    Faulty product

    • Written by Rhon W from albuquerque

The adaptor came with my IPhone X when I bought it about two years again. I have gone through about eight of these adaptors. After about two months the adaptor starts doing weird things to my phone. Skipping a songs, activating Siri, ending calls etc. I had Apple replace them and each time they say it’s out of warranty and they say it’s really rare and strange that this is happening. I think they know very well that this is a faulty product. They are just ignoring it. It’s a shame, buying a phone for that much money and having to deal with this junk adapter every two months. Very disappointed in their decision to ignore their customers complaints. Come on Apple, just admit it, fix the adaptor and give everyone a new one that works!!!

This product a huge pain in concept, reality is even worse.

    • Written by Alexandre F from Charleston

Taking away the headphone jack was one thing, but making us buy this absolutely terrible quality adapter that decides to only work for a month before it starts cutting out/pausing your music/triggering siri everytime you touch the thing is another. Steve is rolling in his grave. I want to curse so bad. I hate this company

    Terrible quality

    • Written by Greg D from Jacksonville

I tried playing music through this adapter, and on FIRST use, it played for about 10-15 seconds and then sound would stop. After disconnecting and reconnecting the adapter, the music plays again, only to fail again 10-15 seconds later. I have no idea why Apple is selling this garbage on their official store. It's also extremely flimsy, and I could easily see this adapter falling apart not too far down the road.

Shamefull deserves a true MINUS 10 Star rating

    • Written by Jon F from Home

Everything Apple sells, taking into account the HIGH price on all of it, should be built to withstand anything out there it could come in contact with. After reading hundreds of reviews on this adapter it appears Apple hired some 9th rate copycat to further damage their reputation. make a BIG mistake BIGGER. Solution Admit your mistake offer a REAL solution/fix on your dime.

    Poor quality

    • Written by Paul T from London

As per the other reviews on this site, I've found this product to be very poor quality. It fails around 6 months after purchase - I've had to buy this product twice (6 months apart), and am about to buy it for a third time. It costs £9 - but the loss in goodwill to Apple must be much greater.

    This is a bad product

    • Written by Jacob P from Waunakee

I bought it about three months ago, now completely broken and there is no good viable alternative. Honestly, all I use my phone for is calling, texting, audible and audiobooks, so when two of those don't work it makes me unreasonably annoyed. I am planning to switch away from Iphone sometime soon.

    What's up with you Apple???!!!

    • Written by Rodrigo D from Akron

What is going on with you Apple Design Team?!!!!
how is possible that I buy a brand new Mac Book Pro and it comes with a jack for headphones AND YOU GOT REED OF IT IN THE NEW IPHONES!!!!.
You guys are making our lives miserable having to buy stupid adapters and having to carry them all over the world, and on top of that they do NOT work, or work for a little while and then you have to toss them away and of course, you have no choice you have to buy more.

At the very least they should deliver a free adapter with the purchases that we make, as users did not ask for this change.
Apple, I have been your customer for more than 30 years and you really disappoint me on this kind of STUPID desitions.
I'm pretty sure you don't care, and also pretty sure you don't even read these reviews. SAD!

    Trash of a product

    • Written by Kayla N from New Albany

This is the worst product ever made and it reflects how much care this company puts into their business. This adapter has malfunction since I’ve purchased it, it constantly ends calls just by being moved, and it pauses videos. Never but this product, it should be removed from stores.if I could leave zero starts I would.

    Most unsustainable product I own

    • Written by Pauline O from London

This product is truly shambolic. Not only has Apple forced us to either buy a new set of headphones or this adaptor product, it forces me to buy this product every six months because that’s when it stops working. Why after 6 months this product takes on a life of its own, pausing, switching to voice control, skipping music is unknown to me. Maybe it’s because Apple wants me to buy it every 6 months. Unfortunately being complicit in this cycle of unsustainable purchasing behaviour is muh more cost effective than buying a new pair of compatible or wireless headphones. So yet again for the third time I will buy this horrendous product knowing that it will fail me and I’m another 6 months I will have to buy another. But my current headphones are great. Unlike Apple this product has lasted over 3 years and continues to function effectively throughout its extended lifestyle.

    Poorly consrtucted

    • Written by Andrew J from Kirkland

I have owned apple headphones since the first iPods. All of them have lasted years. I think I only had to purchase one extra set of headphones in that time. This adapter lasted me 6 months. Even the Apple headphones I had plugged into them were at least three years old.

Unfortunately if you want to plug headphones into a newer iPhone you need one. Now to waste another $10.

Have to reach for these now every time I need to listen with my really amazing Sennheiser headphones that are brilliant and work on all my other devices with headphone jacks. Broke my 5S and you dimwits discontinued it and the 6. Thanks. No thanks.

If only there were a way to just plug my gorgeous, expensive, Sennheisers into my iphone 8 without hunting for this mediocre, piece-of-crap adaptor.
Hmmmm. "If I could turn back tiiiime!"

    It Broke

    • Written by Michael B from New Malden

So - Apple - I have a REALLY GOOD pair of earphones - that have a 3.5mm Jack. So I had to buy an adapter - note - anything that adapts anything CAN NOT improve the quality of sound - it can only make it worse.
It's a stupid annoying thing that dangles out of my pocket and looks awful.
And surprise surprise after a year it broke.

I really do think Apple don't care about customers any more - just making money. My phone cost way over £1,000 for goodness sake and I have to use a rubbish £9 dongle that looks stupid, doesn't improve sound quality and breaks.
I've been a fan since the start - it's so sad to see.

    The most ridiculous creation ever

    • Written by Kapris L from New malden

I’ve now bought my 3rd (I’m sure it won’t be the last one) because it just keeps breaking and changing the music I’m currently listening. I’ve now wasted £30 on a piece of garbage that can only work for 2-3 months tops. And on top of it all the headphones that I own are good quality ones with this ridiculous cable there is no quality left. Disappointing.

    Waste of Money

    • Written by Jessica B from Emmett

I’ve boughten about a million of these & every single one breaks after minimal usage without any physical damage done to them. I can’t use them as I would normal headphones. You can’t move or it will trigger alerting Siri and for some reason it will start fast forwarding whatever I’m listening to from any sudden movement.. So don’t plan on going for any walks with headphones, you’re gonna have to sit still and put the phone on a flat surface. Even with doing that, expect that they will eventually give out after a couple of months and won’t work at all, no noise will come out unless you wiggle the adapter. Oh yeah, and it’s not the headphones. My headphones are brand new. I've probably spent over $100 on these stupid adapters and it upsets me off that apple removed the regular headphone jack.
