Works great on a lot of different devices

    • Written by RONALD M from Victoria

I have had this for almost 3 years now and it has always worked great. I have used it with iPhones 5C, 6SE, 7 and iPad 9.7 Pro. Never an issue on any of them. I have used it to connect to Sony and other TVs and several types of monitors.

Make sure it’s made by Apple!!

    • Written by James P from Frisco

This is an update to my previous review from yesterday (July 29). I bought an AV HDMI adapter recently over Amazon for $30. Went on vacation and did not work with streaming movies. Also noticed that it required to be plugged into a power source to mirror. Looked liked the Apple product including the box it came in. But it was not. It was a 3rd party product. After having issues, I went out today and bought the Apple brand adapter. Guess what? Of course it worked flawlessly.

My guess is those who have 3rd party products will have problems eventually especially after the iOS 11 update.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.

    Must Have!!!

    • Written by Adan R from Palmhurst

This adapter is a must-have! Especially when watching movies on your phone. Just connect your HDMI cable to it and set your iPhone for viewing on your tv. I've had this adapter for over a year now and It's been excellent. It automatically connects to my tv and you can watch your screen on the big screen I don't understand the low reviews. It's never skipped a bit since day one. Great adapter!!! Keep up the great work on Apple products.

Works great if you read and learn.

    • Written by Michael G from West Kelowna

First, clean the lint and fuzz out of your lightning port on your phone or ipad. remeber to always power off before doing this and be very very gentle so as to not damage any internal contacts. Second you must use a lightning power charger cord connected to this when streaming. Third, after connecting the HDMI to tv and starting your app then power on tv and switch to proper imput. If all fails then return to where purchased for full refund.

    Expensive but works great!

    • Written by Muzaffer B from London

I bought this cable without reading the reviews in here. It was cutting off when I moved the phone like other users and while searching the issue online, I read all the reviews and a bit disappointed. I wanted to give another chance and replaced the cable in Apple Store and it had issues again. So I decided to return it, went to Apple Store again, explained the issue and the guy said “can I take a look at your phone?” I gave my phone to him and he pulled out lots of dust from the lightning port! He told me it will be OK now and guess what, he was right! Nothing is wrong with the cable, it’s perfect, it was all about the dust because I carry my phone in my pocket all the time. Yes a little bit pricey but it’s a genuine Apple product, what were you expecting? If you have issues with this cable, clean up your iPhone's/iPad's lightning port please.

    Faultless product

    • Written by Richard S from Ware

I was a little concerned by the negative reviews, however I can confirm that as of today this product functions without fault on my iPad Pro 12.9” (iOS 11.4.1), and my iPhone X (iOS 12). The products immediately jumps to life, and gives you a blue bar for a few seconds to remind you that the screen is being mirrored on an external display.

I was also pleased to find that when you play videos, or show photos from the Photos app, the media fills the entire display of the external display which is great for watching videos from apps such as Plex. Other apps like Netflix / On demand TV apps don’t play due to licensing reasons.

    Amazing bit of kit

When you buy an Apple product, it works. Buy a cheap one off eBay and it wont. SIMPLE. Quality comes at a price and this is seriously the best accessory available. 5 Stars from me.

Let's me stream to my big screen!

    • Written by Connie B from Fisherville

I purchased this adapter a few years ago and it works great for streaming from Netflix, YouTube, and other services on my phone to my TV. It is pricey but with my BingeOn phone service it's far more reasonable than paying for cable TV.

    Absolutely Worth It!

    • Written by Bayleigh K from Loxahatchee

I originally purchased this because I use my iPad for any of my in class college coursework in lieu of a laptop. This was purchased only to adapt my iPad to be able to display projects and powerpoint for in class presentations, any capabilities beyond that were a bonus for me. Not only does it do that perfectly, I have not seen any lag issues with playing video from my iPad either. I would recommend those giving this low reviews because it stopped working to take advantage of its one year warrantee and exchange it for a new product.

    Awesome adapter

    • Written by April W from Lawton

I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. I bought one of these it works perfectly. I’ve tried it with different apps and just playing around. I mainly bought it so I can watch WWE pay per views on my tv instead of the tablet. Easier for my kids and I to watch it together. Make sure you are using a charging cord too. So glad I ignored all the bad reviews

    Works great after IOS11.2.6 re-install

    • Written by Mike S from Lethbridge

When I upgraded my Iphone 5s , I got a new Iphone 8 with a new IOS. My old apple adapters didn't work.
After calling tech support, we wiped the OS and re-installed it with ITunes instead of upgrading via wireless download.
After that, the 4 old lightning to HDMI and lightning to VGA adapters worked great. The adapters have been used heavily for 4 years with no problems.
The problems I encountered were not the adapters , but software problems on the phone that needed to be fixed.
I am very glad about this since the adapters are way too expensive for what they are.

Works GREAT after reading the online instructions

    • Written by Stanley J L from Diamond

Thought it was defective or junk the first time I tried it from my iPhone SE to TV. Only blank screen.
Searched online and saw lots of negative comments but also positive, looked to the apple site for using the AV adaptors. Once I turned off the TV and then turned it on again, everything on the iPhone was mirrored!!!!! Photos, Movies, and just plain anything on the screen. There are a couple of other suggestions on the site also.

Works perfectly with iOS 11 and Netflix

    • Written by Patrick A from Olney

I have no idea why all the bad reviews are here, I got the adapter today and after trying out a second HDMI cable it worked perfectly. I just had to restart the Netflix app and I saw the picture. The first cable was working too, the quality was just not so good because of the poor quality of the cable itself. Picture and Audio (tested up to 1080p) is working smoothly and perfect. I've also tested the charging feature and it worked too.

not sure why the low rating

    • Written by Steve S from Raleigh

I was hesitant to buy this product based on all the bad reviews.

Bought it to play Beasts of Balance on my iPhone SE and displayed on my 60 inch TV via HDMI.

Have had no problems. Looks great.

Now, it's only been a few hours. Perhaps it will crap-out. If things change, I'll post another review.

    Love this adapter

    • Written by Christopher V from Toronto

I see that other people have had issues with this but I never have. It travels with me on every vacation or trip I go on and I use it play movies from my iPhone right out to the resort TV on rainy days or late at night.

I plug this in with an HDMI cable and it just works and duplicates my phone screen to the TV. for me it is a simple solution to watch what I want.

    Make sure you have power!

    • Written by RICHARD B from Bloomfield Hills

At first, couldn't get it to work. iPhone, iPad. But then I remembered that there is a power cord slot for the adapter. Plug that in (make sure it is 10W or 12W for iPads, 5W is fine for iPhone). Then it should let you mirror, show videos, etc. Guess Apple didn't want you to run out of juice while playing a video.

    Product is good but

    • Written by Ronald R from Pittsburgh

My Lightning to HDMI adapter doesn’t work since Apple upgraded my iPad to IOS 11. Why would Apple do something like that? UNBELIEVABLE!
And I can see from the other posts “NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.”
It’s up to Apple to fix it.
