iPad & iPhone doesn't recognized the device to import from SD card

It worked OK when importing pics from my SD Card to iPad or iPhone with some exceptions. I recently updated the software to 10.3.2 and now doesn't work and/or recognize the device. Please fix. I'm not investing on another device - it's already expensive.

Only moves files on iPad, not off??

Couldn't be more disappointed. I have a 12 mp camer on my iPad and use it to photo items I sell online. I had to manually download them (over 5,000 items) to my mac, then to sd card because it will only import photos not export? Why wouldn't this item just create a new folder that you can move items in and out of? Ridiculous that it only imports. Disappointed in apple for an such an incompetent product.

No longer works, can't supply enough power (software?)

This product should be recalled or a trade-in program should exist... it certainly should no longer be sold as it does not work!

Man, I miss Steve Jobs. He would never have let this one out the door. Why anyone would go through the trouble and expense of creating a device such as this and make it unidirectional to meet such a narrow purpose is absolutely beyond me. Almost every Apple user I know is looking for ways to get their images and files from the iphone to other devices, after all that is what makes devices useful since not everyone lives in an apple world. I've never even heard of the use case for transferring photos to their phone, that is easily done in a multitude of ways. This device solves a problem that has already been solved 100 different ways and ignores the glaring problem that few manufacturers have even recognized. To say I was disappointed with this product is the understatement of the century.

    Stopped working

Since the latest update my Apple SDcard reader no longer works. When will this be fixed as I use this feature regularly?

    Stopped Working after iPad Update

This Apple device worked great for 9-10 months allowing me to transfer photos from my trail cams SD cards to my iPad. After recent software update I started getting poor and sporatic service from it. Most of time won't recognize SD cards at all. When it does, it stops working mid-stream transfer and I get a pop up saying device is not compatible with the iPad. When will Apple fix the problem they just created with their latest update? See that others are having same problem. Give it 4 stars when it worked, but gets 1 star now (only because I hope it will return to service once Apple gets on the stick and fixes it).

    Stopped working after recent update

The device worked well enough at importing images from my SD to IPad Photos, until my most recent update. Now my IPad no longer "supports this device"? I have no way to access my photos.

    It does what it claims

The product allows one to upload pictures from the SD card to the phone.

Had bought it for my mother about 3 to 4 yrs ago. Now that my mom is blessing our family from the heavens above, i had decided to use this product.

Unfortunately, this product does not let you down load pictures from the phone into the SD card

    Doesn't Work - Stay Away

My MP4 video files are in a DCIM folder and import insists there are no files. Very disappointing :(

Apple does not let iPhone/iOS "see" certain file types. I can understand not being able to play certain types of files. But I just want to move a file from an SD card onto the cloud or phone so that I can transfer it to my Mac later. Support barely understands this accessory. It took a lot of convincing to get them to understand that it isn't a third party accessory.

seeing and moving non supported file types shouldn't be such a big deal.

Does not work with drone pictures/video

We purchased this to view Hubsan drone footage without hauling the laptop computer around. Because the files are not saved in a DCIM folder, this Apple product does not work and is useless. We are returning it.

Works great - in one direction only

Have to be very clear on what this adapter is for, transferring files from your SD card to the iPhone or iPad, not the other way around. Lets say you want to transfer from your phone to the SD card, not going to happen on this adapter. Otherwise works as expected.

So excited about this apple product!! it does exactly what it says it will! I am not sure why it hasn't gotten the best reviews. Very simple!

    Good product

First time i am using this product, i got some issue when my iphone cannot read my SD card. But in other time i used another SD card it works flawlessly. I can see my photo from thumbnail, and then i can choose which photo to import.
I think it depends on your SD card read and how many photo inside your SD card. My first SD card has 12.9GB photo inside and the second SD only has 750Mb photo with 48mb/s read capability. Maybe it can help. With iphone 6splus, iOS 10.1.

Bought this product because it can support Iphone, After use it, I basically got frustrated everytime I use.

1: it cannot preview the photos for me to select which I want to transfer. All u can see are small thumb nail size photos, select by guessing.

2: There is no easy multi selection like Iphone / ipad gallery, meaning if U have to select 300 photos into your phone or ipad, u have to tap each photo to select, to tap 300 times.

3: programe by defalt would like u to import all photos from SD card, NO WAY! Nobody want to import few thousand photos into iphone or Ipad.

4: program by defult would like you delete those photos that U imported from ur SD card. NO WAY! Apple, Dont try to be smart!

the most frustrating is the first two points, until it has preview function, until it has easy multi select, it is a failure product now!

Left the store and it didn't work

purchased a new iphone today and this along with it. was instructed by the employee that it would work and when I got home and tried it nothing happened. I spoke with apple support online and they at first told me it's not compatible with an iPhone. I had to read them the description online to show it says it should work. all they told me to do was bring it back and make them test it in store or return it. unhappy with my overall experience.

It works on my iPhone 6S Plus running iOS 10.2

Ok so I was worried at first but it is compatible with my gear. I shoot with a DSLR (Nikon D7000) and wanted to edit straight on my phone. When you open your photo app there should be a selection for "Import" next to your "Photos", "Memories" and "Album". It reads my SanDisk Extreme Pro card and my Samsung Evo micro sd card with the adapter. Overall I'm glad I have this so no need to carry a laptop. I gave it four stars because when you import you only get a preview of your images and video in a thumbnail instead of a full screen.

    Great for drone pilots

I enjoy being able to review my aerial video's right after the flight on my I-pad or I-phone. Previously, I had to get back to the desktop at home. I have a P3 Pro and use the I-Pad Mini2, just can't say enough about this reader, works great.

    It doesn't work

It was bought to transfer photos and videos to iPad for further processing or review. It literally worked once for the first time and died. Now it is not recognised on any of compatible iPad/iPhones and I tried everything possible to make it work. Reformatting the SD card, on computer, on camera, putting in, removing waiting 30secs like they recommend and insert again, restarting iDevice ... nothing. It simply died for no reason. No physical damage what so ever no scratch or even banding, preserved perfectly. No SD card problem either. Same SD card works on computer, tried different card, nothing helps. I did not buy Apple products to experience such problems. Even when it worked the first time it was super slow and no ability view big previews before importing. This is so poor performance and it makes this unreliable device actually useless peace of plastic. What has happened with Apple values ... very sad and disappointed.
