    Awful...and expensive

Plan on buying at least one a year.
These cords are poorly made, I have had to buy one each year since I've had my Mac. Please make them more resilient.

    not great

i've had my 15" macbook pro for about a year now, and the rubber covering on the cord where it connects to the adapter has split and has a bunch of frayed wires hanging out.

Had this for 10 months and the part that plugs into the computer FELL OFF. I hope warranty will cover it because I will NOT be happy if I have to pay $80 to get it replaced.

Doesn't Connect With Super Thin Protective Case On Macbook Pro

If I could give this zero stars I would. This charger will not connect to my Macbook Pro when the protective case that I bought from Apple at the Apple Store, the super thin one, is on my laptop. I literally have to remove the bottom protective cover if I want to use this power adapter. How did this error get overlooked in product testing? Taking this protective case off daily or even multiple times in a day is unacceptable.

    Absolutely Disappointed

My Mac Book Pro Power Adapter has just stopped working, I use my Mac to DJ events and smack in the middle of an event my MAC the Mixer stopped working because of the low power on the Mac. The failure was damaging and Apple should have taken better care in it's design approach.

Dead after less than a year...

The "L" connector was no problem, but cable still takes strain in other places. Mine broke open right next to the transformer. You've got no alternative anyways... why even read/write a review about this thing. Sigh...

    Bad Design

Looks like I will have to buy a third power adapter. Same problem each time. Short in the cord at the transformer box. I feel it is a flaw in the design. I expect more from apple products. But what can you do, not to many options. I would really rate this less than one star. But I guess Apple feels they deserve at least one star. Note: I've been Apple faithful from the firs Macs

    It melted!

I was unpleasantly surprised after charging my computer (15-inch macbook pro) to find that there, in the middle of the cord, was a split in the wire casing that was almost an inch long. I continued to use the charger because it worked and the replacement is ridiculously expensive. About a week later, the wire casing near where the cord attaches to the computer had split as well. Not to mention, when I tried to unplug the cord from my computer, it burned me. I'm very dissatisfied with the product.

    Broken Again

I never write reviews regarding products because usually I simply do not care enough, but these chargers are just awful. 3 have broken in the last 6 weeks, mostly just "stop working" with no obvious damage at all, and at £60 a piece the unnecessary price builds up, but there's no alternative to buying another, except spending thousands on a new computer...

    Nice aesthetics however not durable

I am on my 5th adaptor in 18 months, real shame as Apple products are usually such high quality. Each time it has been the same problem, light on the charger just goes out and a message on the display of my macbook pro states 'not charging' Not good enough for the money, I have had chargers on lesser laptops last 5 years

    Garbage - AGAIN!

I bought a new MacBook in August (4 months ago) and already need to replace the power cord. This is after going through 4 power adapters in 4 years of owning my previous MacBook. And to add insult to injury, when you walk into an Apple store to complain about the problem, they say they know all about it, but you still have no choice but to spend $80+ on a new one. Are you kidding me Apple? This was supposed to be the "improved" design. How hard is it to design a power adapter? I'm quickly losing my patience with this company.

    It melts

This is by far the worst product that apple has designed. Yesterday while I was charging my MacBook I smelled a funny smell and I looked down to see the charger melting the cord on the floor, I couldn't believe my eyes. Apple really needs to address this problem from what I have seen it is fairly commen

    Score: Apple - 3 / Me - 0

I can't believe I'm running into power adapter issues all over again on this MacBook Pro. After 2 faulty adapters on my old PowerBook in 4 years I thought for sure Apple was onto something with this whole MagSafe concept. I was wrong.

13 months after slapping down $3200 for this machine I'm forced to fork over $80 to fund Apple's design flaw. I'm absolutely tired of this garbage. It's unacceptable.

    Very Poor Design

What do you expect from using such a thin chord in your design? After less than a year of use the attachment to the adapter itself frayed, rendering the entire product useless. Apple should be offering free replacement for what is so obviously a design flaw.

    Design flaw

Because of the compact attachment to the laptop, it becomes necessary to remove the charger via the cord with a slight tug. The last few weeks the connection has become inconsistenced, after daily attempts of "playing with the cord" to get the connection just right . The cord gave away from the input. Totally poor design on Apple's part. At this price I'll buy
Knock off chargers as they last just as long for a 1/3 of the price!

    Just awful

I am on my fifth one of these in the 15 months that I have owned the computer. 2 of them burned up, and the other 2 just quit working. I hate spending $80 on these every 3 months, I think this is where apple gets their money from. Never buying from apple again.

Very poor quality for an Apple product

I'm very frustrated with the quality of the power adapter, considering the quality of the Apple computers themselves. Why pair such an amazing product with such an inferior accessory?! My wife has had her Macbook Pro for just over a year, and we had to buy a new power cord today. I wouldn't have cared so much if it hadn't cost $80 to replace it! The super thin cable and the way it connects to the power adapter is poorly designed. A thin cable is asking for trouble, especially when you have something so heavy attached to it. With all the moving around and winding of the cord, the cord simply frays and falls apart. Why has Apple not improved on this product after 2/5 stars and nearly 500 reviews in the Apple store? Are they not listening to our concerns or do they simply not care because they're making so much money from replacement accessories?

I WISH they would redesign these! I am on my 3rd adapter. I am so tired of paying $80 every few months to get a new one because the line gets a kink or something. I love apple products, but may go back to a :::shudder:::: PC if this keeps up.

    fire hazard!! blew out!!

I was working on my laptop this morning (MacBook Pro) and heard a loud "pop" and I noticed smoke coming out to my charger! I unplugged it immediately and it was very hot. Almost too hot too handle. Apple needs to fix these chargers and offer replacements ASAP as they are poorly made and can obviously be fire hazards. I would not recommend leaving this plugged in and walking away from it as it may be dangerous. I have never had an Apple product that failed like this.

Two charger broke in less than 3 weeks after buying.

I got the macbook pro 2011 15' at the start of November 2011. Two weeks later the original charger stopped working. After buying a new one because of necessity and because there isn't an apple store in Oxford it broke again three days after buying.
This is too much I spent 55pounds on a second charger while waiting for the first one to repair and it broke before they even had the time to fix the first one!. Big problem here apple.
