Best in Speaker Availible in Category

Had previously used the Bose Sound Link mini before purchasing this, and like everyone before shelling out almost £190 wanted to make sure I was getting the best speaker availible. Opted for the Beats Pill+ and it is fair to say I was extremely pleased! To anyone struggling to decide between the 2 products, I encourage you to try out the Beats Pill+ as the sound is fantastic! Very clear and extraordinarily loud for a speaker of it's size.

    The Best Bluetooth Speaker

I highly recommend buying this product. It's sounds amazing. It's unbelievable how much sound comes out of such a small speaker. It looks really really good. It is the perfect size. I haven't had any issues with this product. I really love this product.

    Overpriced eye candy

After searching the web and comparing different model it came down to a couple of choices, Beats pill 2.0 or Bose. I went with the Beats and sorry i did so. Arrived with all its packaging intact, Plugged it in and set-up / pairing was a breeze thats where the good feeling ended. It will not take a charge or hold one for that matter. After looking around the web i found numerous complaints over the same issue, with various remedies, wrapping the cord around it, leaning it a certain way, ect. Really? a new piece of equipment and you have to stand on your head to get it to work properly, no thanks, back it went. Dr. Dre can take his own Pill, and not orally.

Super Loud, filled room and perfect Bass and Mids....JUST AMAZING experienc

I am loving this portable device, rich sound, filled room experience with well balanced sound (Bass, Mids, Treble). I think I ll buy the 2nd speaker also to experience the Left Right stereo sound. Its already a stereo but a wide stereo sound in a bigger room needs 2nd speaker will be a great experience.

But I am amazed with the portable wire-free device is a very convenient device Apple has made, no wires cant believe it. No compromise on sound.

    Go for it.

    Great speaker!

I have had 2 other bluetooth speakers. A JBL Flip, and a Bose Soundlink Mini 1. Both were good speakers, (JBL was decent but not rich enough sound. Bose was a little to much bass) but this Beats Pill + is the best I've had so far.

Before you do anything go to your music setting on your device and play around with the equalizer settings. For me using the "Loudness" setting on my iPhone produced the best sound.

Keep in mind that no matter what speaker you get, not all songs are going to sound great. You may be playing 1 song that sounds rich and clear, then the next will not. It's not the speaker, it's just how the song was mixed.

My only nit pick is that the sleeve that comes with the speaker is basically worthless. It would've been nice to have some type of padded case come with it.

    Outstanding

Many have already commented on the build and look of the speaker so I do not need to repeat. It is beautiful and well made, as you would expect from Apple.

I also found the sound quality outstanding for its size. There is a clarity to the sound that is hard to describe. This clarity extends to the base, which is strong and "natural." I read somewhere that the previous Beats have boosted base to give a booming effect which some people here mistaken it as "good" and "strong" base. It is not, it distorts the base so everything, including human voice, all has an artificial baritone quality to it.

The best feature of the speaker is how well and easy it connects to your devices. Once paired, all you have to do is to turn on the speaker and it will be automatically connected to your device. Most of the other bluetooth devices or adapters often require you to turn it on and then connect in two separate steps. This small thing makes using the speaker so much easier and enjoyable. Would be it even better to give us the option to leave the speaker in the stand-by mode so we don't even need to physically turn it on each time?

I bought this with the $60 Apple music promotion, and even without it I still think it is a great product for your Apple devices.

    Great sounding speaker!

I recently purchased this product with the intention of returning it if I wasn't satisfied. I found the reviews were all over the place. Overall, I was very impressed with the sound and build quality. I was expecting a bass focused product, and found it to have a very balanced sound. Drums and acoustic guitar sound amazing and there's no degradation of sound at higher volumes. I don't like Bluetooth connections and wish that the speaker acted more like an AirPlay devices, but I really appreciate the dj mode. I really like that this speaker is built with the intention of software updates and would warmly welcome improvements on AirPlay, the addition of an equalizer, and an auto on feature when connected to 3.5mm audio and plugged in. Overall, I was surprised with the speakers performance and would recommend the purchase.

    Beats pill +

not satified i feel like you guys just changed the model style it sounds exactly like the 2.0 beats pill . & i actually like the 2.0 better because it came with a aux cable and and charging cable and a alright case and USB Adater to plug that you can actually adjust . now on the beats pill+ everything is simple the power adapter is not adjustable, same sound as the 2.0 pill 1 charging cheap material cable & a cloth simple bag case . Very Disapointed hopefully in the future you guys can make something better you guys are making Dr Dre reputation look bad .

    Disappointed!!!

I previously owned the Pill XL and it was amazing! I miss it so much now, if I could get it back I would. So I waited to see what they would come up with, before buying another brand. The bass is terrible, but acoustics is very nice. I can't have a speaker with out good bass. I will be returning this to Apple. It definitely wasn't worth $229 more like $179

    Super Bluetooth Speaker

Great sound and excellent build quality. I have tried several wireless speakers, and this is my favorite. Surprisingly excellent sound quality for its size. I prefer the Beats Pill + to my Bose SoundLink II or Minirig. It also looks great.

    Beats Pill Minus

This is an upgrade from Beats Pill 2.0, but only the volume. It still lacks the bass that the original Bose Sound Link Mini produces. Beats is for kids.

