    A pain

2 months after purchasing my phone the charger stopped working unless I played with it for a little while. After 6 months of playing with it to get it to charge EVERY night it is nearly finished. I am seriously thinking about leaving apple because this is just Dumb. Make a quality charger already.

Poor quality, to say the least.

I, and I think just about any tech worthy person these days knows that you must care for your wires. Wrap them in the correct way and so on. When I purchased this, I did exactly that, just as I did with the older Apple charger, but to my complete disappointment and extreme annoyance, Apple once again has succeeded in making me spend more money where I shouldn't have to. Just as many of these reviews say my charger's wires have broken where it joins the lightning adapter. Although the charging speeds are good this is a terrible fault in an essential product and needs to fixed right away. I mean come on Apple, it's not like you haven't got the money.

    Junk don't buy.

This is junk, breaks after couple months then another 20-30 dollars to fix. What a scam. Apple should replace them no matter how long the warranty. DONT BUY!

    Awful!

I must be on my fifth charger in the past two months. For such a huge company Apple have really let themselves down. Stronger chargers need to be created asap. A complete waste of money.

Breaks inside rubber casing, too short, overall bad

I am currently on my second cable which has just broken. My iPod 5th gen is slowly losing power. I have no way to charge it because what the cable does is it breaks on the inside of the rubber casing around the wire itself. I have no way to fix it because I don't want to cut the thing open and I've tried more than once to fix it other ways by twisting it, bending it until it worked, and more. But even though that gets me by for a while, after a day or two of this hassle it breaks entirely and they are very short for 20$. I am using my English teacher's tomorrow.

    Charger not fit for purpose

My Charger stopped working overnight. In the last 3 weeks my iphone 5 charger stopped working - my macbook air charger stopped working and today my sons ipad mini charger has stopped working. Charges from my charger not his. This is SERIOUSLY effecting my outlook of apple products. Apple you need to sort this

    Pointless and rubbish

I don't understand why they were changed - what this cable offers that the old style doesn't is unclear. Size was hardly and issue...so previous (and convenient) collection now redundant. As reviewers mention - quality is pretty poor also. A rare slip from Apple, though frankly a minor one in the grand scheme of things.

does not deserve half a star rating

This product doesn't even deserve half a star. very poor quality. Visited store and claimed for a warranty but was denied and was blamed for mis-use. How would it be mis-used if the product is of poor quality.

CHANGE THE QUALITY OF YOUR CABLE! PLEASE!!!!!!

i just bought my iphone 5 like 3 months ago! how unsturdy is the 1m cable that came with it!
after 3mos of normal use, it suddenly changed, like u have to bend it in different sides till u get it charged! and now it is not working at all!
this is so frustrating when you just bought it, and u discovered how poorly made it was!
please improve this kind of accessory...some wire at the end looses..that's the prob i think.
look at other people's feedback.. we are having the same issues. so there is a definite need to
    improve this. thanks! >_<

    Design Flaw

Lets face it, this is a design flaw. They need to completely redesign the cable to make it stronger. I have just ordered a batch of third party cables as its cheaper to have a few spares and throw them away if they stop working than keep buying one expensive cable.

    Terrible!

I got a new iPhone 5 about 3 months ago and so far I have gone through 4 cables! They just stopped working and the wires are all exposed at the connection! I'm not rough with it either. I never had this problem with my iPhone 4S. This review doesn't even deserve 1 star considering how much money I have spent replacing cables!

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars

    Worst cable I've ever used.

Seriously? It hasn't even been 4 months and the cable's broken! Is this like some money making scheme where the cable doesn't even last 4 months and people are forced to buy another cable?! So annoyed.

    TERRIBLE! BREAKS SO EASILY!

Firstly ive gone through 4 cables in 8 months. The plug part is too small to hold onto and pull out of the device without pulling on the wire. I also own an iphone4 with the old cable and ive had ONE cable from when i first got the iphone for about 2 years! The old cable has way more grip that you dont pull on the wires when you unplug the phone. This new "lightening" cable breaks and the wires fray around the plug part. Also with the new ios7 it detects whether or not your cable is an actual apple brand cable and wont charge if its not! So i have to spend $25 on a flimsy piece of wire that will break in 2 months when i could buy the exact same cable for $5 and not care if it breaks in 2 months. MAKE IT DURABLE!

    Absolute GARBAGE

Apple this product is absolute garbage, I have had to replace my charger 5 times now and am getting sick of it!!!
I never had problems like this with my iphone 4 but this 'new and improved' charger is just a joke. Despicable!!!

    Awful!

Had my iPhone 5 for a while now and every night before bed when I try to get it to charge, it is a struggle to say the least. The charging cable only works when put in a specific position which, after an arduous struggle, is very temperamental; It buzzes all the time while charging. On many occasions I have almost bought a new cable, only being held back by the notion that the problem could be my phone. Reading other reviews posted here, it seems the cable is the issue. It also seems that buying a new cable would not solve the problem and I am now looking into investing into a NON-APPLE made dock. Maybe that would actually work!

Absolutely terrible, I'm now on my 5th charger in 2 months. The plastic casing starts to crack meaining the phone is constantly vibrating as it goes off and on charge all night!!! Bought and brand new charger and tried to rap some tape to stop it from cracking didnt work at all.

    Not worth the £15

I was given an iPad mini for my Christmas in 2012 and the charger that was included was fine until mid-way through April. I had to bend the cable in certain directions to charge it and then it stopped working completely in July. I ordered another one and it came a week later but that charger only lasted 3 weeks. I then ordered another one which arrived a few days ago but it broke the same day that I got it. Extremely disappointed with these chargers :(

    Worked for about a month.

Got my iPhone 5 at the end of June and my lead stopped working today. Both ends (the lightening end and the USB end) have become mis-shapen and all twisted? Phone only charges in certain positions and when I pick up my phone it stops charging.
Terrible product, going in the apple store soon to enquire about getting a replacement, guessing that I'll need more than one replacement!
