    Total Waste of $$$

    I've bought 3 pairs of these headphones and they always break. First one side goes - then the other. I've tried to use the old school headphones with the lightning adapter, which is even worse. When the adapter is plugged in - the slightest movement or tweak to the cord - opens up apps, mutes the volume, fast forwards music tracks. I've also purchased 2 different lighting port adapters and have had the same result.

    Why does Apple keep changing the ports and connector cables all the time - other than to generate revenue from morons like me who keep purchasing their junk. I wish that Apple would just stick with something that works and make it a standard.

    Ok so I bought these ear phones in December and just after 4 months they stop working randomly so I went to the nearest apple shop and they did get me another pair and they have not broken since but for what they are they are extremely over priced.

    Extremely Happy With This Item

    Very happy with my earphones! I wasn’t sure to buy this product of apple or not due to the bad reviews, but I’m so glad I didn’t listen to them! And went ahead and bought them :) the sound is perfect, very loud :) and I got them a few days early than expected which was great. I’ll definitely be buying from apple again!

    Was surprised by the way that they posted the item out as this is my first time buying from them :)

    Great but Break

    These are probably the best sounding earphones on the market. However, they will break after a month of being in your pocket. This is my 4th pair this year and I feel ashamed that I keep giving Apple money.

    Don't understand all the negative reviews. I've had had 4 or 5 Apple phones over the years starting with the 4, and have always used the earbuds supplied. I'm now up to the iPhone XR and am using the ones with the lightning connector which came with the phone with no issues whatsoever, so I don't have any complaints at all. The sound quality is great and the functionality is fabulous. I use them 6 days a week when I go for my 1 hour walk, and if I go into the city on the train, I always use them too.

    I have two pairs from EarPods and they last till today. I have them for 2 years since i bought the iphone 7 plus and then i took a second pair of EarPods because i hear the music clearly and very loud. I think that i will, probapbly, buy and another one.I am very satisfied from this product and from all that there are on apple store.

    Excellent sound and good price

    I don’t know why people give the earpods poor ratings, or maybe because they expect too much from apple. I’ve had them since September 2018, they still feel as premium to this day (May 2019). I use these daily and keep them in my pockets. Sometimes i use them when running and they don’t even pop out of my ears. Of course there is room for improvement in sound quality but on design, durability and usability i give them 5 stars. I would recommend anyone to buy the earpods or at least try them out. Trust me, they’re worth the price

    These are horrible...

    I received a pair of these buds with my Iphone 7 purchase. They broke within 5 months. I purchased another pair at my local Verizon store and they broke within 3 months. The right side stops working then both sides stopped. No sound at all. I rebooted my phone several times, plugged and unplugged the buds several times but nothing. I tried to get a free replacement from Verizon and they just sent me on my way. Not sure what to do next but visit the Apple store and fight with them to get a replacement. I will reconsider another type of phone. The iPhone is just too much trouble.

    I’ve gone through many pairs of these headphones and they never last more than a couple months, now I’m stuck with the old apple headphones and those are lasting longer than these have ever lasted

    Faulty

    Have bought 4 pairs in the past 6 months.. one always ends up going out and no matter what is done, the sound never comes back. For $30 you’d expect these things to last longer than a month or 2.. absolutely unacceptable!

    Waste of money. Not worth $30 for easily broken earpods

    I have had these earpods 3 times in a row in the past year; 1 given to me with purchase and the other 2 bought by me. it lasted for a given amount of 2-4 months at most. I am extremely disappointed at how Apple sells these at such an expensive price to only be such poor quality (except the audio) and it’s durability. I will definitely be purchasing my EarPods of a different brand elsewhere.

    Earphones

    I'm seriously going to stop purchasing these. They last a few months then they just stop working. The volume is turned all the way up and I can barely hear anything. Same thing happened with the Air-pods. Going to start looking elsewhere. Apple needs to get it together when comes to their headphones.

    I was nearly not going to bother with a new pair, reading all these 1 star reviews, but then I checked in with John Lewis. You guys writing horrid reviews are either very heavy handed with these headphones, as I have had mine for over year with none of the issues you have been describing, or you are just miserable moaners.

    I am not replacing due to breakage, just simply buying a new pair as my daughter lost hers and took mine to listen to an audio book on the bus on her way to school.

    I think they are brilliant, great sound and I am looking forward to purchasing another pair, but from John Lewis. They have a full house of 5 stars with their reviews. Pays to shop around, I guess!

    Needs to be redesigned

    The one that came with the phone were prone to the cutting in and out mentioned in other comments and lasted about 9 months before ceasing to function, they were replaced under warranty. The replacements lasted about 4 months, they are used a lot but used with care. I will try and get them replaced under warranty again but that is a 58 mile round trip + parking so almost the cost of replacing them. On a second phone the same has happened and the lightning to jackplug adaptor also broke. Really not good enough whatever happened to Apple's reputation for robust high quality design and engineering? I started with Apple on an Apple 1 as a university student and have had loads of machines from performa, to powermac, Apple Newton, digital camera, various laptops, servers, iMacs, iPods, iPads, iPhones, most were brilliant innovative and robust but i am really disappointed with the drop in standards over the last few years, my iPad Pro lasted til a few weeks out of guarantee and we have been through loads of headphones in the last 3 years.

    I have been forced to purchase three pairs of these headphones over the last four months. They are not fit for purpose. The wire in the jack continuously bends meaning the sound goes on and off. Whilst listening to music this somehow causes voice control to turn on and off and skip through tracks whilst in Spotify and in Apple Music. Sounds plays through headphones then blares our of the phone. Normally a lover of apple products having purchased iPhones and laptops over the years. Definitely would not recommend. No doubt a ploy to force customers to spend up and purchase the air pods. Utterly disappointed, infuriating experience.

    I AM SO MAD PERIODDDD!!These headphones lasted me for 3 months only 3 months!!can y’all believe that?i take good care of my headphones ALWAYS but these only lasted me THREE MONTHS.First one started malfunctioning then today when I woke up THE OTHER ONE STOPPED WORKING.APPLE FIX YPUR HEADPHONES AND MAKE THEM CHEAPER IF THEYRE GONNA STOP WORKING IN THREE MONTHS

    Came with iPhone 7, stopped working

    I am not very happy that first of all I need a special earphone to go with iPhone and also they break so easy. These things put me off from getting any Apple product. Came on site to buy new ones but discouraged from all the negative reviews. May be I will change the phone and switch to android.
