    not ready

If this is Apple's answer to the wireless revolution I am going to keep my iPhone 6+ and wired ear buds. Really.

First the good. Yes, they pair easily. Hold it next to your iPhone, turn it on, and voila. Paired. Doesn't seem to work while actually wearing them though. Pretty easy with my Mac and iPad too. Hence they got a star for that. fast charging works, second star.

And thats about it for the good, and I REALLY wanted to like them, REALLY worked hard to understand them, but after a certain point of yet another dropped call, another 2 minutes trying to get them to actually work with my phone (after pairing) and then giving up to put the phone on speaker, after another fumbled Skype connection, at some point you realize its not you, its them.

To get them to fit, I had to use the extra ear pieces (and ear buds work fine for me). The instructions are not clear. The on off button is difficult (need to use my fingernail) and provides zero tactile feedback. They don't have any power management when out of ear. The sound really is not that great. but I didn't expect much, blue tooth is blue tooth. The range is not that much better than a cheap BT ear piece. People complain about the long wires, well yes they are a pain, but still not long enough to get to the controls comfortably which you have to use because if you touch your phone the phone forgets you have headphones and uses its own speakers. battery usage is not easy to find. Did I mention it routinely drops connection with my phone on calls, even if my phone is literally 2 feet away. Never drops on music. strange.

I wanted to like them, but now I want to return them.

    Returning it!

Read many reviews about this product, every where it was mentioned this one has excellent and strong bass but sadly wanna say it has no bass at all... tried all equalizer settings on my 7 Plus but didn't help at all. Secondly, these do not come with the sweat / water resistance... am sure music lovers will be disappointed.

    Sound Quality

I'm extremely disappointed with the sound quality of these headphones. My wired standard earbuds have better sound quality than these do. The battery life is adequate to meet my needs, and the design is amazing. I loved the way the earbuds fit in my ear and blocked out some of the loud NYC sounds. I'll be forced to return these because I don't see why I should spend this much money for a lack luster sound quality.

    Great earbuds

Great earbuds. They are a tad bit on the expensive side, but you cannot beat the Apple ecosystem. Everything works seamlessly and as it should. Of course the sound quality is paramount and the beats X deliver. Especially when playing around with the EQ, these ear buds hit all the ranges my ear can discern. I was a bit skeptical of the range but I am glad to say I was impressed. The cable itself is really comfortable, and sometimes I forget they even have a cable. I was able to play a little low-intensity basketball with them and they never fell out and maybe needed some readjustment once, showing they are great headphones for anyone on the go.

    Exceeds expectations so far

I'm really enjoying these earphones so far. I like how easy it is to pair them to whatever device I'm using, and switching between them is nearly effortless. The sound quality is great to me, and I like that the rubber tips seal out background noise. They fit very comfortably, and the cord doesn't bother me like I thought it would. My only complaint is the case they come with.

    Quite happy - good value

I have been waiting for the Beats X for a while. I held off buying BT earbuds in anticipation. I'm quite happy. The connection process is flawless and the fact that it's cross-device is great! They are now connected to my Mac & MacBook as well as my iPhone, slick! The Bass isn't killer like some other Beats products but I wear glasses & so the PowerBeats weren't a good option for me & I don't need killer bass...if I'm feeling like a little bump, I can also adjust the EQ on my phone. The variety of accessories that come with the X is good and I found what I needed. The case....a bit cheesy & on the cheap side but not a deal breaker. Fast fuel is epic and the overall comfort is very good.

Overall, worth the money & wait. I would buy them again.

Great fit. Great Sound. Easy Connection to iPhone 7.

Great fit. Great Sound. Easy Connection to iPhone 7. Only issue is the design of the storage pouch that comes with the BeatsX. Once placed in the case, the power button is all-too-easy to press and randomly turn on the earphones. To avoid this issue, be attentive to how you pack the BeatsX Earphones away.

    Love!

I have been shopping for a pair of bluetooth earphones for a couple of years now and, until now, I have haven’t found the pair for me. These have everything I wanted: mindless setup, flawless connectivity, a stylish minimalism, great battery life, competitive price, excellent sound, and great bass response. I also like the fact that, when they aren’t in your ears, you can wear them around you neck. With earphones like these, Apple is right to push people in the direction of wireless connectivity. The freedom that they give you is very liberating!

