Ok so I bought these ear phones in December and just after 4 months they stop working randomly so I went to the nearest apple shop and they did get me another pair and they have not broken since but for what they are they are extremely over priced.

    They’re okay I guess

    • Written by Paige D from Mansfield

Before I get into actually stating the problem with these, I’d like to say something positive about these. Contrary to all the reviews I’m seeing on the fact that one side stopped working, my earbuds didn’t have this problem until my dog literally pawed at my face and ripped my earbuds out of my phone. I’m not gonna lie, I’m extremely rough with earbuds and I break them within weeks, but these are the only ones that lasted me through months. The sound quality is great, and it’s great for ignoring people. The problem I have with these is the fact that they DO break eventually, but at least I won’t have to buy new ones for a while.

    Great Style... but

    • Written by Sophia J from Leesburg

When I got iPhone 8 Plus, I was a little disappointed to learn that the iPhone had no actual headphone jack. But, since it came with special EarPods, I thought it was no big deal. I used them many times, and enjoyed them throughout. I had no problem with them at all until, one month after I received them, the right ear bud wasn’t working. I was disappointed and confused, because the exterior looked fine and there was nothing visibly wrong with them. Besides that, the design is good and not too bulky.

i guess it depends on luck

    • Written by Martha D from New Rochelle

i got the iPhone 7 when it first came out, around December and the earpods still work up to today, and its been a bit over 2 years. however, i bought a new phone and the earpods that came with it don't really work anymore, the wire is starting to rip, and its been about a month. so I guess it just depends on whether you're lucky to get good ones or not

i just got this new phone for christmas, just barely a month ago, and i got a new pair of ear buds with it. the quality of music always starts out incredible and perfect for me. however, over time, speakers stop working, which makes no sense to me... i take good care of these and keep them wrapped up and put away. it is getting very annoying buying new ear buds ever other month because the speakers blow..

    Excellent Sound but Flimsy Cord

    • Written by Nicole P from Glacebay

I’m one of those people that like to keep all my products to one brand if the other products I’ve purchased have performed well. After reading the reviews on these EarPods I was undecided to purchase them. On a whim I did. Today was the first day I used them. I was surprised at the sound quality but I was nervous at using them when I noticed how flimsy the cord felt. I’ve been extremely careful with as I am with all my electronic items. I feel like even putting them in my purse for the day could damage them so I’m looking at getting some type of carrying case for them. I’m hoping the $45 spent on them wasn’t a waste.

I did like them but they ended up breaking within 6 or 7 mounts.. I’m seeing reviews of other people’s ones lasting up to 2 years but I don’t know if you should believe them. It’s up to you if you want to buy these but I think AirPods would be better if your looking for longer lasting earphones.

A decent product that could be more durable

    • Written by Jayden F from North Lauderdale

When I first got my EarPods with the iPhone 8 I was surprised with the audio quality. It was loud, clear, and crisp, but that fun lasted about two months when I dropped my phone. It was about a 3-foot drop when it landed directly on the headphone port while they where plugged in. Immediately it stopped working and the lighting connector became loose and eventually, it fell out. As I know it was my fault I feel like the headphones should be more durable than that, one drop and its broken like come on.

    didn't last that long...

    • Written by Erina F from Wexford

I've had my original pair from buying my iPhone for about a year. But, maybe around four months ago (about 8 months old), the entire right earbud along with the volume controller and mic stopped working. I'm relying on my left earbud for sound. I guess it lasted long enough, but I wish it would've lasted wayy longer.

    Just ok

    • Written by Brittany W from Canton

I like the apple earbuds because they fit well in my ear and I like the built in mic. However, they don't last for more than a year and that's ridiculous. Sound quality started to get bad, then the mic stopped working, and now the right earbud doesn't work at all. So just like Apple wants, I know have to buy another pair.

Let’s try this one more time....

