Good case but their might be a little problem

I got this case, the leather case, the silicone case, and the lightning doc. I used this case the most because I needed more battery life. But I used it with doc and the case and phone were too heavy on the doc and the case's lightning port is bent. It doesn't really charge unless I jiggle the lightning connector in the lightning port than don't touch it. I have to charge the case then my phone then put them together. It's a hassle

How to turn off or on your battery case?

Apple company your the best company in the world. With great ideas and invention. The one thing about this product is that you can't turn off or turn on your charger like i need control over my battery case. When my phone is about to die i would like to just click the button and let it charge but just automatically charging is not the best idea because your wasting battery and over heating your phone. I would like for apple to change the smart battery case or update for those people who would turn off or turn on the battery case because i think this is the best way to help apple user.i hope your receive this feedback and do something about it. I love you guys i really do. You are just the best. Although the design and feeling of the case is AMAZING. Thank you Apple

    Great Design, Feel, & Function.

I was looking through these reviews before buying this case unsure of what to expect because of misleading reviews, in this review I hope to confirm any future inquires. The case feels amazing in hand and it does add weight which I love. It provides excellent protection with a great design. The lightning port on the case works whether the case has juice or not and IS compatible with every lightning accessory as the description states. One of my initial concerns were if it worked with the lighting to jack adapter - which is does flawlessly (something that I was specifically researching but had doubt about because of a misleading review). The case depletes its battery while keeping the iPhone charged, which is not only functional but addresses the health of your iPhone's battery, because in use, this practically eliminates dod 'depth of discharge' on your iPhone's battery on a regular basis which can prolong it's life immensely while using the case instead - $100 vs $900 battery, you decide which one you want to wear faster. This method of charging, provided by this Apple case, is far superior to draining your iPhone's battery and then recharging, which almost all other cases do, which chips away at your lithium ion battery's health with a full recharge. The case is fantastic and despite is high price tag is in my opinion worth it!

    Solves two problems

As a resent iPhone convert I missed certain things from my old Android. A battery that lasts a whole day and front facing speakers. This fixed both of these issues. Downside is it's bulky and heavy. Historically I've had heavier phones so it doesn't bother me.

    Another great Apple product!

Great feel, doubles the life of the phone. Looks awkward, and is a little heavier than I expected. The weird shape feels perfect in your hand. Highly recommended!

    JUST AS BAD AS AFTERMARKET

I had problems with other aftermarket battery cases so I thought would be a good idea to pay the premium for an official Apple battery case. It worked well for a couple months and now it has a problem that makes it just as unusable and unstable as other cheap brands. The case has to be taken off to charge separately and then even when it's attached to the phone and both devices fully charged, the screen goes on and off every few seconds because the phone thinks you're constantly unplugging and replugging in a power source. No longer usable.

    My first battery case!

I got this as a Christmas gift, and I absolutely love it! I've never had a battery case and I didn't know what to expect, but it's so great. It's nice to be able to use my phone during the day and not have to worry about conserving my battery life. I'm really looking forward to going on a long trip of some sort to really test out the longevity of it. If you're contemplating on whether to get this case or a competitor, get this one!! You won't be disappointed.

Didn't want to like this, but I do...

I've used Mophie (and other) battery cases since getting an iPhone 4. I really wanted to hate this Apple battery case. When I saw the pictures my first thought was "it looks like something off Batman's utility belt. Steve (Jobs) would never have approved that thing!" ... but I have to admit, it's the BEST battery case I've ever had. Love the fact that's truly smart! No need to turn on the battery. It knows how to regulate power. Thought the fell would be too slippery, but it's actually quite more comfortable than my Mophie, which was always slipping out of my hand. If you're skeptical, give it a shot. It really is quite smart in its design. Once you start using it, you realize the folks at Apple know what they are doing.

    Was awesome at first

Only got it in September or later even.worked great for little over a month , then stopped charging when plugged in, started working again now it's dead within a couple hours and killing my phone battery with it. For as expensive as it is I expected a lot better and longer service

    Wouldn't be waithout this now.

