    Apple should be ashamed

    The protective rubber-type material on the outside of the case started to peel off in multiple places after a year. Although this is an Apple product, Apple takes no responsibility for what the store admitted was a common problem. Shame on Apple.

    Good battery, terrible case

    This case has always nearly doubled the battery life of my phone. That said, it has failed in nearly every other aspect, as the case itself is peeling and falling apart. I don’t drop my phone but if I did, this would be the last case I’d want to drop it in.

    Poor Quailty Materials

    Bought two of these cases for my sons. After less than 9 months both cases are falling apart. Took to Apple Store and was told wear and tear, which I simply do not accept. The material used in the case does not appear fit for purpose. I cannot recommend this case and it is not what I expect of a supposed premium product.

    Poor Case

    Had this case for a couple months and the rubber has been peeling off. Also, the case has been affecting my service. I could have LTE and with the case on my phone won't work while also the phone and case get really hot. Definitely not worth the 100.

    Great power, poor build quality

    Battery part does exactly as expected and provides all day power, the rubber coating began to peel after about 7 months leaving the case with a serious case of balding by 9 months... Unless you are ok with either 1) replacing every 6 months or 2) carrying a seriously deteriorating case, it is not an advisable purchase... I was disappointed that it does not seem to meet Apples normally high standards.

    iPhone 7 smart battery case

    Looks great, feels great, works about 50% of the time. The outlet into which you plug the lightening connector continually “dings” or connects, then disconnects over and over. I do not recommend this product.

    Poor Quality. Split and fell apart after about 9 months

    Apple would not replace it because I don't live near an Apple store and couldn't get to one until after I had owned it for a year. I wanted to be able to use it on my iphone 8, but that's not an option since it's in such poor condition. I'm going with a third party for my next one.

    Worst case ever

    This review is based on 1 year usage. Worst battery case ever. The first few months were fine, and yes it does keep your battery charged for a long time. HOWEVER, you will notice after extensive use that it will decline in quality. How? First, the socket for the lightning cable will deteriorate after many inserts and when you connect with your lightning cable earbuds, your music will stop with the slightest movement. This gets really annoying. Next, the case has some malfunctions associated with the touch screen. For some reason, the touchscreen fails to recognize exactly where I am pinpointing when plugged into the case, but functions normally without it.I have had to go into the Apple store every 6 months for them to replace it. You will likely be spending $100 bucks plus tax to have it work for you for only 18 months. IF YOU BUY, RENEW at the 6 month marker and right before the end of the warranty period. REMEMBER YOUR DATE OF PURCHASE!

    $100 wasted.

    Beautiful case for this first few weeks, like everyone else is saying, top tears and fades badly from normal use, battery life is decent at best. The only reason I bought this over the $30 Amazon battery case is the convenience of the lightning charger for the battery case, that's not worth they extra $70 trust me. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

    Bad Case of the PEELS

    Awesome that you only need 1 plug to charge both phone and case. Great for 3-4 months. Then the case starts to peel. And continues to peel until it is rendered useless. If this was a 20 dollar case, no problem. But to pay $100 to have this happen? DO NOT BUY THIS CASE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BUY IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!

    Bad Quality

    The shell is made of thin layers of rubber which peel apart at the top like all the other reviews mention. Also the battery drains much faster after iOS 11 update. What the F Apple? Can’t you use some better materials for your $130 case??? Maybe borrow the same material from tech 21. It’s an expensive battery case which doesn’t hold a battery charge and doesn’t serve as a case either. Good for a few months then absolute junk. So disappointing.

    Poor Quality

    Functionally, this case is the best there is. But that's where it stops. This case was obviously not manufactured with longevity in mind. The rubber started peeling and cracking after about 6 months of normal use. Called AppleCare about it, and they gave me the "it's not covered" song and dance because it's not a hardware issue, even though the peeling is affecting the use of the buttons on the sides. They also tried to blame the damage on me by saying I mistreat or abuse my phone, which is simply not true. It's obvious that the materials used to make this case are inferior and do not stand up to normal use, as they should. But Apple refuses to admit it. Many other customers are reporting the same problem, but Apple does nothing about it. I've been a loyal customer for 20+ years, and Apple has always gone above and beyond to make sure I am a satisfied customer. Well, not this time. Shame on you, Apple.

    Not Staying Connected

    The idea of a extra battery case using the apple cable was awesome so I thought. I am on my second case only to have the same issues. My phone battery is draining and i have to take my phone out of the case and then put it back in for it to charge. It does not happen all the time but it is very annoying. I would recommend another case before you spend the money on this one.

    Had 2, both failed

    Initially I loved the case. Charge with the lighting cable and it charged both the case and the phone. Rarely did the phone battery ever get used. So, 2 issues. First both my wife's case and mine failed to charge after 7 months for mine and 6 months for her's, and had to be returned. You do not get a full 1 year warranty on the replacement, only the remaining time left on the original warranty (or 90 days - whichever is longer)! Finally, as I see on other reviews, the latest issue is tremendous battery drain on both of our phones, and non-charging on my wife's phone since the "upgrade" to iOS 11.3. Really a problem, as I do not have the time or ability to charge my phone much of the day and have relied on the supplemental battery to keep me going. I hope the latter can be addressed ASAP by another update! Beware of the high apparent failure rate of this produce. I prefer it to the Mophie due to the ability to use the lighting cable, but I have had Mophies in the past on many of our phones, and never had a problem with the battery going bad.

    Case is falling apart. The whole thing tears down and battery life doesn't last more than a couple hours. Should probably use better materials next time. Dissapointed

    Dont waste your money

    Was great for 8 months, but then the iphone doesn't charge, so I start to take out and in the phone to charge it resulting Silicon falls apart. in both upper parts. I visit the apple store to try to use the 1 year warranty but they said warranty not cover that because silicon was broken. (Silicon was broken because I try to charge my phone several times a day because the battery in the case is not working). I'm really fan of apple but this battery case is the worst apple product I buy

    Worst case, doesn’t charge my phone

    This case was good while it worked. Got it replaced a few months after I purchased it becuase it stoped charging my phone. Now the replacement has started doing the same thing but this time Apple won’t replace it becuase they are saying it’s accidental damage. As a very loyal Apple customer I and very disappointed with this product.

    Terrible quality

    For the first couple weeks the case works perfectly and is wonderful. However after a while the case just starts to crumble. The battery works great but the side of the case starts to rip or break off. If it was any cheaper I would definitely buy more however with this price I am very dissatisfied.

    POOR QUALITY FOR PRICE

    Purchased my first battery case in Oct 2016 for my iphone 7 and within 3 months the rubberized material was coming apart at the volume controls and also at the on/off side button. Took to Apple store and they were kind to exchange for a new one. Unfortunately, the new case came undone also within 3 months. Bad product for $100. BUYER BEWARE!
