    Love the product but...

Overall this is a great Apple product. The only downside is the removable wing tips are too easy to remove so Ive already lost 3 of the 4 and Ive only owned the product for a month now. The only way to have them replaced is by contacting Apple to order them. I feel they should be available through the Apple store, but it would be much better if they weren’t removable. I don’t really see the point.

Good but not worth the money

The sound is great, but I’m not comfortable with the eartips sizes ! And we all know we buy beats products for the amount of the BASS they produced in their products, but with the BeatsX the bass level feels to me is so neutral !

    Awesome

I bought my beats X at an airport just before an international flight. Setting up was a breeze and I was already using it within 10 minutes of opening the box. I like the way it seats around the neck with absolutely no feeling of weight or friction on the skin, sound quality is awesome!!! One thing I wish was included in the box is a lightning to 3.5mm cable, I really wished I could plug my beats X in while watching movies in the aircraft. The magnet buds are awesome too, it gives me a bit of assurance my earphones are secure around my neck, but I would really like that the magnet action can put the beats X to sleep and conserve some battery power. Overall, I love the beats X and I’m happy I own one. By the way, it has great range, even with multiple walls between me and my iPhone.

    AWESOME!!!!

I LOVE THEM! Beats toned down the bass to be just perfect where it’s punchy at low volume and really satisfying at high volume. Lows, Mids, Highs are AMAZING. Battery life is pretty good and they charge fast (15 minutes). The only thing I would have to complain about is quality control. My first pair lasted me 6 months until they started flashing colors. Took them to apple and it took them A WEEK to just tell me that they speaker is punctured and thats why the battery light was flashing. After another 3 days i got a new pair and they have since been good.

    Design flaws

When I first got the neck buds I was super impressed. The pairing was a breeze. Just hold it by one of your Apple products and it gets paired with all of them. Amazing. The sound quality was pretty good, and I liked the neck band. However, after 3 months I took off the rubber earpiece to clean them and a gentle wipe broke the mesh that protects the electronics from your earwax. Sent it in for repair and they claimed it was my fault and wanted $79 to repair the little fabric disc. First of all, I would expect a better design from Apple--- my $10 Skullcandy buds have metal meshes that prevent this from happening. On top of that, they wanted to charge through the roof to fix something that should have been covered under warranty. Stay away from Beats. I have a pair of Bose Soundsport buds now that I would highly recommend to get instead.

    Good not Amazing

I had higher expectations for these earphones especially since they are supposed to be the best of both worlds after Apple acquired Beats. I'm a Bose noise-cancelling enthusiast, but this was my second pair of Beats headphones (the first being traditional over the ear). I was attracted to the size, weight, neck comfort and battery life of these headphones, but there is a significant opportunity in audio quality. I feel like these are basic earphones for audio quality packaged into a slick presentation and branding to sell for $150. The difference in audio quality between my other Bose headphones (QC25 and QC30) is large, and even greater when I compared in-store with similar Klipsch and Sennheiser products. I chose the Beats based on their lower price and small size/foldability, but have been more disappointed than I thought I would be with their audio quality.

    Room for Improvement

I read some of the reviews before purchase which put me off a little. I'm tired of trying to untangle earphones, so I couldn't wait to get a wireless pair. I didn't really use my last earphones that much for music unlike these new beats x, which I have been trying out all day. Ok my verdict, if you put them in the right way (mic on the left) they fit quite well and the sound is acceptable, but for $200 AUD I would expect better. I would also think it should be an option on all new iPhones. The iPhoneX and 8 are made for wireless. Why put a cheap pair with an adapter in the box? I would rather a pair of wireless as standard. It's great you can walk around and listen to music without your phone and take calls. I walked to the other side of my house and they still worked fine! You can skip tracks by pressing the volume up/down button in the middle twice. You also can adjust the equaliser in the iPhone Music settings to suit. The sound is better if they fit snug. It's actually not as bad as some of those 1 star reviews claim. But definitely room for improvement. They do fit nicely around my neck. I also like the magnet that hold's them together. They also look better than the AirPods, which really remind me of two Oral B toothbrushes. I always have a chuckle when I see someone walking around with them in their ears. The only other point I would like to make is the sound quality may vary depending on the quality of the input sound. I'm just listening to Apple Music on my iPhone. If you had higher quality music on your Mac they may sound better. There is also an equaliser on the iTunes App to adjust to your taste. Lastly, it's great you can use them with all your bluetooth devices with no wires!