I own a iPhone 7 in black and love it so to protect my investment I bought a red apple silicone case as I wanted an official apple case rather than some 3rd party case that never quite has the fit and finish that apples cases offer. I saw the apple smart battery cases at this time but just couldn't tempt myself to spend £99 on a case even though it had a battery built in. A few months later I was out xmas shopping and in my local electronics store I saw a apple smart battery case that was practically brand new for sale at around half the retail price so I decided to sell my recently purchased silicone case and try this instead. I am now a huge fan of the battery case as it adds even more protection and boosts the speaker volume due to the design of the casing. My battery life is practically double making a days very heavy usage easily achievable. I also like the way it doesn't require any switches to be turned on or off, you just slide your phone in until it connects with the lightening connector and then the iPhone software shows you two battery status bars one for the pihones battery and one for the apple smart case. The case battery will be used first followed by the iPhones once the cases battery has depleated. This is great because if you were to remove the iPhone at any time your iPhone will have a full charge ready and waiting. The extra bulk on the back actually adds grip and the extra weight becomes something you adjust to quickly. Still very pocketable and now something you can use without fear of running out of battery. Looking back I should have paid the £99 for this as once you own it you realise its more than just a battery case it's the best case apples ever made and is a perfect match for my iPhone 7. I'd recommend this to every iPhone owner.

    It's ok but not great

Honestly… Would've went with the mophie one kind of skeptical on the fact that it does not have a button that turned it on or off when fully charged.. I love the feeling of the case it is a bit heavy though I just got it four days ago and charging both the phone and the case together can take forever whenever you forget to charge your phone So don't forget to charge your phone at night !! Other than that it'll last me all day into the next day about six 7 PM I haven't really paid attention but will update this as I go along with the case !

    Excellent Case!

Though it was tricky putting on and taking off then putting back on again, this case is great. It's much better than wireless charging and gives the phone more battery juice. I'm using it for the iPhone 7. I don't need to charge my phone for about 22 hours with the case on and only at 80% charged on the case.

    Longevity Lacking

Worked fine for a few months, then died mysteriously. So I guess it cost me $1 per day -- hardly worth it.

    USELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every thing that I use is apple. My MP3 player, mt laptop, my phone, and my ipad. But this has been the most disappointing out of all the products apple has made. There is no point to price this peice of junk at $100. I would reccomend putting velco on a battery pack and on your phone and just attaching them together. That's what I did, and my battery now lasts ten times as long as the "Smart" battery case. I am very disappointed.

Dislike how it charges the phone.

I knew it had no on/off switch, but figured it would be SMART and charge my phone automatically when it reached a certain level...say 20%? That is not how it works. While it's not terrible and doesn't mean it doesn't do it's job, I find it weird that the case basically keeps the phone's battery at 100% all day until it runs out, THEN your battery begins to deplete from the actual phone. I didn't think it was good to keep phones charged 100% all the time charging non-stop...but I guess I was wrong and they know what they're doing? Either way, it will charge the phone keeping it full until the batter case is 0% and thrn you're on your phones battery life from there. I'd prefer a mophie if it comes out for the 7, and charge my phone as I see fit. It seems Apple won by making the lightning port your headphone jack and knocking mophie outta the picture foe the time being.

    Suspect

I am on my second case now have had it for 2 weeks and it is causing my iphone to glitch same as before. The phone goes back and forth from recognizing the battery pack then back to phone battery. Almost like a short. It wakes the phone up automatically back and forth randomly throughout the day. Would be really nice if I did not keep having this problem.

    Great case that make sense.

Knowing that this case is made/designed by the same company that makes the iPhone should give one reassurance that it's design and functionality is deliberately developed into the case. Every facet of the design is so well thought out. I owned the battery case for the 6s as well and that was amazing. I think apple really thought out the design here. A lot of people think the hump for the battery is not ascetically pleasing, and to a certain extent; I agree. But, the hump actually serves a very not so obvious purpose. You can use it as finger hold for your pinky while using the phone. I can tell you from experience with living with this case for over a year that it will stand the test of time. I am a heavy user and never have to recharge recharge during the day. The materials are premium and the feel and ergonomics of the case is on par with Apple's design techniques. The passive antenna and battery widgets are great, the lightening port is great, the materials are great, the speaker pass-throughs are great. I have no complaints with this product. In fact: I have purchased many other cases before Apple made this one; this is the best by far! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the right balance of protection and battery availability/extendability.

    Better Than Mophie.

The case is well designed and much more for fit for the iPhone 7. I would suggest charging the battery case separately than your phone. I would also not use it 24/7. It's meant to extend battery life for times when you need portable power or when you know you will use your phone a great amount.