    • Written by Katherine V from Macomb

Yeah, my earphones are going on almost 7 months (possibly 8?) old. They’re the original that came with the iPhone X. However, I’m hoping I just had a defect with that pair. The part where the wires meet and go into the single strand completely ripped and now the wires are showing. Basically doing the same thing the charging cable does. Granted, I sleep with my earphones and this is the first pair I’ve used with the charger/headphone splitter (not sure that using that makes a difference), but I’ve never had a pair do this and I’ve tied up my older pairs (the ones with the jack) in horrible knots before. The only reason I’ve ever had to replace them was because of water damage or too much earwax buildup to the point that they couldn’t be cleaned. The sound hasn’t cut out, but the volume coming out of my headphones has been slowly vanishing (I mostly have to turn it up to 10-13 to hear anything now, but I’m thinking this is due to earwax buildup anyway). Gonna buy my first replacement pair now and see how it goes.

Nice sound. Weightless. Comfortable. Battery too short for phone calls

    • Written by Jean-Pierre C from PRINCETON

Happy with it since day one with the major bummer of dropping calls after less than 90 min. A problem during business teleconferences. Other issue is that when the battery is down, if you have not switched the sound on the phone to another target (plugging earbuds for example), as removing one airpod from your ear to reload it will be interpreted as an end of call and the telephone will hang off. Sound is overall quite good for such a light device. Also definitely very expensive. Still happy. You can listen to music while not being from ambient noises (there is no noise cancellation feature/effect at all), and have a normal conversation with it - might look strange but works.

    Kinda disappointed...

    • Written by Melita H from westland

I got these headphones with my new IPhone, and without reason, they broke within 3 months of owning them. However, the sound quality was quite great while they still worked. The right side will no longer provide sound, but the microphone/control thing still works. Now only the left side will produce sound.

Disappointed that my EarPods with the Lightning Connector broke within six months; I take good care of my headphones and hate the fact that Apple forces its customers to purchase either these fragile headphones or the AirPods, which I think are too expensive. The sound quality is decent for both sets, but for 30$ or more, you can easily find headphones with better quality that I can no longer use with the iPhone 7's connector.

THESE headphones are my favourite headphones to use ( I have had my fair share of headphones) and i always come back to these. Recently, I noticed that my beloved microphone and control had stopped working on them. I could no longer skip songs or record my voice close up as i love doing. because im an amazing singer. Later after the control stopped working, they both kept cutting out, (i have only had these for 4 months). Today, I was sitting down, minding my own business when all of a sudden. The. Right. Side. Cut. Out. Needless to say i was very upset. What else was i going to block people out with? I tried to get it to work but no luck. I love these headphones and all i want is some new ones :( R.I.P

Sound is great. It's insane that I can't plug these into a Mac.

    • Written by Kevin H from Los Angeles

The sound is much improved over the old AUX headphone, but my initial delight over sound quality has been tamped down by my daily frustration that I can't use these headphones in any other devices. The products quality is 5 star, but the daily experience is closer to a 1.5. If apple insists that lightning is a connector worth using they should include it in their full family of products (at least.) A new Macbook has USB C ports for days, but I can't use the headphones designed by and provided by Apple in any Mac (or any other device for that matter.)

Earbud stopped working today. Not even 1 year old.

    • Written by Karen S from san Diego

Just like a few others have mentioned, the earbuds are too large were the fall out of my ear a lot. I’m in my 40’s and I would like apple to go back to the old headphone jack as well because I lost my lightning connector and I take public transportation, so I had to go without headphones. Simplicity is better for everyone, I am not a fan of the lightning cable headphone connector. One earbud stopped working today the right one, in fact.
I cleaned them with alcohol and scrubbed them both, and burnt the residue off of the speaker, I followed YouTube videos from other consumers and nothing helped it.

    Alright i guess...

    • Written by Lincoln B from Draper

I got these with my iPhone 7 back in like September, and they worked for a while really well, but back in May, the right one stopped working, and then the left one stopped too in September of that next year. I guess you could say they lasted about a year, but not well. I want to know if its apples fault or my fault for being too rough with them. Considering how well my other apple products are, i would have expected them to last longer. Its not just the EarPods with Lightning connecter, it was also the EarPods using the Headphone jack too. Maybe Apple can make the headphones stronger.