Needing repair after only 9 months

I just sent these in for warranty repair after less than 9 months of light use. No water damage, no abuse, nothing. They just won’t turn on or charge. I don’t feel optimistic that I will get them perfectly repaired for free. I purchased the Beats 3 headphones first and they were stolen from a locked locker at school because they were so popular last year. I’m now out almost $400 and still don’t have a working pair of ear buds. For this ridiculous amount of money, I expect a decent product. I have broken only 1 pair of FREE Apple earbuds in 11 years and even those still work most of the time. DO NOT BOTHER! Get something cheaper and higher quality. Very disappointed and I’ve lost a small fortune for nothing.

Flat sound and hurt my ears

I have had to revert back to my Bose wired earbuds as the BeatsX ones connect really well and do a good job of blocking out surrounding sounds - but the sound is very flat with not much bass and equally you end up losing some of the high instrument notes. Very disappointing Xmas present which I will try to return. I would not recommend these if you are looking for top quality sound.

    Name Brand

This product gives the impression of being a premium product when in reality the product is nothing but a name brand set of earphones which fails to deliver the good, wholesome, deep sound that the commercials and promos seem to portray. The only reason why people buy this product is that it is endorsed by a rapper who slapped his name on a third party product to make a ton of money. The tinny sound makes one regret buying them altogether, easily any Bose product tops this brand. The product is not worth the money or the work to get the money.

Shorting after second use, Poor quality

By the second time I used this earphone, the sound kept cutting and randomly during songs it would speed up and then stick. Not to mention the sound quality is not anywhere worth the price. Do better Beats.

BeatsX Do Not Work in Cold Weather

If you have any intentions of using Beats X earphones outside in the cold temperatures then forget about these as an option as they do not function in the cold weather. There is NO mention by the manufacturer in the product description or nearly all reviews that they do not function below a specific temperature. A lot of money for useless earphones.

    Excellent Product

I am very picky with headphones and struggle with the "one size fits most" style. These headphones come with three additional ear pieces, but the ones preinstalled are very comfortable. The sound quality is amazing and I was very impressed that there is no bluetooth lag, which is surprisingly common with bluetooth headphones. I can watch YouTube and Netflix without any problems. Pairing with all my devices is extremely easy. My iPhone picked it up as soon as I hit the power button, and it was automatically paired with my iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac. They stay in my ears very well and the wingtips add extra stability. The only negative issue that I can think of is the included carrying case. I was expecting a zipper fabric pouch, but it is actually silicon and the cables tend to stick out a little. Other than that, it is a very good product and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for comfortable wireless earbuds with great battery life.

    Do not buy.

I've always had Apple products––It's all I buy. With that being said, I would strongly suggest looking at different bluetooth headphones. Sadly, Apple has some major quality assurance issues with this product. I use them on my commute home and I've had issues with two pairs. Apple replaced the first pair, and the ones they gave me stopped working shortly after. It's a shame that there isn't any additional warranty on this product. If they stopped working with the little I put them thru, I couldn't imagine these headphones lasting very long especially if you work out.

Beats x - Out of the box fail - won't power on...

Purchased today, unboxed at home and the earphones will not even power on. Charged for well over half an hour, light was solid white, would not power on. Attempted reset per the online help multiple times, LED flashed red 4 times, tried to power on again, but did not change anything. Attempted to download Beats Updater - page never finishes loading. After seeing all the other recent reviews while trying to research this issue, it is clear that this was not an isolated issue. I'll be returning these tomorrow.

    Very disappointed

These do not sound like a beats product. I've had 2 pairs of urbeats and still own over ear mxr beats, and the bass on the beatsx is minimal, very disappointing. I watched some reviews on YouTube, as I was questioning if mine where faulty, but found this reduced bass is a feature of this product. I normally research products first before I buy, but these where an impulse buy, and why research a product/company when you already own products from the family and understand there identity & functionality. Also battery life is not the 8 hrs advertised, plus there is no warning it's running low. Charge cable too short and carry case is too small for the headphones. The leather one that came with the urbeats is much better, and I just use that instead. Tried to take them back, but because they are an inear product, wouldn't take them. You haven't lost a customer, but I'll do my research on my next purchase.
