Don’t work on my iPhone 6 Plus

I have an iPhone 6 Plus and I got these EarPods with the iPhone X. They worked fine on both devices for around 2 weeks and now they don’t work on my 6 Plus. Every time I connect them, a message pops up saying “this accessory is not supported on this device.” Sometimes, they work for a minute or less before they just stop working. They continue to work on the iPhone X and I’ve already cleaned out my 6 Plus charging port as well updated to iOS 11.2.2. Overall, I’m very disappointed

    Great

Good price, had mine for over a year and still work perfectly after using them everyday. They have even survived being put through the wash twice...

    Low stars?

I don't know why some people complain about these earphones. I have been having them for 3+ months and they are perfect. They are comfortable and it is so much better than the regular earphones. I don't like to be carrying around the adapter because the adapter is also pretty costly and I prefer this one having the lightning connector so like that I can just leave the adapter in my car, or in my house where it can be safe and I don't have to lose it. I recommend to anyone this earphones honestly and as a matter of fact, I am buying a new set for my sister. After she saw that I have a pain, she had been nagging me to get her a pair of these awesome earphones.

    GREAT SOUND!

I normally don't write reviews, because every apple product I own is exceptional. But these EarPods are WONDERFUL! the base comes through so well, such a big improvement. Looking forward to upgrading to the AirPods soon

    Almost perfect

    Hi all,

I've been using my earpods for a while now just to test them.
As a sound engineer I am used to high-end speaker systems, as a reference I took my Shure SE in-ear monitors and a avarage PA system.
My first impression was WOW, the earbud's sound very well for a included pair of earbuds. After using them for 2 weeks I just found one shortcomming. From 16KHz and up I miss a part of my sound, ofcourse this is solvable by using a equalizer but the back side is that I need to turn off the EQ every time I want to use my I phone to play music over a PA system since they are most often perfectly capable of producing that part of the frequency spectrum.

Apple, I hope you can do something with this feedback.

    With kind regards,
    Luuk

    Disappointing

I'm down to my 4th pair in 7 months. They break down within a few weeks, pausing and playing songs randomly, not to mention that the remote stopped working in a matter of days. Given that they're not cheap, this performance is unacceptable.

    Worse Idea Ever

Stupid idea, Apple! Since purchasing my new iPhone 8, I have wasted about $150 bucks on stupid adapters, dongles, etc, and NO, I do not want your Bluetooth junk next to my skull. Such as waste of time and money! I've been a dedicated Apple consumer for 10 flippin years and unless Apple makes some educated changes, I'm voting with my pocketbook. Samsung, anyone?

    poor design, do not recommend

this design does not stay in my ear, if I sit still they work, but if I move my head, they start to fall out. I can not walk without them falling out. I also am not a big fan of the lightning connector- does work with any other device.

don't waste your money, these are the worst headphones ever

These headphones don't stay in place and they are extermely uncomfortable.
Now that I have an iphone8 and have to use this new headphone jack, I've been on the hunt for anything other than this stupid system. I shouldn't have to use an adapter to listen ot music on my phone. I also shouldn't have to hurt my ears and drive myself crazy trying to keep these in.

I recommend you find anything else besides these headphones because they are absolutely the worst headphones I've ever had.

Between apple going to this type of headphone jack and the news that they slow down/kill batteries, this might be the last straw for me. Other smartphones are starting to look at lot more user friendly.

Durable and Reliable with One Noticeable Flaw

I don’t have any major complaints about these earbuds. I often use them for commuting and exercising, where sound quality isn’t a primary concern. I don’t want to ruin my more expensive headphones when I have these that I can beat up, and these earbuds definitely can take a beating. The one flaw I’ve noticed with these, that I never had with stardard 3.5mm headphone jack EarPods, is the disconnection that occurs in cold weather. I don’t know if this is a flaw of the iPhone’s Lightning connector or the EarPods, but in cold weather, the audio will cut out and you can hear the EarPods “disconnect” and pop as if they had been physically unplugged from the iPhone while still in your ears. This is a nuisance I never had to deal with while having a 3.5mm headphone jack on my iPhone. The only solution I can think of is to use Bluetooth wireless headphones in cold weather.

    Faulty / Touch sensitive

The lightning connector is terrible. The slightest touch will turn off a call, switch a song, turn off a song, randomly start a call, etc. I have to buy blue tooth headphones now so I can use my phone while running and walking. I sincerely hope Apple does away with this and/or creates a better connector.

it is a really good and useful thing, the sound has a good quality. Well not every one wants to buy the wireless ones.

Thank you for the greats updates, and the fantastic quality.

    Great earphones with one downside.

These have to be the best earphones I have had included with a phone. This is simply because I accidentally washed them and they still worked, not even damaged physically or quality-wise. Talking of quality, the sound from these tiny things is truely outstanding without having to mess with the EQ. The only downside I have found is that they don’t stay in your ears if you are running! Another great Apple product.!

    Terrible

I have had my earphones since September and by November one ear had tuned out so I was stuck listening to the music through one year while it would skip and pause songs at random and now this morning they’ve just stopped working and as a commuter, I’d rather listen to my music than the trains! I keep my earphones in tip top condition, and although I got these free with my phone, I do not feel comfortable shelling out £30 for a new pair when cheaper brands produce better quality earphones...but wait, you’ve removed the jack so no one can BUY cheaper earphones! I thought that I was the only one, but after reading these reviews I’m clearly not. I love my phone but shame on you apple for downgrading big time in this department.

    $800 PHONE WITH $2 EARPODS?

I can't believe anyone would pay 29 for this junk. I throw them out when they come free with the phone! The sound quality is terrible, and they are the most uncomfortable ear buds made. They don't even have a rubber cushion, which most of us like because it makes the ear bud tolerable and sometimes comfortable. It also helps cancel out the noise. Apple is always claiming to be pushing the envelope with design so why can't they design quality ear buds? They want 800 for the phone but then they give you these cheap, one size fits all, uncomfortable, and poor sound quality ear buds.
