    • Written by Jess S from Monroe

ahhh!! i’d literally just gotten these things yesterday and, even after being gentle with them, the left bud went out! for my first iphone and apple product, i’m not very pleased. sure, they sound amazing, but they didn’t even last a day.

    Broke within a week

    • Written by Erica B from Atlanta

These are horrible! I used them only at work for one week, and the left earbud went out. Why remove the earbud port only to introduce a subpar alternative? I am very disappointed with this product.

    Too easy to break

    • Written by Samantha S from El Paso

Had them for ONE day, pulled them out of my phone (not by the wire) and the metal part and plastic part seperated. Spent 30 minutes after that trying to pull out the piece that got stuck in my phone.

    Cannot Recommend

    • Written by Ollie C from Keizer

As a loyal Apple customer, (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, etc) I unfortunately cannot recommend these. I have three problems with them.

    1. Poor Connectivity. I understand that these are great if you only have an iPhone 7 or later, but I have an iMac and MacBook Pro for work and school, requiring me to carry these for my phone, and regular EarPods for my computer. I know I can just use the dongle, but I will discuss this in issue #3.

    2. Cheaply made. This may be an isolated case, but on both pairs of Lightning EarPods I have owned, the volumes controllers failed, and over time, the audio quality drops significantly. My regular 3.5mm EarPods never had this issue, and still sound great after years of use.

    3. The adapter is stupid. While the 3.5mm to Lighting adapter was a brilliant move for Apple money wise, (as I have spent $40+ on replacing lost or failed dongles this year alone) It really is stupid when you look at it. If you take apart the iPhone 7, You will find that the area where the 3.5mm jack should be is empty, meaning Apple easily could have left it alone. Also, 2 of the 5 dongles I have purchased either didn't work or failed very quickly. The other 3 were either lost, or quit working after several months of use.

For these reasons, I cannot recommend these to anyone, I think the AirPods or any bluetooth headphone are better than dealing with these or the dongle.

    3 month lifespan

    • Written by Blaine K from Oakville

Right ear totally died, left still works. I've continually bought new earbuds every 6 months after shorting out near the plug-end, but this is getting ridiculous. They're basically expensive disposables. Yet I keep buying them again and again. :(

    Uninspiring

    • Written by Peter V from Columbia

These aren’t bad earbuds per say, they do fit in my ears pretty well, and they sound pretty decent too. I’m just not happy to pay $30 for a pair of earbuds that aren’t even really worth the price, especially when Skullcandy earbuds are about $12-ish less expensive and have comparable noise.

    Electric shock!!!

    • Written by Jess G from mahopac

I am an “Apple person” I really am. Everything in my life connects to Apple, I am loyal customer with my computer, iPad, phones, etc. but honestly.. I have been so disappointed in them lately. This is my second set of EarPods. The sound went in the first pair and all of a sudden I would be walking and get a crazy electric shock. I got rid of them even though they were less than a year old and figured, well I use them a lot, whatever. Nope I bought a second pair. Everyone paid $30? Nope not me..I’m in NY and had to pay over $40 because I went to the grand central location and they have a “special tax”. I put them in my ears and a day later the shock is back. It’s so dangerous. So what’s my choice Apple ?? Upgrade to your $200 pair? This isn’t customer experience. This isn’t how you maintain customers. It’s actually just sad to see how you are letting your product slip by the waist side.

    What are you doing Apple?

    • Written by Emma Y from Melbourne

I’m usually a big fan of your work, but your headphones have become terrible! I’ve been threw 3 pairs already with my current iPhone (less than 1 year old). All my previous headphones that came with my iPhones lasted forever. I’m sick of buying new pairs, fix it Apple!

    One EarPod failing out

    • Written by Silvo B from Ljubljana

I am totally dissatisfied as one of the EarPods is falling out all the time, even when I seat still. Sound is good, but it doesn't help if product fails at basics. I haven't had any problems with previous generations.

    Stopped working

    • Written by Alyssa B from Maleny

The earphones were working fine for a while and then after using them for 4 months they just stopped working. I took good care of them, I only ever really took them to school and there’s no outside damage. I have no clue why they stopped working. I can’t hear the music no matter how loud the volume is. I also used the earphones with another phone to see if my phone was the problem, but still no sound would come out.

    The Breakage!

    • Written by Chris K from Port Talbot

As an iphone 7 plus user, these are the only earphones i can really use without resorting to amazon for knock offs. This would be fine if they didn’t have a lifetime of about 3 months! I have gone through 5 pairs all ending in me smashing then up with rage after both earbuds stop outputting music. Terrible product and you know this apple!

Wish I could give 0 stars

    • Written by Gerald C from Alhambra

Absolutely laughable how cheesy the earpods are. I've gone through at least 4 sets in just over a year. They work fine for a month or two, then one side will go out and then the next. $30 each time for a faulty product. These are obviously engineered to break as you can see the overwhelming 1 star reviews and yet they make no correction. Not to mention there are very few other options out there. I actually like a $10 set of wireless earbuds I got from Target but it's a hassle to have to recharge earphones. I'm officially done with Apple products. I'll ride this phone out and when it's done I'm done as well. It was bad enough they took the headphone jack out so you can't charge your phone while listening without another $30 accessory. You would think a company that wants to keep it's customers happy wouldn't put out a product that gets 90%+ terrible reviews. Worthless and infuriating

    Sound quality dreadful

    • Written by Barry S from Northwich

Just received my new iPhone XR, complete with wired EarPods that connect through the lightening connector. I have previously used $79 Klipsch ‘in ear’ phones with 3mm jack plug to listen to my mp3 music.
So I was interested to try these Apple pods and compare them to my previous excellent Klipsch units (now redundant unless I buy a converter). Well to say I was disappointed is an understatement, they are dreadful for music. I am sure they will be fine for taking calls, but not for music.
Now that Apple have removed the 3mm socket I had hoped the ear pods would be ‘good enough’, unfortunately they are not!

    Broken again

    • Written by Elizabeth F from Melksham

Bought a pair 9 months ago which broke within a couple of months. Bought a replacement pair 7 months ago which have broken today (right ear has stopped working).

I use these headphones a lot but I really look after them as well.

    Will look for an alternative.
