Works GREAT after reading the online instructions

    • Written by Stanley J L from Diamond

Thought it was defective or junk the first time I tried it from my iPhone SE to TV. Only blank screen.
Searched online and saw lots of negative comments but also positive, looked to the apple site for using the AV adaptors. Once I turned off the TV and then turned it on again, everything on the iPhone was mirrored!!!!! Photos, Movies, and just plain anything on the screen. There are a couple of other suggestions on the site also.

    Product is good but

    • Written by Ronald R from Pittsburgh

My Lightning to HDMI adapter doesn’t work since Apple upgraded my iPad to IOS 11. Why would Apple do something like that? UNBELIEVABLE!
And I can see from the other posts “NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.”
It’s up to Apple to fix it.

    LET’S SEE IF THEY DO!

What the heck are you all doing?

    • Written by Anna H from Red Bud

I can't understand what all the whining is about. I've had one of these since Christmas and never had a problem with it in 6 months. If you have wifi I can't imagine you needing this adapter -- just get a device like the Fire TV stick or Roku or whatever so you can watch all the Netflix/Hulu you want. But for those of us who are out of wifi range or just don't even have traditional internet (like houses in the boonies that only satellite internet can reach) yet DO have unlimited cell phone data, you can't go wrong with this.

Like someone else said, there's some simple tricks for making it work.

    A) Don't be a slob. Don't bend or twist the connector, don't leave it laying around in dusty or dirty places, don't shove it in your pocket when you go to a friend's house. Blow out your (probably filthy) lightning slot before inserting the adapter. Maybe $50 isn't a lot to other folks but I've been treating my adapter like it's worth a lot, and it's rewarded me in turn.

    B) Seriously, just start the freaking video on your phone before you plug the adapter into it. You'll miss what, .5 seconds that you can rewind? Video connection has always been guaranteed for me when I do this. I watch all the major streaming apps with no problem.

    Perfect for my use

    • Written by Richard K from London

I bought this simply to be able to mirror my iPad screen onto a large tv. I rent films from iTunes onto my iPad and iPhone. Watching a film on an iPhone is less than ideal so this cable allows me to watch films (or my photos and videos) on a large screen. For that purpose this cable is perfect.

Works perfectly with iOS 11 and Netflix

    • Written by Patrick A from Olney

I have no idea why all the bad reviews are here, I got the adapter today and after trying out a second HDMI cable it worked perfectly. I just had to restart the Netflix app and I saw the picture. The first cable was working too, the quality was just not so good because of the poor quality of the cable itself. Picture and Audio (tested up to 1080p) is working smoothly and perfect. I've also tested the charging feature and it worked too.

    Make sure you have power!

    • Written by RICHARD B from Bloomfield Hills

At first, couldn't get it to work. iPhone, iPad. But then I remembered that there is a power cord slot for the adapter. Plug that in (make sure it is 10W or 12W for iPads, 5W is fine for iPhone). Then it should let you mirror, show videos, etc. Guess Apple didn't want you to run out of juice while playing a video.

    Netflix not Apple

    • Written by Bruce T from Attleboro

My adapter works fine watching videos I have on my iPad or to watch YouTube videos or to even watch Netflix shows that are not downloaded. The only time I have this problem of no video with audio is when I try to watch a downloaded Netflix show.

    Works but is pricey

    • Written by Rick D from Port St Lucie

I received the adapter today and ran it through some tests. The adapter worked great. I used it on my iPhone 6S+ and iPad 3 with zero issues. I tested Netflix, watch espn, YouTube, and of course downloaded iTunes movies via the tv app on both devices. All videos we presented on the tv screen in full 16:9 HD, except watch espn which stayed in the smaller window feed. Although the price is high it will definitely serve its purpose when we are out camping and have limited wifi to watch a movie or sports event. I didn't try the watching tv feeds from the tv app, but will try later.

