    Self Destruction Cable

I rarely write a comment in the review. This product which must be of high-quality due to its importance, but this is the worst product of a reputable company as apple. The rubber outside around the metal inside starts to self-tear apart although I don't touch it. all the rubber along the cable tore apart by itself !!!!!!! I couldn't believe what was happening till it is all on the metal inside and no white rubber at all... so I get a rope and wrapped the metal inside as not to be cut off. and I tried as much as I can, not to take it out of the house and never bend it... actually I cared too much as I know it is easily broken.. but after all of that... no the metal is not broken but it is NOT RESPONDING and NOT CHARGING my iphone !!!!!!!!!!! I am so shocked and tooo frustrated after all of that care !!!!

Awful design, over priced and breaks easily.

Apple I love your products but I have to say your charge leads are awful.

They break easily they are over priced and they are not long enough.

When you have multiple Apple products and family members using them you begin to realise how bad they are.

    Standard Usb leads work fine..

    Once again disappointed

Like everyone else, my leads keep breaking!

I purchased my third cable in a year (2 metre ong as the standard is impossibly short) at the end of December. It is now the beginning of February and it has already broken in less than two months!

    Expensive and unreliable!

Deeply disappointed with Apple and the quality and price of their products.

    This is pathetic

Incredibly short-lived and unreliable USB cable. (Even less reliable and stable then their cloud services, which is a little hard to imagine but actually true...) I definitely recommend using a good 3rd party cable if you don't want to replace it in a couple months.

    Horrible!!!

I have been through so many oem Apple chargers it’s insane!! They never last Apple should be ashamed! After going through countless chargers , then I came across Anker. They have the best chargers for Apple products.

    Simply the Worst

My iPhone 7 Plus is so far the best smart phone I've ever own. However, its cable is simply the worst, even compared to less-sophisticated and cheap Chinese smart phone!

    Not Durable

I have been using iPhones for past 9 years and never had any problem with the older version of charging cables that used to come with iphone 3g to iPhone 5.

I am not impressed with the lighting USB cable, I have purchased more that 5 cables in the the last 5 years, they either break or stop functioning.

I got and 'X' last month and the cable has gone bad, just in one month... Horrible, unacceptable...
I took the cable to the apple store and they said the tip has been corroded and they cannot replace it as its supposed to be a water damage.I am sure I have never got my cable in contact with water. It may be because of sweat on my fingers, but one month is seriously not acceptable.. I cannot pay 29 dollars every month to get a new cable..

I've had to replace my lead because it had deteriorated so much

First of all why is the lead so short? Secondly when you try to tidy away it's next to impossible to wrap up. Neither I consider unreasonable requirements. Every single other manufacturer of wires don't produce there's like this, nor are they white which I guess is personal taste. They also have a unique plug, so you are unable to buy alternative.

    Poor quality

I love everything about Apple except chargers, they keep breaking. Please consider improving the quality since thay are not cheap.

    Absolutely horrible

The worst charger ever made, c’mon Apple make something better before there’s an option to make a zero star rating cause that’s all you’ll be getting with these.

1 star is too good total Garbage

How can you use your phone if you cant charge it. Had my 6S for a year now and no chargers work on it. Not Apple, not any aftermarket chargers. I have cleaned it with contact cleaner. blown out the dust. cleaned the cords. This lightning connector is the worst charger/connector on the market.

    Lousy quality.

My experience is that these cables don't last long. New one in August and replaced in December. Now need to replace that one. Waste of money.

    Be careful then

I love how everybody is complaining about how easy these cables are to break. Maybe if you were actually careful with your things you wouldn't have this problem. I have been using the same cord and block for just shy of two years now and it is still in almost perfect condition. Its called being careful and not being careless with your things. I dont pretend its made of glass but I also dont mess with it endlessly and just destroy it. This is like everything else. If you take care of it will last, if you act like its indestructible its gonna break pretty fast.

I don't understand the bad reviews...

I have had DOZENS of Lightning devices, and probably 2 or 3 dozen Lightning cables. To my knowledge, the only two cables that have died (2) were both third-party cheapies from Groupon; I have never had a genuine Apple Lightning cable fail, and that includes cables from almost 6 years ago now. Cables that are used every day. Cables that are used in our cars. By our kids. Cables that are constantly unplugged and plugged in our kitchen.

I've just never had a problem with an Apple cable, and that's despite me really, really wanting a cheaper alternative.

    lightining cable

firstly it is very expensive (you can buy a new mobile phone with the price)
secondly, after market ones expensive and stop working after a while dont know why? I blame apple spying!
thirldly, they are not durable always break some from tip some from cord end but they break eventually.
I wish they would be cheap (just a cable no explaination why it should that expensive) and reliable should last years in normal day to day use. I have to charge everyday due to battery doesnt last long.

    I hope Apple listens

Review of new IPhone SE and Apple Lightning cable

Just received a new IPhone SE as a Christmas present.
After initially charging perfectly and setting it up like my old one, I was somewhat surprised
to find that the phone refuses to charge using the Apple supplied Lightning cable.
Using another new cable had the same problem.
Interestingly, my daughter's old cable, partly held together with sticky tape, actually works.
(Unfortunately, sticky tape does not appear to help the new cables)
I was under the impression that Apple's products are a cut above it's competitors.
Apple would be wise to look into the suppliers manufacturing standards, as there is no point in paying for
a premium product, if it turns out to be sub-standard.
It will be interesting to see what Apple's after-sale service is like for this sort of thing.
    Very disappointed.

    Serious design issues

Constantly break --- surely these can be improved and still keep your profit margins
