4 cables in 6months and no help from apple!

I have just had to buy my 4th cable as it has stopped working yet again
Something is very wrong with these cables and apple know this is a money trap
I have been into an apple store to enquire about a replacement as they are faulty and was just told I would have to buy another cable
Thanks for nothing apple - your taking advantage of your customers and offer no help or solution to this situation
    Absolutely disgusted!

Sorry Apple ... this time you've got it TOTALLY WRONG!

Suddenly, at Heathrow last night, I desperately needed to charge my 'phone ... I was worried about accessing my coach ticket held on my iPhone 5S. Nothing!! In the end, nothing would charge. Reading all these other reviews I'm yet another sad statistic ... and it's APPLE!! What would have happened with my air ticket on Passport??

Please ... Tim Cook ... it's just not fair!!

Absolute Garbage, where is apple headed?

I've had my ipad for literally 2 weeks and the cord is so cheap and flimsy that it has stopped working all ready. I know it's the cord because it charges with other cords, like my iPhone 5 cord. Where is apple headed? This is the kind of cheap oversight that makes you wonder about the quality of their products. If they cheap out on the cords, who's to say they don't cheap out on the screens, or batteries, or camera in the ipad?

    SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

I've wanted an iPhone for the longest time and when I finally got one, I was so excited! Although I have been enjoying the iPhone, there are two things that are SO FRUSTRATING!! The first thing is the battery life. I NEVER have battery, and my friends are always laughing at me because every time they see me, my phone would be dead. I was sucking it up until this "lightning" usb cable broke. Like....I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE IT FOR A YEAR YET!??!!?!??! Now not only do I have a phone that dies quickly, I CAN'T EVEN CHARGE IT ALTOGETHER!!! I am honestly so disappointed and frustrated. These lightning cables are not even cheap and you would think Apple would have good quality products. Please fix this Apple, the iPhone is already so expensive I can't have another added $21 expense every couple of months!!!!

    Absolute horrible quality.

Mine only lasted a month then it stopped working properly. My brother had to get himself a new one too, his lasted him a month as well. Apple makes these chargers so that they break easily and you can keep wasting your money buying new ones,

    This is sad

Two broken cables after under a year, have to buy a third one now. I have read many other reviews. I can assure you that I am not the only one. How could the designers in apple sleep at night, living with the conscience of having created such a worthless product? I hope this is not some sick way of making extra money.

By the way I have now figured out how to prolong the lifetime of the cable. Whenever you unplug it, hold the hard plastic part of the charger instead of the soft rubber part.

    Consider Customer Usability

Why would you make a cable in flexible rubber that breaks from flexing? Oh you used your cable to charge your phone and moved it around while it's connected? We at apple didn't anticipate such use but we are happy to provide you with another for $20. Were all the apple engineers from five years ago fired? The iPhone 5 lasts about an hour when used sparingly and when you try to charge it with a broken cable no bueno. Yes I did the spring mod to try to save the cable, no it didn't work. No I didn't take it on some extreme sport adventure. This cable has been on my bed for it's miserable life and that's it. Why can't you put just a little more effort into this one little thing? Does it save that much money for the company? When the risk analysts went over how much it would costs to replace these did you figure that people would just be lazy and buy new cables? When did quality give way to junk? If this is a telling of the direction of the company then good luck in the long term.

    should be a '0' star ....

DO NOT buy this product!!! How they can justify the price when you can get the same thing off a well known auction site for about £1 is beyond me. The quality is equally bad but at least I am getting what I pay for .... I have gone through at least 6-7 wires. Docking stations do seem to be more robust . . .

    breaks really easily

I've had to go through about 7 chargers in a year. The wire breaks easily and takes very long to charge. overall, i'm not impressed.

    Lightning Cable

If the designer of this silly charger was put on life-support, and this charger powered the machine, god help him.

Great phone, silly, useless, low-quality, over-priced ancillaries marketed in terms of style and functionality, bud decidedly useless.

Unfortunately, a charger is rather necessary in the grand scheme of things.

Apple, sort it out. And apologise. Profusely. Not to the share-holders and quarterly finance types..but the customers. The people who actually buy the stuff. And need to charge their very expensive phones. Free cables please.

Poor lighting cable, doesn't last long

Like a number of other customers, I too have problems with the lightning cable where it attaches to the actual lightning part/ attachment of the cable. I originally thought that I was just unlucky with the cable provided with the latest purchased ipad. Charging unit and cable rarely leave my house and is stored very carefully. Obviously it's a design fault, which is a shame as all other apple products that I have purchased (including cables for non lighting products), have been fine and well designed. As far as I am concerned this lets down the quality of the apple product name. I write this just after purchasing a third cable in 9 months, and they are not cheap!!!! Apple please take note and look into improvement in design on this particular type of cable. Thanks.

    WORST CHARGER IN THE WORLD!

This charger is literally the worst ! I have had my iPhone 5 for a little over a year now and I have repeatedly had my charger all of a sudden stop working and be fried to buy a new one. I am about to buy my 3rd one ! This is ridiculous! For the amount of money we pay for these devices, you'd think that the least Apple could do was create an effective charger. Before this phone, I had an iPhone 3gs which was handed down to me by my cousin who previously had it for 2 years. I then had the phone for 2 years and not once did that charger break. I still use it to this day for my iPod. Its also not fair because not everyone has the money to buy a new charger so frequently. I believe that the charger to last just as long (if not longer) than the time that you have the phone. Point is this charger is absolute rubbish so be expected to pay $19 every few months or so.

    Poor Quality

Apple really needs to look into the quality of the lightning to USB Cables. I seem to be spending more now on replacing these cables than any other accessory. They should last for more than a year! I bought one that just stopped working, no reason. Tried to connect it to various USB devices and just doesn't charge phone. The other cable is coming apart at the base of the lightning connector. I basically use one at home, one at the office, and keep another in the car. 2 out of the 3 have been poor. Now I am looking for either a third-party option...$20 plus tax every time is getting a bit much!!!

    One per month

I've spent nearly a 100$ so far since I've had my iPhone due to these adaptors breaking or simply stop working for no given reason. To add to my frustration none of my car adaptors are accepted by my phone meaning there have been times I've had absolutely no way of charging my phone

Terrible value... been through so many

I'm very disappointed in Apple! I got an iPod touch 5th gen last Christmas, and this cable came with it. It lasted maybe a month or two, until it started bending and stopped working. I brought it into the store and they said I would have to purchase a new one, and they wouldn't replace it. For 20 dollars? No way. I bought a few online from a cheap website for around 1 - 2 dollars each , all of which lasted longer than Apple's. I'm very disappointed in Apple's new cords! I had an iPod touch 3rd gen awhile ago, and never had this problem. I went through one cord for the 4 or so years I had it! They shouldn't have even changed the lightning USB cable if they weren't going to make a quality cord for it. I would not recommend this product, go find some cheaper.

Did Apple actually test before releasing it?

I have had my iPhone 5 for little over a week which I bought for Christmas. It lasted 6 days. The end eventually rips off due to pulling (as required) 'gently' the cable out when finished syncing music or charging. how has Apple designed such a poor cable???
I'm now stuck with a dead iPhone and have to order a new one from Tesco. I read other reviews and I agree. Why hasn't Apple done something already about these poor cables. It's like they purposely have them this non-durable so they can keep selling you all with this cheap design.

    An unhappy customer.