I'm returning mine and getting the Bose Sound Link Mini 2. Better sound with all music, better bass. Definitely more for the Grown and Sexy.

Exactly what I was looking for!

    + Sounds amazing.
+ Small size (about an iPhone and a half in length).
+ Well made. Has heft to it, doesn't feel flimsy.
+ Charges through lightning cable. A plus if you're like me and already have a few chargers laying around the house from your other iOS devices.
    + Looks good.

    - Kinda pricey. You can do research and maybe find one that sounds as good for cheaper. However, the Pill+ sounds good, looks good, and is well made; making it worth the money IMHO.

    Really Unsatisfied

I owned the beats pill XL before the recall and I was really excited to see that their was a new model coming out. But when I received the new model, I was so unhappy with the sound quality it dosent pack a punch like the previous model. The acoustics were great but i was able to host a party with the older model and now you can't hear it in a crowded room.

    Crisp, clean and loud

I've been using the Bose Sounlink Mini II for a few months now with no complaints but I wanted something with a little more bass for the size. Once I found the Beats Pill+ was available with a 2-way crossover and larger size, I couldn't wait to try it out. It's just slightly larger than the Bose, looks better, offers better battery life and the ability to charge your phone. I primarily use my speaker in a medium sized room at low to moderate volume. The Pill+ offers outstanding clarity due to the separate drivers and crossover and it stays clear even at louder volumes. The Bose is clear but as the volume increases, the Pill+ keeps things sharper. The downside is that it does not offer the smooth and natural sounding bass of the Bose especially at lower volumes so it still sounds like a small speaker although it is very crisp and clear. The Pill+ does its job best at moderate to loud volume and this thing can get loud. Unfortunately, it isn't the best speaker for my listening preference so it will be returned but that doesn't mean it isn't good.

    Very Good Speaker!

The Beats Pill+ is kind of amazing. I moved recently and decided to not bring along my trusty Bose computer speakers due to the cumbersome nature of their size and power brick. After being speaker-less for a while I decided to get this. At first I was unconvinced that its size would produce the kind of sound that I wanted, but after a couple days I was absolutely sure this fulfilled my needs. I'm kind of an audio freak and also have a several thousand dollar stereo system. So I know what good sound is. Does this live up to a high end stereo? Of course not. But people - for something the size of a Subway sandwich, I'm absolutely blown away at the quality of this. I keep wondering where the bass is coming from! But don't get me wrong - this isn't just an overpriced subwoofer... the Pill+'s mid and highs are top notch too. I literally can't get over that the sound is coming from this little thing!

The design definitely harkens to Apple design - it's simple, elegant, and understated. I found the original and 2.0 version of the Pill to be garish, and this redesign just puts it to shame. Starting with the simple control buttons (there's power, volume up, volume down, and the 'b' logo) they're coated in a nice, thick, yet responsive rubber material. The have good click and good travel and I never found myself wondering where the buttons were or if I had pressed them. This Pill+ is heavy too! It feels solid and I have no fears that it will easily be damaged. In fact this may damage anything it comes in contact with.

The back features a two-stage port cover. The very tip of the cover can be undone to expose only the Lightning Port for charging/keeping plugged in. The cover can also be completely moved to the side to show a USB port for plugging in a cable to charge electronics on the go and a 3.5mm jack. It's a really cool design that doesn't require you to have a cover hanging off for charging.

My only concern is an early adopter concern: I hope they don't come out with a Space Gray version, otherwise my OCD may make me upgrade. But this black is hella good looking all things considered and probably more svelte than a pseudo silver object... but who knows.

At first I was concerned that they're planning a new Pill+ XL, and I'll feel bad I got this, but honestly, I doubt I'm ever going to need more bluetooth/portable power than what this pumps out. I have a stereo system for that. This thing gets LOUD and not at the expense of quality.

The app is well put together as expected from an Apple product, but don't expect to use it often. It's usefulness really comes into play if you have two, or you're listening to music with a friend. With two Pills you can link them to either get louder sound, or operate as L-R stereo. With a friend you can enter 'DJ Mode' which allows you to take turns playing music from your respective phones/sources.

This shines with Apple products and just instantly works... sometimes bluetooth devices can be hit or miss with operation, but the Beats Pill+ is identified in the notification center with the Beats symbol and battery life and it "just works" when you press buttons and instantly finds your device and is ready to play in a matter of seconds.

You pay a small premium for the Beats/Apple brand, but other speakers are priced at around $200 (such as highly regarded Bose bluetooth speaker) and I found this product fit my life better than the others.

WOW JUST WOW!! WATCH OUT BOSE!! APPLE IS COMING FOR YOU.

From the first song I played after I unboxed this thing I was blown away. This speaker is extremely loud especially for its size. I songs with bass it songs great but doesn't over power like some past beats products. On rock and other types it's crisp and clear. I would easily say this is the best mid size Bluetooth portable speaker. I had a UE boom and I thought that thing was nice when I first got it. But the pill+ blows that out of the water by a lot. Looks like Apple is making beats awesome for all types of music to be played. Also making beats classier with their design. Keep it up Apple you have converted a once skeptic of beats to a huge fan. I'm not surprised as I knew apple would put there name on something that wasn't best in class. WATCH OUT BOSE YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!!
