    Peeling out. DON'T BUY THIS.

    Bad, Bad product. DON'T BUY THIS. It is peeling and falling apart. And when I took it to an Apple store they said it is my fault. It seems it's not made to be put inside your pocket. Actually, if you want this to last, you should leave it in the original packaging, untouched.

    Apple has become a specialist in making disposable products.

    Great case that falls apart

    For company known for designing high-quality products, they failed on this one. The worst part is that Apple knows about how the case breaks down on the top and they still don’t support their very good customer, me. I literally have never dropped my phone while in the case nor did I even take my phone in and out of the case. It’s still broke in less than 10 months. Completely disappointed with Apple. As much money as I have spent on Apple products, they should at least replace the product or refund me my money. With all of the competitive choices out there, I’ll think twice next time I spend my hard earned money with Apple.

    It could be

    The worst apple product you ever bought. The rubber simply cracks. The battery cannot deliver a full charge to the phone.
    it might even drain energy away from the battery. I called when it was under warranty and the serial number was engraved inside the suede of the case making it UNREADABLE. I've never been so maliciously pwned

    Horrible case

    Ive had this case for 6 months and its completely falling apart. I never drop the phone and all the sudden yesterday pieces starting falling apart. 4 pieces have fallen off. Save your money and buy a mophie case, ten times more valuable than this case

    Awful - rubber falls off, muffled sound

    The worst Apple product I’ve ever bought. First one replaced under warranty. Now same problems with second one. And just wasted an hour with Apple again. Rubber delaminates. Muffled the sound. Look at all the bad reviews Apple...your supplier is conning you and you’re conning the customer

    Furious

    Bought an Apple Battery charger case as a treat to extend the life of my then new phone. Brilliant for the first year, but after about 15 months the corners started to shred. Literally strips peeling off in the area where I hold the case. There is a paper thin film covering a more solid base, so you think you are buying a solid base! Spent £12 on the train to the Apple shop, spoke to lovely young man who checked with someone and said the cover was out of warranty and the best he could do was offer a reduced price cover for £69. No way, especially having just spent for the train ticket. Just wanted something to keep me going until the next iPhone tempts me. So will take great delight in patching this cover with selotape (have already tried gorilla glue and 2 different types of tape - nothing works - Now it is past patching) and showing anyone who will listen how bad this product is. See many others have complained here. Shocking Apple won’t refund or replace this. Not what I expect from Apple. This product is not fit for purpose.

    iPhone case will ruin your iPhone battery

    Brought the smart case from Apple store in Carindale, Brisbane for $160. It started good then the sides fell apart then the battery stopped charging my phone. The worse thing is it’s killed my iPhone battery to a 65% maximum capacity. My wife has my iPhone 6 which is 2 years older then my iPhone 7 and it’s maximum capacity is still at 85%. So the smart case falls apart and it kills the iPhone batter at the same time. Terrible case from Apple I would never buy an Apple case ever again. Save your money and save the battery in your iPhone.

    Awful case. Had two and neither worked

    I got this case when I first bought my phone and it seemed to work great at first. It drastically improved my battery life and I never got below 20%. It worked smoothly just as advertised until a couple weeks in I started seeing glitches and it would not consistently use the case battery first. Sometimes on the battery widget the case battery read as serial numbers or AID UPS and thats when I knew something was wrong. I brought it to the Apple store and after spending an hour in the store I got a free replacement and thiught all was well. Until the same issues began to occur with the brand new case. I gave up and decided to keep it because of the convenience of being able to charge it on the go. However, it is very annoying when I see my phone battery draining and my case battery not moving even though it says my phone is “charging.” My phone also randomly vibrates as it goes from charging to not chargig without me even moving my phone. I believe it is a software issue. What makes it even worse is the quality of the silicone. Since the case is so glitchy I am forced to frequently take my phone in and out of the case in order to make it charge my phone and that starts to wear down the flexible piece to slide your phone in and out. My case has a long tear running from over the edge going all the way around the volume buttons. I am very gentle with it and this still happened. I have friends that lost almost all of the silicone around the case and are left with just s plastic backing. DO NOT BUY

    On my second case, I give up

    My first case disintegrated so Apple gave me a new one. And a couple months later the constant battery charging is messing up my iPhone. So I took it off. Also the second case is coming apart too. I’m going to stick with a normal case until I can get back to an Apple store.

    Total waste of money and terrible support from Apple

    At first the case was running fine then after a few months it started playing up (not holding charge then eventually not being charging at all). So I went to the Apple store and they gave me a replacement. I thought that would be the end of it but the replacement unit started to wear really quickly. The rubber outer layer started peeling and the corners started to crack and that’s from me rarely removing it from my phone. I took it to the Apple store and they REFUSED to replace it! They stated that I should have come in as soon as I started to notice the damage but going to an Apple store is not easy for me and I was not willing to go out of my way just to see them at the first sign of wear. I paid $170 for this unit and expect quality and good service but got total rubbish. I hope this message will prevent someone getting poisoned from a dodgy Apple like I did.

    Not worth it

    I have had the product about 7 months now, I had to get a replacement because the first one ripped. Now the replacement case does not hold a charge, definitely not worth the price.

    Poor quality

    I was used this product for almost a year now. It's ok, the battery are working fine, it boost my iPhone 7 life over a heavy usage for a day, until it start to peel of like almost every reveiew of the product on this site.

    Works Great until 1 Year

    I really liked my Smart battery case for 1 year 20 Days. Then the silicone on the top right corner started to disintegrate without warning. Since then the whole corner has just broken off. Apple claim this is 'wear & tear'. £100 for 1 year use of the product? What a waste.

    Got a bad case of the peels like everyone else who bought this. I'm disappointed that Apple would put its name behind something so shoddy. Makes me rethink buying into their ecosystem.

    Abysmal

    The battery function of this case is brilliant. However the actual case itself is awful. Silicone has torn and is peeling off the case, making it unusable. Apple told me this was normal wear and tear, it is also impossible for the silicone to be replaced. You have to pay for a replacement product at full price as wear and tear isn’t covered in the warranty. If not for the terrible quality of the material used and how short a time period the product has lasted (5 month) this would be a higher rating. But charging me £99 every time, even though only the silicone has broken down rather than the actual battery side of things is unreasonable and inexcusable.

    Very Disappointed

    With many of the reviews on this product I'm very disappointed that I spent so much for something that held up for such a short period of time. The charging aspect is fine. The case itself doesn't hold up. Not cool Apple. I've spent thousands of dollars on your products and feel like I just wasted $100. Where's some buyer loyalty when it comes to replacing a product that you make that evidently isn't up to standard.

    Case Peels

    At first the case was great. Whereas most battery cases require you to flip a switch and charge with micro USB, this case required no work on my part to use and used lightning cables as an input. Win! Then after about 9 months the silicon at the top began to peel. After a year the case looked like garbage. Really disappointed in this poor build quality from Apple.
