the power cord simply fell out of the little magnetic piece that connects it to the computer. Very cheep. What's even more annoying is that they don't sell a replacement piece for that. It would take two seconds to re-solder that piece with a two dollar replacement part from Radio Shack. Instead I have to pay 80 bucks to replace the whole darn thing. I'm very disappointed in this.

    Do not LAST!!!

Poor design, the power cord stopped working after one year of using at home! The problem is with the cable near the magnet, do not last! I have another power adapter older, that one that is rectangular and it's working until now after three years! Please redesign the power cord with magnet end!

    Expensive and very poorly designed

This is the 2nd one of these I've had to replace. They just one day stop working. One died at home and one at a client's office. The last one I had to buy was $85 freakin' bucks!!! They're a big awkward block (sound familiar?) that often causes a powerstrip to tip over making it's connection to it questionable and they eventually just short out. There are 3rd party versions that are better and cheaper. Apple's design decisions become more questionable every year. Although, it is a rectangle with rounded corners, so you know it's patented ;)

Adapter chargers for this product do not last :(

I have had my macbook pro for only a year and a half. Already the charger adapter's white wire casing near the magnetic end of the MagSafe connector is tearing and shredding all on it's own, exposing the wire itself. This is happening for seemingly no reason besides from basic coiling, which any wire can withstand and comes with basic use of the object, like lifting the wire from point A to point B. As i keep the computer and the chord in the same room always. I am guessing the thin white wire insulation that is supposed to protect the wire is too weak and thin. It cannot handle basic use! Now I need a new one. And I've owned it for no longer than a year and a half and have treated this product like a baby as to make sure not to ruin it. Now I've got to get a new charger for it and seeing as 80$ is very expensive for something that broke on it's own. I am not a happy customer. :/

    Easily Broken

I've had this charger appox. 5 months, and I started having problems with the charger 1-2 months ago, sometimes it wouldn't charge and sometimes the charger head would feel really hot. It has broken completely yesterday. It is not worth buying a $80 replacement as a Highschool student, that is fraeking expensive.