    Excellent Adaptor

    • Written by Tim L from Cambridgeshire

I use this adaptor a lot when I go to hotels ad want to watch films on my phone on the hotel TV. The only problem I had was one that I suspect some of the other reviewers have had....fluff in the lightning connector of my iPhone. This gives the wobbly connector problem. I could not sort this so I took it to an Apple shop and they cleaned it free of charge.

    1 Year Later. Still Perfect

    • Written by Jake L from Monroe

I purchased this adapter before screen mirroring was available without using wifi to watch movies through my unlimted data plan on the tv. I cant say that I havent had an issue once or twice, but the product is still working. I would like others to know when using this adapter you must use specific HDMI cables that support encoded media or the device will not send the information to the TV. Try using a different brand of HDMI, not the one that came with your tv provider or a gas station. The movies and tv shows I stream through Netflix and iTunes do display in full 1080P (when my provider isnt degrading my connection) Overall this is a very handy product and have loved using it.

not sure why the low rating

    • Written by Steve S from Raleigh

I was hesitant to buy this product based on all the bad reviews.

Bought it to play Beasts of Balance on my iPhone SE and displayed on my 60 inch TV via HDMI.

Have had no problems. Looks great.

Now, it's only been a few hours. Perhaps it will crap-out. If things change, I'll post another review.

    Expensive but works great!

    • Written by Muzaffer B from London

I bought this cable without reading the reviews in here. It was cutting off when I moved the phone like other users and while searching the issue online, I read all the reviews and a bit disappointed. I wanted to give another chance and replaced the cable in Apple Store and it had issues again. So I decided to return it, went to Apple Store again, explained the issue and the guy said “can I take a look at your phone?” I gave my phone to him and he pulled out lots of dust from the lightning port! He told me it will be OK now and guess what, he was right! Nothing is wrong with the cable, it’s perfect, it was all about the dust because I carry my phone in my pocket all the time. Yes a little bit pricey but it’s a genuine Apple product, what were you expecting? If you have issues with this cable, clean up your iPhone's/iPad's lightning port please.

The Apple Digital AV Adapter Rocks!

    • Written by Brian J from Indianapolis

I have been using the same 2 Digital AV Adapter adapters for years now and have been using it with ios 11 with few problems. Currently I am using it with a 1st generation 12 inch iPad Pro with ios 11 as I write this reveiw while watching Lawerence Of Arabia on a 50 inch 4K Samsung TV and the playback is stunning. I have been able to use various Video apps such as HBO Go, Netflix, and Directv Now without any problems on the same iPad. The Hulu app did not play the video stream through the HDMI cable and I was only able to get the audio and Hulu Logo on the screen as I attempted to watch a TV show. I was able to see the Hulu Menu and the various Logos for TV shows and Movies put once I hit play I only get a blank screen with the exception of a Hulu logo with the audio track playing. I assume and hope that Hulu will fix their App for ios 11 so it can play Video streams through the Apple Digital AV Adapter. As a whole I have been very pleased with everything about the adapter except for the price.

    'almost' perfect!

    • Written by John W from Woburn

From my usage, over the past year, almost everything on your iPad will appear on your TV screen, except, BT Sport! They have just changed to the Google Chromecaste adapter. It's still worth buying for all it's other applications!

Bought it one month ago and it works great with iPad Pro and iPhone 6s. The output image has the same aspect ratio as the device it connected to but when watching videos it outputs the native video resolution. No problems with 1080p.

    Absolutely Worth It!

    • Written by Bayleigh K from Loxahatchee

I originally purchased this because I use my iPad for any of my in class college coursework in lieu of a laptop. This was purchased only to adapt my iPad to be able to display projects and powerpoint for in class presentations, any capabilities beyond that were a bonus for me. Not only does it do that perfectly, I have not seen any lag issues with playing video from my iPad either. I would recommend those giving this low reviews because it stopped working to take advantage of its one year warrantee and exchange it for a new product.

    Amazing but Expensive

    • Written by Jack A from Fargo

This product is really good I use it to stream
Movies and YouTube videos to my tv screen
50$ for this product is a lot of money
But I'd say it's pretty much worth the price.