    Nicely Built; Middling Sound Quality

The build quality for these are quite nice and lightning based headphones are really handy for those with all other Apple devices. However, the sound quality of these headphones aren't great, even for Bluetooth headphones. The sound is very treble-based, with little bass or depth. Bose Soundsport Wireless headphones have much better sound quality at the same price point.

    Great!

Get Boom 2 on Mac to boost the sound and these will Rock even more!
Even without the boost they sound really great.

    Great wireless headphones!

Great quality pair of headphones. To be expected from Beats and Apple now. Packaging is great, materials feel very nice. Sound quality is pretty good. I wouldn't say they are the best IEM's but there good for the price point. Bass is there but not bass heavy as the urbeats.

As mentioned by others here, they aren't 100% perfect. There close! Pairing is simple, comfort is great (for my ears anyways) and theres much customizability available. I love that they are lightening cable as I hated micro usb and having to carry around different cables. The case they come with could be better....

    Wireless, W1, and Improved Sound

It's been a while since I've tried Beats earphones. My first foray was with their original offering, and I wasn't overly impressed...a very muddy sound with an overemphasis on bass and flat highs. I'm not claiming that the BeatsX is a revelation, but they do sound significantly better, to a level that I'm happy with. They won't replace my in ear monitors, but for work and recreation, they rock! The W1 chip does a fine job and listening time is awesome. I never really considered the convenience of wireless, but heck, I don't know if I could ever go back now. There are some usability issues, sticky power button, cable not as pliable as I'd want so it bends in awkward angles, ear tips still junk silicone (I replaced mine with Comply memory foam). However, even with these minor issues I'd rate these earphones a 5★.

    Exceeded expectations

I'm very impressed with these. Having owned many Sennheiser units over the decades (I still use some), I had some trepidation about the BeatsX based on Beats general reputation for being very bass heavy (heavier than the momentum 2 in-ears), but decided to give them a go as I was getting tired of the adaptor with the iPhone7.

    I'm glad I did.

The BeatsX have a remarkably balanced sound. They start off out of the box with a lot of top end brightness - and it's a little harsh on some music. However, over a week or so of use this calms down, and what you're left with is a really nice sound that has plenty of detail. And don't get me wrong, when you want bass it's there.

Battery life is good, fit is good, W1 works (I've never had a problem with bluetooth pairing, so not a plus point for me), bluetooth works VERY well where others have had issues (like Kings Cross station in London at rush hour).

    A genuinely good product

Mic Is Not Sound Cancelling. Amazing Sound.

These have amazing sound, very well suited for music tasks and use in the gym. The mic does not have any sound cancellation and the other person can hear all sorts of street noise, bus noise, etc. They had an opportunity to build the best bluetooth headset, but they missed the mark.

    Very Happy

Arrived in middle of delivery window.
Unboxed - wow - super light, very easy to connect - awesome sound. Felt like Birdy and Adele were giving my ears their own private concert! : )
    Love the magnetic earbuds

    Fantastic!

These are truly wonderful. Super easy to setup and absolutely can't imagine why I would want wireless headphones without a lightning-based charging! They are slightly less bass heavy than the PowerBeats 3 I traded in for these, but clearly shines in the mid with crisp true vocals. Perfect fit for my ears with the wingtips.

Excellent range, comfort and great sound.

I absolutely love these. They're light and comfortable to wear, offering great isolation and sound with a high quality streaming source. The connectivity range is great, I can walk around my house and there's no stutter or lag. Battery life is good and the lightning port is a huge convenience if you're only around iPhones.

Comfortable, good noise isolation, good sound - what happens when it rains

I've used a lot of BT headphones and wanted some with noise isolation. These fit well into the ear and stay put without the extra wings. Couldn't be happier with that. I took off a star because the lightning charging port is completely exposed, i.e., it has no cover. I'm worried these will be ruined if I wear them in the rain. Anyone know if they've made that port waterproof like they did on the iPhone 7? This could be a deal-breaker.
